If you create a coin with 100 million total supply, how much do you recommend giving per person in an Airdrop to get things going?

It depend on the value you attach to your coin if you put a 1 cents value on your coins then $5  of your coin should be 500 of your coins if 410 then it's 1000 of your coins that is why in any airdrops they tell you how much you are going to receive in terms of dollars so you can give each person $20 worth and limit it to the number it depends on the percentage that you want to give.

It should e less than 10% from the total supply or it will be a very good thing if the amount of airdrop will be much lower. The airdrop being used as a way to the promotion dude.
You must also consider about the dump that will be happened caused by the airdrop that already distributed

Like #2 said, depending on how you value your coin. Though most of the time, it will be different between how you value your coin versus other people value your coin. If you overvalue it, the price will have to recorrection to reflect the supply and demand of market, same applied for undervaluing it. Airdrop usually giveaway a good enough amount to make people feel their effort worth it. Anything over $10 for free with only a few minutes to fill the form already considered good.

200-500, also depends on number of partiticpants. Think about ways to prevent dump after listing as well, as airdrop hunters tend to sell coins as soon as they hit the market.

If you create a coin and you start an airdrop as a means of marketing your new coin, it's your developers and the team behind your coin that should decide how much worth of the coins those who entered for the airdrop will receive(after you must have assessed the worth of your coins). Since airdrops is just dropping free coins into wallet addresses that applied for it, I know it is just going to be a tiny amount($1-$5 worth most times), though for doing nothing, but most times requires participants to enter their private information, which I will advice no one to do if it entails that.

100 million total supply is too much imo and i think its hard to attract hunters or investors to join on your project  although i already saw an airdrop with over a million suply tokens but not a hundred million like shown on this thread but let say you have a hundred million supply token i think you will need to give over thousand or hundred thousand depending on the quality of work by your workers .

You should consider the possible number of airdrop participants. And considering the total amount of token supply, maybe around 5% of it will go to the airdrop. But it can still be changed depends on the amount of the token.

I think that the amount of coins that the project allocates for airdrop can reach up to 20% of the total supply. This way you can attract the attention of a very large number of investors to your coin. It is very important that the number of coins that each airdrop participant receives in terms of dollars is the same at the start of trading as it was declared during giveaway. This will create a reliable image of the project and strengthen its position in the market.

This is the Right amount to be sent for the whole airdrop participants

10% of your total supply is for the airdrop program, your coin should select quality participants that many other shit coins don't care about it. They will contribute more to the project.

Most airdrop that I often encounter is if the prize for airdrop is only 1-5% of the total supply and not too many participants, maybe around 1000-5000 is enough. And after that always check whether your participants are all valid or not because there will definitely be someone who is cheating by registering several accounts and hoping if he gets a lot of results from your airdrop.

If your account it's a good project who has some potential on the blockchain or cryptocurrency ecosystem, then you don't do airdrop for your marketing purpose. The community will try to help you share more about your project. An airdrop event was a terrible event for the platform due to a user who participate on the airdrop kinda harsh and always spamming on the chat asking about that's topic without understanding in about the project.

So, if you are asking how much per person you will give, you can use a formula as:
Total number of tokens available for airdrop
Divide it to:
The total number of registered participants = total number of airdrop available per person.

budget 3 to 10% of that's supply should be more than enough.. and debt make the airdrop one where users would have to get referrals.. all you would get when you do that is load of bots and cheaters trying to steal from you

The emphasis is on the number of participants that you will need according to your needs, after that determine the threshold value of your coins and  how much is appropriate for each participant. Here, There is a propriety and proper value of your distribution which is distributed to participants.  its  helped you even though the type of work is not too difficult to do.

I think its noy about the quantity. Airdrop value is depend on the token metrics of their project. Even he had a 100million tokens, but the unlocked or the circulation on the market is just 1 million. We can say, it is high valued project and the price should be at least good. For example, the 1million circulation has alloted 10,000 tokens for the airdrop with such low supply, this amount is good already or also depends on how many people will received it. Quality is always a great factor considering the quantity of airdrop tokens.

Instead of airdrops why not do bounty hunting, some of the project allocate 1 to 10% of the token supply, if you do bounty hunting in replace of airdrop people will promote your project,instead of just providing their social media account to claim, some of them are cheating, in bounty campaign every claimants has a an account associated with it.

It's far less about the tokenomics really, but about the planning of how to get to your desired circulation, distribution and all that. Obviously you want your coins to have value so it's not even about how much you give out but how you decide to then let people use it creatively. More use = more demand.

I think you should re-evaluate your option about the marketing strategy because things have changed now in the crypto industry. Is airdrop still effective on a particular purpose? if yes then go, just set a cap of 1% in the total supply. in most projects airdrops are useful in terms of creating a social media and  communication channel community. because its no sense if you have a project without community.

One the supply of the coins is one million and they decided to give to the aidrop participants ofcourse they are thousands each or more each participants because each coin for sure the valus is very cheap so if they give few coins so you can gey only a little so it is not worth it to participate so choose good to calculate first before joining.

Less than 2% of total supply. That is the most reasonable allocation you can make, if you distribute too much for airdrops and bounty then they will surely crash your project.

I certainly wouldn't give a large sum, because that could put the whole project down. I would consider a range of 1% to 5% to be adequate.

I think that will depend on how much the participants that you need to join in your project. Maybe 2%-5% will be enough to share the airdrop to them as you don't want to see your token price will drop because they will dump your token once it gets list on the market. But if you're going to make more than one bounty besides of the airdrop, I think you will reduce the amount or the percentage to be given to each participant.

all depends on the price of the token that you make and also whether in the future you will do ICO/IEO. If the price of your token is worth $ 0.1 then you can share 2% -3% in the airdrop community

it will not have demand if you will just give the coins free to all.

For me 10%  will be enough for airdrop,and the rest use it for future development  and marketing . Its better to use more of the supply for promotion than giving it for free without any exchange like what onion do before.

You can include bounties in there and airdrops.
If you want you could just directly let them join a telegram group then conduct a sign up method without taking too many information.
Just an e-mail and ERC20 address will be fine.
Take the total number of participants then divide it by how much you are offering.
They do that way back. Just telegram. But now, they prefer maximizing it for other campaigns. i.e. social media

There is no set limit on how much to pay for each person, usually projects use 1-2% of the total supply for bonuses. the fact that the number doesn't make much sense before the token is valid

at least if you want to get the results of the airdrop then you can do everything and as much as possible not to think about the price because if you think of the price it will only make you disappointed because it is not as expected.

You can look into these steps:
- The number of participants you want to give.
- The opening price of your token and that is if you know how to control that on exchange. This is a thing you can initiate as the developer.
- As regards the amount to give @smyslov has already made a good suggestion, which is very common to most airdrop projects. Limiting the amount to be airdropped helps to prevent unnecessary dump. It's good to see that you have a reasonable supply.

I would also recommend you list on a reasonable exchange with good volume.

It depends, but you should allocate at least 10% for airdrops and marketing stuffs, 10-20% for holding and trading activities. Rest let for future mining. And finally team shouldn´t have more than 10-20% of all tokens.  ;)

When it comes to rewarding airdrop or bounty it does not matter your pool for airdrop. What matters is the value attached to your token, and its variable also depend on the quality your project products carry.

I will give you few examples of how some airdrops were conducted.

1. XLM token has been used to serve airdrops before, worth millions of token and the token value still stands strong because it is a good project.
2. NRG also had a good airdrop, rewarding every single participants of over 150$ airdrop rewards also worth millions of $, and the product is still doing well today.
3. Then there are collectivego or whackd airdrop that worths nothing today.

The true question is, does your airdrop have value?

Well, it's all depend on your tokenomics but most of the times, coins such as that do have their token price pegged  above $0.1 base price and with airdrops becoming more restrictive over the years, I think around $10-30 worth of the token should be capped for individual participant. Gone are the days when project teams set up as much as $200 for airdrop campaigns, i think they already have a fill of huge dump from airdrop hunters

Most projects that i have promoted have always sticked to the basics of 1 - 3 % of total supply for airdrop / bounties.
So how is your project token distributed ? it will help in determining if airdrop / bounty tokens will be 1% or 3% total supply.

maybe you can provide a supply of% 10 for airdrops and promotions, but it all depends on you, and you can also limit for participants who take part in the airdrop held, don't forget to always check the participants who follow your airdrop because sometimes there are cheats by making multiple accounts

Most of the times, it is impossible to get things going easy with premined coins. You may distribute the coin properly but still it will not attract any investor because of being premined, cause coin price may dump anytime. However, try to add value to the coin before you distribute.

it's not all should be depends on the total allocation for the airdrop, mostly of companies were allocating a small percentage from the total tokens to be distributed through use airdrop method.
This must be a small amount of tokens to avoid the dump.

Its not about the dump thats why they giving away small. Its only an airdrop and giving off something will always help them to attract investors through a simple marketing giveaway. Also some companies are giving huge allocation to users that we not expect cause the price of their coin or token increase its value in due time. Like some other projects who did not expect a huge gain from airdropper cause the demand of their project is high. Answering OP question depends on many factor but every mentioned here is valid.
