Title: cryptowallet.cards
Post by: MoparMiningLLC on May 13, 2020, 12:20:54 AM
anyone familiar with this company? Starting to see them pop up on eBay - the seller is showing both public key and private key - I checked a few out of curiosity and all the ones that I did check never had funds. I did send the seller a message letting him know that the cards are compromised as someone could simply keep the keys and sweep the wallet any time in the future.

their card design confuses me though as there is a hologram that looks like it would need to be removed but then the private key is also printed on the card right next to it.

or am I wrong?

edit: found their actual website and based on the images they provide, it looks like they also put the private key on the card without anything covering it

Thanks for sharing! Looked at feedback profile of Ebay seller and found this: "Be careful, public key and privet key are not linked, no reply from seller"

Unfortunately, you usually get what you pay for when it comes to anything financial these days. Why try to save $25-30 on a product that you are more than likely storing at least $100+ starting out? Go with Ballet Wallet for this feature all day every day. I think with most things, any "replica" type products are usually not very popular/much skam, whereas new business ideas are highly welcomed in this space.

Right now my eyes are set on Trezor as they begin to pilot a new chip product of some sort with Tropic Square  :)

yea I saw that - I thought maybe the seller on eBay removed a decal/hologram or scratched it off to reveal it but then on their actual site they show them the same way... I am amazed but then maybe that is why I have not seen them here, no one with any real knowledge would buy those.

oh for sure, I have 6 ballet wallets now and I think 6 more on the way - I also have coldkey - the only other one that seems to be doing it right that I have seen.

ouch. that sucks  - did they refund? and they are prolly not good as the private key is shown on the backside. they seem to have it under the holo but its also etched on the back - so that kind of defeats the purpose of the holo, right?
