Title: How are you celebrating Bitcoin Halving? - less than 9 hours to go
Post by: coingecko on May 11, 2020, 10:28:54 AM
Time is now, this kind of post will be as rare as a celebrating someone's birthday that falls on a date in a leap year

How are you celebrating the bitcoin halving?
Are you sipping your favorite drink at home while in this pandemic lockdown?
Did you join any virtual meetups?
Are you planning to have dinner/lunch/breakfast (depending on where you are) with you favorite people in your life?

We are celebrating it by writing this kind of infographic once every 4 years to share with the world

We truly hope that something like this can help explain to anyone especially beginners what "halving" really is - its really really simple!

For the record the community has it's own Bitcointalk Halving Party - Discord server (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5247383.0) organised by Cyrus (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=78147).

Personally, by the time halving happens, it is going to be about the early morning here, so I'm probably sleeping that time. I guess nothing really, not going to have celebration on my end. But I'm going to go online the first time I wake up in the morning and see what will be the effect price wise.

The only way to celebrate the bitcoin halving is by hoarding or by taking a long position in the derivatives market. I see no other ways to celebrate really! The real celebration would happen when the price will reach ATH. Even though it looks hard at the current gloomy economic situation but Bitcoin is very unpredictable. Expect the unexpected!

I expect a bull after the halving because of altcoins increase just as it was in the last halving. In last time, altcoin hodlers had a big bull in their wallet because the volatility. I hope that this time should be as before as we are waiting for a new ATH.

I just have a nice talk with someone close to me about the block halving. But I'm not interested to join any online party though, I'm more interested on the post-halving results and remain positive that it will bring us new dynamics specially for the miners. Lest we forget we still have the covid-19 pandemic around, a lot of uncertainties in the future. So I hope that the halving will bring new market interest and see the price grow after this event.

I'll celebrate by buying a little bit more BTC, unplugging & locking my Ledger and leaving it there for the years to come. I ain't going to touch my BTC again for a long time. :)

Besides this.. no parties, no other kind of celebration. I'll celebrate for real when Bitcoin will show a large success. ;D

I cannot much celebrate because i didn't know whats gonna be the after effect of bitcoin halving. As i know only before effect that huge massive dumped occured and clearly it was manipulated to bait people to sell. I cannot argue about it, that whale works in crypto world. So, i am still hoping it will be a positive outcome and celebrate this historic third bitcoin halving for everyone to see another great bull run what we are been longing for.

Too many questions that you asked ;D

I don't make any celebration of bitcoin halving, but I only watch the bitcoin price moves at the exchanges. With time still running towards to the halving time, I hope that bitcoin price can increase more than now, and who knows before the bitcoin gets halving, the price will get a pump.

I use some service to deliver my food and drink or other things to my home in this pandemic lockdown in my country, and I don't have any problem with that. I always dinner/lunch/breakfast with my family every day because I cannot meet other people directly, but I can use video call to meet them ;D

It is exciting to wait for the halving moment to come, and I am sure that people have the same thing as me ;D

The groups on telegrams like that of the people who are waiting for new years day at midnight they are having some noise. So I am joining these guys in this historical event, once in 4 years we are having this kind of scenario nothing will lose if we join them. there are people who are waiting for this event to witness the flow of the price and some of them have some kind of event that has some price of if who will predict the exact price of Bitcoin after halving.

To be honest, most of people don't care about the concept about halving or they don't know. All are curious about bitcoin price and they they take advantage from it. Regarding celebration, it's quite complicated in this global epidemic due to COVID-19 since we can't meet or drink together. Only thing we can do is virtual meetings. Anyway all the curisity will be ended after sometimes and we will be calm. Perhaps peoples will concentrate on the trading after halving, because I am assuming more dump of bitcoin price and likely alt markets would positive as well. Let's see what's going to happen after few hours.

Less than 2 hours remain and I'm checking the blocks like it's some sports score. I know there would be no drastic changes except for halving of block subsidiary for the miners, it feels special to be a part of such a historical tech and achievement. Third ever halving for the pioneer of crypto tokens.

They know the concept but they don't know how it really works, like when you said halving the first thing that will come to their mind is a price pump, well historically yes we did see it pumped the price of bitcoin but the fact that environment on the past 8 years has totally changed. I believe that bitcoin a few weeks back that the halving is going to take place this year greatly, but a day or two before the halving with a 15% price decline is what I'm about to go skeptical about it.

I like your idea. For this purpose, I started studying bitcoin to take risks. For many, this doesn't look very reliable, but I think there will always be growth after a fall.

I'm celebrating by trying to use the lightning network to avoid the crazy high on chain fees!
