Title: Projec Covid-19 : Supply to 20 families in Nigeria (Completed successfully).
Post by: CryptopreneurBrainboss on May 16, 2020, 07:10:22 AM
Information: If you'll be interested in donating or sponsoring future community outreach kindly send me a DM. Feel free to indicate on thread after donating for transparency. Funds recieved will be used to fund other outreach carried out by me or other members of the community specifically in Nigeria.

Second Community Outreach; Project Covid-19: Supply to 50 (Now 70) families in Nigeria, Images {Donate👇} (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5252309.msg54534451#msg54534451)

First community outreach (Supply to 20 families in Nigeria) completed successfully
Sponsor: Bitcointalk Project Covid19
Date: 14/05/2020
We are going to provide supply for 20 families in Nigeria. I and Lauda worked it out with one of our Nigerian forum member (@CryptopreneurBrainboss). It was really hard to figure out the best solution to keep a balance of the essentials and number of families. We have spent 5 to 6 working hours in last three days to figure it out and came up with a budget of $35.50 per family. I will list the items we have decided to include in the supply. The details update will be updated on this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5246208.msg54432150#msg54432150

But right now we need to focus on collecting the funds. The total we are looking at $710.

May I request everyone to spread the word so that we can quickly collect the funds and send the money to our friend so that he can start planning for everything, from buying the supplies to giving them out to the families in need.

Cheers,

List of items:
Garri - 10kg = 3,000 Naira ($7.5)

Rice - 10kg = 5,000 Naira ($12.5)

Beans - 10kg = 2,000 Naira ($5)

Palm oil 2lt = 1,000naira (use to cook beans) $2.5

Groundnut oil 2lt = 1000naira (use to cook rice) $2.5

Onions - 3kg = 1,000 Naira $2.5

Salt 2pack = 200 Naira $0.5

Curry 12pack = 500 Naira $1.25

Tomatoes 12pack = 500 Naira $1.25

Total = 14,200 Naira = $35.5 for each family.
Overall Total = 284,000 Naira = $710

Item's will be bought in bulk (cartons, bags) and shared equally among the families

$1 = 400 +/- Naira, the price for the foodstuffs aren't constant so price might increase due to the closure of market because of the Corona virus pandemic.

Additional notes: As a result of the 24hrs lockdown and closure of all market in the state (You can read more on that here (https://allafrica.com/stories/202005140567.html)), I volunteered to use my personal funds to commence the purchase of the foodstuffs and if possible deliver them to the 20 families before the 24hrs lockdown restarts. The foodstuffs are already on the way and when I recieve them, I'll update thread with pictures.

Due to additional logistics I decided to add an additional fund of $200 through my charity foundation {BrainbossCares}. Our donation to the outreach will be used to buy additional foodstuffs and to cover other costs to carry-out the outreach.

Work is already in process, I was asked by @Royse777 and @Lauda to create awareness about this outreach and that's what this thread is all about, no donation is too small.

Distribution completed successfully;
Thanks.

You are definitely a big brother watching people's back. This is great , I'm happy with some of these covid-19 mini campaign to help.
About the 20 families that you can deliver to directly, that means they are close around you because I understand that Nigeria is on lockdown across states , which means there are no free movement of vehicles from state to state (you understand what I'm saying for sure as omo iyami  ;D).

How can you now deliver products mentioned to people living in far North if you are not living around there or Western Nigeria.

Therefore, I don't know if you have thought of opening a mini covid-19 campaign for either Nigerians or other forum members so that they can use btc earning to purchase some of those products mentioned too.

Note : If you open a mini covid-19 campaign like some thoughtful members here have done, you can be sure the benefit is getting to members directly and that will save you much stress too.

You deserve my little merit by the way.

Edit: Meanwhile, I need such support but I don't know how you can get all that across

This outreach is limited to families living within my street (maximum community) due to the lockdown and restrictions of movement in the state and country at large. In future times, we might think of extending our outreach to families outside my state and when that those occurs other forum members will be contact to oversee the outreach.

The best we can do now is spread the news so donators can see this initiative and support it. You can contribute any amount, as no amount is too small.

I love the initiative that you want to help other people in times like this.

I have a suggestion though. I have asked it in Royse777's thread in Project Development but looks like no one responded (since I just edited it :D) but are you thinking of accepting other coins like ETH or XRP or any low transaction fee coins. We know already that the fee of Bitcoin is high already.

Thanks and spread the word and love  ;) ;)

Congratulations BrainBoss and a very big thank you to Bitcointalk.org for this initiative. Without missing words, this should be the very first time we're receiving this help from this community, though I stand the chance to be corrected; on this if such existed before I joined the community.

For the initiators, we thank you for the remembrance and this will be a new dawn for the good people of Nigeria. Nevertheless, this is a stepping stone towards mass adoption to these countries in consideration.

I have been seeing threads of this nature but for this Covid-19: "I am speechless". @Royse777, may you never lack in your life, also,  may this community never lack anything concerning its existence.

I bring greetings from Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nigeria, Abuja.

Hey Brainboss, I didn't see this thread though I did Royse777's. Well done! Looks like all these efforts are more numerous than I can keep track of (on this forum and elsewhere). Wonderful effort, I'll make sure to send this some love. A couple of quick comments:

1. Could you try and see if the suppliers you're buying food off might make small contributions of their own, or give a discounted rate (so you can reach more people?). It's business they would otherwise not have, and for a cause within their own communities too.
2. I wonder if we could do a little bit more in terms of sensitivity to the recipients being photographed? I think it's lovely to have them featured, but perhaps a small question to ask: "How are we using them to describe what we are doing to help/change?" Perhaps asking them to share a family moment they photograph themselves and send you on your phone (with all measures in place) could result in a better story of theirs =)

Hey @Royse77,

I would like to forward my previous week signature campaign reward to Project Covid-19 : Supply to 20 families in Nigeria.
I've already warned bounty manager CryptopreneurBrainboss about it. If I get it right, you will receive about 0,0016 btc from 1BitvestxmKKNRjxyHh5Mn1iWovFzs93Hr. This is not much, but hope it will help. Usually, payments are sent on Thursday, so expect funds to be +/- that day.

Good Luck  ;)

This will be amazing. We need funds to pay the debt to CryptopreneurBrainboss. He actually paid it out of his pocket and sent us the receipt. I am looking forward to all the members to donate as much as they can to the donation address.

@buwaytress, I am thinking of a game, a challenge type game like we used to have in Ice Bucket challenge againt ALS. Lately I discovered there are a lot of users in the forum do not know about these initiations and for this reason maybe we are not receiving many donations. We already have some queue to look after a user and to pay CryptopreneurBrainboss.

Thanks @nelson4lov

Everyone again, please donate as much as possible, donate now without waiting for tomorrow.

Cheers,

This is a wonderful initiative and it good to see that the forum is actually doing something positive to help the people that really needed.
However, I'm really amazed that @CryptopreneurBrainBoss paid for the process out of his pocket and it good that @Royse77 join this conversation so that @LogitechMouse opinion can be taken into consideration so that the project will get more fund.

Sorry LogitechMouse, I did not see your post earlier. Yeah, these days the fees are really high but I will recommend everyone to user low fees like 1 or 2 sat/B since it's not something that needs to be confirmed in urgent basis. If the Tx gets confirmed in even 24 to 48 hours, we should not have problem.

I personally would not like to have any other coins for this project but if anyone has any other coins in mind then they can swap this with any other users in the currency section and pay with BTC. However, I will talk to Lauda to see what is her opinion in this.

Cheers,

This is really great as well got a wonderful Nigerian that have his people in mind, this time of coronavirus pandemic, we know how things are hard for people, movement is so restricted, and this makes so many people not to have access to work for their daily living earnings. So, this is a good example, and I am happy this came from our fellow Nigerians on this forum. To speak out my mind you are indeed a role model.

Congratulations to cryptopreneurbrainboss and to all Nigerians, both on and off the forum, I'm glad this project was a success, and obviously it was surely going to be, as it is handled by trusted users who would even take out of their own private pocket to make it happen.

I'm sure many of those beneficiaries have had their businesses or livelihoods impeded by this virus, supporting them with those items is not a gesture they will forget in a hurry for sure.

It is a good thing to help others even there is a crisis we are facing I'm giving all my respect to everyone who contributes, donate and risk their lives to give other people a source of food. It is just a reflection that we have a good forum and contributors. We prove that helping is not only limited to help each other. I give a thumbs up and round of applause to all.

Cryptopreneurbrainbos is a great person and he deserves all the help he can get along with the other two forum members. I have made a tweet about the cause which I hope helps in some way to help raise the funds quickly.

Pictures tell a great deal of the story you're involved in and the pursuit you're in. I am moved by emotion to note how greatly you've been doing in your little but mighty way. Those who haven't been broke may note truly understand this gesture of yours and the smiles those families must've expressed at the sight of those gifts.

The vest bearing your name and that of this forum is a great innovation. It also will create more awareness. I applaud you bro! You're truly flying the Nigerian flag - on a very high pedestal, if I must say. You are truly a humanitarian.

How helpful and wonderful you are to help those in need especially in this difficult time. Hope they can appreciate what you do and don't forget to thank you. We know that you are not asking for any rewards for what you are doing but it feels good to be able to acknowledge your efforts right? Such actions and movements should be given attention today to work together and unite to overcome this disaster.

@vella85, I like and I retweeted what you tweeted anyway I can help in this way at least, so not only here in the forum get donors and sponsors who also want to help this cause.

As Michael Jackson's song "We are the World" - in this current pandemic we need to spread our love and care for others. I knew that we can surpass this COVID-19 through help and love that we can share to everyone.

Now I really understand how he busy from the past few days. Hoping to give donation as I get my payment here. More smiles to come😊

Thank you CryptopreneurBrainboss for doing this wonderful noble cause for the humanity and helping in whichever way you could to the needy people. Definitely people like you become an inspiration for others to come forward and do whatever possible from their end be it in terms of giving food, water, cash, transportation or lift etc all counts in this pandemic time. I am also making a small effort by providing the food to the security guard of the building at times so that he does not have to spend money from his pocket and becomes saving for him.

Congrats! Such great idea, @CryptopreneurBrainboss
I never saw Nigeria, so I don't know what exactly the families need. But, nice to see someone is helping his people. Doesn't matter if you can't supply enough food for one million family, But, your idea and your goal matters. never lose hope and keep it up.
Just as suggestion, you could also provide them some medical equipment and drugs. Many people die because they can't visit a doctor, unfortunately.

What a beautiful idea helping those in need. A job that comes with great responsibility and has been brilliantly executed. In crisis situation like this food and water is what everyone needs. You have done a great job for humanity, stay safe and stay blessed so that you can help more.

Just a suggestion if you also help the needy with medical aid.

This is nice bro.... So much of transparency coming out of you and Royse777. To realize that some people might not have access to the government covid-19 support for families and moving in to help with support of volunteers from this noble forum is commended. I have no finance (in relation to the bible where an Apostle of God said he has no silver nor Gold but....) to support but will appreciate you guys with little of my smerit  ;D

@boss, the pictures say it all. I believe the families are happy too.

Lets keep being nice. Stay safe all, to tell the story in later days to come. One love and peace.

This is indeed a kind gesture by cryptopreneurbrainboss personally I knew what some families are passing through in this pandemic period most Nigerian lives from hand to mouth due to bad and corrupt leaders  while those who should have taken up the responsibility of providing palliatives to their teeming populace but ended up in the hands of some corrupt party leaders who gave it out to their cronies and loyalist.
I am touched by this kind gesture these palliatives will surely help these needy families God will reward you bountifully IJN.

EDIT : Special thanks to @Lauda and @Royse777 with other donors in the community thank you for your kind-hearted and succor you had brought to those families with the help of cryptopreneurbrainboss.

You don't have to thank me because this won't had been possible without the help of the community (donators, @Lauda and @Royse777). I just saw an opportunity to put smile on people face and seized it by any means possible. The beneficiary have been thanking me all week long and those that are in serious need of assistance but weren't fortunate to recieve because of the limited supply of the palliative have been knocking on my door, trying their luck to see if they could also get some assistance. I have done the best I can and even given some pocket charge to help them and promise to inform them if something like this comes up again.

The high rate of poverty has increased as a result of those small jobs that helped the average Nigeria get some daily bread been put on hold due to the lockdown. We just pray this nightmare ends soon and everyone can return to their normal life. It was a pleasure distributing this foodstuffs and I would be honored to carry-out this exercise again, if this opportunity does present itself until then, we give to those that helped this outreach become a success.

Nice work and keep up the high spirit CryptopreneurBrainboss. Really require some of the time and devotion to do something for others during this pandemic situation and there are millions of people who have no job, money or food to eat. This is the time where we all need to come together and do whatever possible in our way. Glad to read more and more people are doing whatever best they could do from their side. Donated a small amount from my side to one of the foundations here working for people.

Thank you for this benevolent service rendered to humanity. God will continue to replenish all you do, sir.

We have good and great people in Nigeria doing angel in human services things no thanks to scammers and fraudsters ruining the reputation built by people of your kinds.
