Bitcoin will likely take a massive dump after the halving, but YES, I do agree that in a few months the markets will start to recover, and altcoins will see their old glory again. A lot of projects have developed SO much since the last run, amazing tech to be honest, so the next peak will likely be MUCH larger.

Stakenet which is a low cap project is one of those I'm the most impressed about. They have built their own multi currency wallet with an inbuilt DEX with Lightning Network integration, meaning you can trade and send/recieve BTC and LTC instantly with very low fees. This has never been seen before, so I'm sure the upside potential on this one is truly massive.

I can name a ton of other projects, just do your own research, and invest with responsibility.  :)

I'm not as optimistic as you are, the fact that bitcoin is still in a downtrend, the best chance for bitcoin to break the downtrend is before the halving event but it didn't work, we still see the trend. decrease for a long time to come

We're all optimistic here. You and they would not be investing in BTC if we are not optimistic, its just a matter of time to wait til crypto rises up again.

The downtrend may take the price to dip again maybe $6k again if the pandemic continues, this doesn't mean I'm not bullish but the dip I believe is necessary for it to go up more. Halving will help its rise along with the altcoins.

We are long enough waiting for that to happen that Altcoin will make their own move, and not only be base in btc price pump.
I don't know if this thing will happen this year but hopefully it will before the hype will be done in bitcoin alone . they need to make their own move so every trader can get profit even f it is just or short time .

Although i am bullish about post halving btc scenario specially for mid to long term but 1 to 2 months after halving may not be as bullish as many are expecting and i will consider btc bullish if it breaks 11.5k and then 14k and finally 20k. These are massive resistance levels that will decide the price range and to start para olic run these levels must be broken.

I agree with you, BTC is still in the downtrend phase, but I believe after this decline is a big pump.
I firmly believe that any of us interested in cryptocurrencies wants a new altcoin season. Hopefully, this will happen soon this year.

That won't happen in the way that everyone will expect. Dump is already happening now and people are concerned of the next move. That's how it will be for those that knows how it's played. Price will rise after the dump is over.

Bitcoin is still not showing an increase in halving which will occur this downtrend as it is still continuing so I'm sure here maybe after halving will be a definite increase.

Bitcoin is currently still below but there has been much speculation about bitcoin about future increases in the near future.

I believe alt season is just going to be next after the bitcoin pump. I'm basing it through the sequence on eoy 2017 and early first quarter of 2018 when most alts pump.
Let's all hopeful that we're coming to the real bull run this time.

I don't think it's right to expect too much in this situation. (this is just my opinion). Because after pumping bitcoin pre halving is still going down trend which is not stable yet. Now if Bitcoin dumps big again then altcoin will also dump. Again if bitcoin suddenly pumps huge then there is a chance of altcoin being dumped. So it is difficult to make any decision at this moment. Let me make my own decision, I will wait two more days before buy any altcoin. Because it is dangerous to trade without looking at the direction of the market.

A lot of people are starting to believe the halving will have positive impact in the price of the bitcoin which might result in massive dump. however, I hope you know there are some level of resistance that bitcoin will break. People take profits and this lead to correction of the price

Seeing from past halving history about 120-150 days after bitcoin halving that is the time bitcoin went up. I hope it will happen this time too. Halving just happens so I don't expect it will go uptrend now automatically it will take time but I hope soon. I am not a miner so I won't be feeling the changes maybe in terms of price. It is actually my first time witnessing bitcoin halving, I spend it with Binance live event on youtube, gaining some halving knowledge from those experts.

I may be wrong but i got a feeling that the real bull run will start in last quarter of this year, historically it has also been seen that last quarter is usually bullish especially in bullish markets or post halving october, november and december have really pushed prices towards north, whenever it starts i want bull trend to continue for atleast 2 years like we have seen down trend for that long.

The best time for Bitcoin to surge was before the halving, now that the halving met dumps I think we will see more dumps, it will take few months for Bitcoin to start surging big, also remember that asic miners are now outdated, miners needs to sell and get new Asics that aren't even released yet until June - July 2020

It looks like you must learn how the crypto cycle work from the last halving. it will be an uptrend for the long term but not for the short term. The price of bitcoin is still very volatile at this moment.

Small altcoin season has already begun and the bearish trend is something that is not yet coming in..

should have done halving bitcoin then the price of bitcoin and altcoin should be very expensive because bitcoin will be more difficult to obtain but if the current price of bitcoin is not interesting then bitcoin will be more difficult to increase demand must increase with the needs and demands of the market.

Halving is a bit of a nothingburger for everyone except miners. They are the only ones that should see any real effect. Lots of machines will no longer make money and will need to be repurposed or scrapped. The fact there will now be an average of 900 new bitcoins produced each day instead of 1800 is not going to have any real effect on the supply/demand equilibrium of a market of 18 million coins. The only change users are likely to see is the smaller number of miners will probably mean higher transaction costs in the short term until the high fees bring more investment in new mining machines.

The halving took place and I have to say it has been quiet in the market tonight.

There has been little signs of altcoins bull run a little, but there should be more. This is the time to be very watchful of you invest short term, you cannot get carried away.

In a weekly trend at least for 8 weeks bitcoin price always close its price in the green candle, but now per 10 May its price has closed in the red candle and I think that has pointed out bitcoin will meet a bearish market first after that we will see its pricr touch more than 10k. It is just my prediction but hopefully there will be an event namely black swan and which make bitcoin price goes higher. It will be impossible since there are a lot of good information that spreading at least it can make bitcoin keep in the bullish trend.

As you know BTC is right now in a downtrend, indeed we have seen BTC price so good in the days ago. But suddenly it was gone deep and l hope that maybe after the halving something will go on well as expected. Maybe altcoins can get up in this way. It is not an exaggeration to say that dumping happens every time in the cryptocurrencies.

Last year, the majority of the forum members on this board said the same sentences here regarding the prediction of the BTC price on the last quarter of the year. Nothing has happened, the EoY drama has ended badly and the latest market pump has been happened due to the big boys who dumped again to the latecomers. Price didn't get declined out of air thin before halving, the market priced halving before halving while everyone has the expectations of a dump right after halving block.

I guess that will for the future of bitcoin but i believe there will be a correction asap. I thought that we must not see the bitcoin will always get the bullish trend but we must also see that the bitcoin could get the correction to build the position again.

That's how the healthy market is working today

Well that's how the nature of crypto is, I still believe this Halving will not disappoint us hours to go and I will hodling my nerves now.

You should learn long term and impact, halving will have impact definitely the supply is very small now and the demand will go up now and the future, it has overcome the pandemic and have died a hundred times and get up again the only way it could die ia hacking on the chain, but Bitcoin has a strong and solid chain, and the world continue to adopt it.

It is already in uptrend since the last month. We saw 4.7k to 6k and then almost a touch of 9k yesterday 5hours before halving to 8k back again. This roller coaster is going up during this time but I am expecting a dump soon. It is the halving pump and a dump is imminent within the next few days. But the overall long term price will have an uptrend is what every user fells and thats why they buy bitcoin.

Quote

Thats the hidden desire is it not? ;D I know how bad the altcoin lovers are feeling, those who bought chunks of shitcoins during a dump and they never rose back anymore, with developers selling the projects away to cutting off all communications, what more do you expect from projects that were made to fail and steal money? The top 4-5 alts are still good though but bitcoin should be the main focus.

the possibility of bitcoin will move to the lowest point when half of bitcoin occurs, after that it might take time to increase its value again, but I believe the price of bitcoin will experience a sharper trend to increase when half of bitcoin occurs, as history has happened in years- previous year.

There is really good impact on BTC, we can just see it and nowadays it is just around 10k. Maybe in the next days, we will see The best price of BTC. Then as you above mentioned altcoin season has to come, but when? none can predict it. It is just indefinite for everybody. But we realize the market and can see it is just near and will happen as soon as, maybe as you said the end of the year or early will be the crypto season.

Do you mean bitcoin halving event? You may wrong to say half of bitcoin, or there is another event who called as half of bitcoin?

More than that bitcoin halving event is already happened exactly in 12 May 2020 ago. Also your prediction is wrong, the fact bitcoin had increased and touched $10.000.

However, a few days ago after bitcoin price risen to $10.000 it was fallen again to $8700. Seem like there are many investor who sell at $10.000 because there are a lot of speculation that bitcoin will reach $10.000 before halving happened.

There is anticipation but the price of bitcoin will not rise just after halving, if anyone expected the magic genie to explode right after halving, then they are just dreaming, the alt coin market does have a lot of dead projects and coins which have no use and those coins will die eventually. The dominance of one coin does not make them better than the other, we will see what all coins will survive in the next ten years.

There will be many investor who expected to pump for bitcoin price but it is not happened. Whereas we already know that the cost to mine is high enough and that will make some miners decided to go out and make the bitcoin hash rate decreased. We could predict what would likely happen to the market, most especially bitcoin, but most times, our predictions are wrong. In fact, we tend to be taken by surprises. Although not everyone expected big change before the halving, however, the little it was also able to d do, some didn't expect. it is possible that even if the market will make corrections, it might not be so pronounced and the next right be a fast price growth.

Not so sure about that. Bitcoin volatilty just show that we may not end up the same journey like the last time it went ATH. Halving surely decrease its supply but will miners stays as it is? Of course there are some who loses their apetite to continue due to the rewards being cut by half. Im not sure but we can feel its effect as the miners fee increases by fold and this is because of lack of enough pool to accept those hashes.

The only way miners can benefit is to assure the btc value to increase so even with smaller reward they can still earn almost same for the expenditures they are occuring.

They may have that good season before btc finally pump. Actually it is starting to pump now as well as some of the altcoins. But the fact that it may end the last price circle isn't sure yet.

It is hard to expect some market trends. Since halving ended, more investors are looking forward for that huge price pump that will going to happen.

It's so difficult for bitcoin to break 10k resistance and if this will not be going to happen and just wait for the time until bitcoin will be going down again to the 7k level.
if bitcoin doesn't break 10k and you must not expect the price of bitcoin will touch more than the ATH that already achieved by bitcoin.

There were lots of talks about how the price of Bitcoin will turn out to after the halving.  More than 90% of crypto price speculators said the trend will follow the same of what happened in the last halving, that is drastic reduction in the price of BTC.  However, the reverse was the case now as the price of BTC kept on soaring after the halving.

This halving did not effect right away in the previous halving. It take likes 1 week or 2 before it went down so I guess we will be seeing it in coming days or weeks and then a sudden rise up in the price after. Hopefully it will be better than any other halving in years back.

Yeah, its better for I am holding some altcoins too.
But, for what exchange?

Reason behind a sudden pump of altcoin could be investors selling bitcoin for it.
Would you like that idea?
Will they release another wave of money just to buy an altcoin? I doubt that.

These speculations were proven wrong because the halving is already completed but as we can see its nothing happen. Only the Bitcoin has gaining price stability in the meantime, but the truth is most of the top-ranking cryptocurrencies have remained the same. thats why I believe that halving is not the reason for any Bullish market trend that happened before. or maybe I'm wrong so let's wait and see.

Historically, prices seem to tank immediately after the halvening before beginning to rise. Although the halvening potentially marks the beginning of the bull run, chances are prices could move to the downside or consolidate for a while before rallying.
