Yes, but the OP mentioned btc at the last part. Or is it the default cryptocurrency for most of us? I do agree with BNB and ETH though. But all the others are just secondary choices, if you still have extra extra funds to spend with and no pressure of getting it back.

fwiw i'm a "1. Bitcoin" guy myself. i had a bit of XRP and some ETH.. the lockdown has provided more time than usual to read, listen & think, and i've come to the conclusion that, alongside some other, non-crypto, investments, Bitcoin is the one for me to hold. i'd be open to a gamble on something else, in theory, but as a serious holding, 1. Bitcoin.

I think it's safe to invest on bitcoin as this year it was bitcoin's halving, but I also like ETH since they will be launching the ETH 2.0 this year and I am hoping that will bring some hype and improvement to its price, also if its gonna be a success, I think ETH is already due for a rise.

it's very uncharacteristic of ETH since this coin in the past is very bullish, maybe this year we will see the love from investors and it will pump.

At the present moment it s suggested to invest in bitcoins only. Recently bitcoins halving is done and the price of bitcoins is expected to rise, so it is better to invest in bitcoins to get the benefits.

Man you should check out the market cap and individual growth of every coin. During this time I don't have any other priorities in cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. Specially now that the block halving was just finished. If you know the trend, then you know what comes next. There's time for alt season and there's time for Bitcoin to rise.

To have more bitcoins i'm currently holding:

My first choice is bitcoin because have a chance to lift the price to the highest price, and that makes the altcoin will be hard to compete with bitcoin, even they don't have a chance to compete with bitcoin. The second and third choice will be ethereum and bnb, but I think there are many altcoins will take their position to increase too. But ethereum will have a big chance than the other altcoin.

You can invest in bitcoin, but you need to wait for a while until bitcoin price can go down to the low price so you can buy bitcoin at that time. But it is no problem if you want to buy bitcoin right now as we don't know what will happen with bitcoin price. We don't have a right clue about if bitcoin price will increase in the next hour or next days or not, but you need to take the risk so you won't be disappointed later.

Bitcoin is already proven for how many years until now,but why you have doubt investing in bitcoin? Bitcoin is better than altcoin to hold.Don't forget that this is the king of all crypto. If i choose altcoin ,i will invest in Ethereum,bnb and xlm.

For me getting bias there is a chance that the market price of the BNB takes over because it has rapidly increasing value but still, it is getting volatile it takes time before it gets more market value of the coin but still doesn't forgot other altcoins if we are going to see the ripple is one of the top three coins but now it is falling down unexpectedly and one of the coin increasing today str stellar and the monero unexpected right? It depends on the people if they are trying to support this kind of coin. But there is a huge potential that this coin makes more market income for the next coming years not now but soon because it takes time.


Still, bitcoin is the one who conquers the whole market of the cryptocurrency because it is already the one who starts and we called the king among all the coins. But before this got its market price today it takes long support.

Is there anything that stops you from buying again? we're in total control if we want to buy more and add to the current bitcoin that you're holding. In reality, the more the better. That what should we are targeting of gaining more in preparation for a sudden bull run. Yes, it's slowly going up and that's a beautiful motion for it rather a quick rise.

ETH for staking.

Ripple, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero etc. These coins are being discussed for so long coz they  are next in line after the bitcoin but we should also look for another coins that has a massive potential. I've seen some 400% pump from the other coins, XIO a just launched coins gain 200% same with Uptrennd (1UP) 200% increased in a day. It seems like someone is playing around trying to distract us all from looking at the bitcoin.

Yeah Bitcoin will be the main for me for long-term investment. I won't look at so many other coins because in my opinion it won't be like bitcoin to slowly rise in the long run.

Maybe we will try Ethereum 30% invested and that's the coin I will shake in 2020.

For coins at stake tend to be more disliked because it's too long for me.

I didn't invest or buy any coin other than bitcoin during the last two years. And to be honest, am not regretting it.
My plans for 2020 or the coming years will not change as I only believe in Bitcoin.

@OP, I think you should do the same and forget about those shitcoins if you are a long-term holder.

I agree BTC is a worth asset for sure but I will not dump my entire savings in a single coin is like a very risky move and I will not be depending on it, rather I would invest in some altcoins too which are popular as well.

Eth, LTE, XMR too powerful assets and a worth investment as well so it's better to stick with some alts as well this is my opinion.

I do and why not? anytime is the best time to invest in bitcoin as long as it's not yet touched the final halving that will stop the bitcoin inflation.

From your list I know of only two Rivetz and Electroneum, but it seems that Rivetz will soon disappear because it can be seen from Coinmarketcap data that trading volume is running low, and Electroneum is pretty good in my opinion.

Of course, if you trust altcoin why not with Bitcoin because the price will certainly always go up, although sometimes it often goes down but in the end it will rise again.

Agree with your BNB and ETH picks. Also, personally I believe in LTC and EOS. Those usually go up when Bitcoin moonshots.

How did you staked electroneum? The coin is not a POS coin, I'm pretty confused here, and ETN is the only good coin on your list, if you can still sell I suggest you do and buy better coins like BNB Token, OKB token, ethereum, Cosmos Tezos Cardano etc

a promising investment in the first place is bitcoin because of the movements of all altcoins that follow the movements of bitcoin and the second is ETH, while coins come from the distribution of bets, the prospect is less attractive to me because the price chart movement is too long.

Yes, we can invest in bitcoin before bitcoin price is going up. I want to invest in binance, ethereum, and some other coins like litecoin, dash, xrp.

The first best coin to rock this year and which is better all the time is Bitcoin, thus that's the best coin i can rock this year without fears. Also I won't say Bitcoin is slowly growing up because it is still highly valued and no coin has even gotten close to it. Another I can look at is Ethereum because it has shown and proven till date to be stronger than most altcoins; having in mind its upgrade is coming soon. Binance coin, Xlm and ADA also made my list but not in a larger portion when compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

I would suggest you invest in bitcoin for long term. Hhhmmm other altcoins,you should invest on some blockchain coins, there ar plenty of them like ERD elrond network an ILC ilcoin.

Just hold ETH and BNB, or a few altcoins in the top 20 coinmarketcap. I believe you will make a lot of money investing long term in these altcoins. Don't put too much hope and money on bullshit altcoins because in the long run their prices will inevitably keep falling.

Investing in top coins like BNB or ETh is always a good choice for you because the market is starting to have new growth, and this will make you a lot of profit. However, you are not always lucky to make a profit because the market is very volatile when there is bad news and never stands still.

In this list, I only see Electroneum as a future. So you can keep buying and keep them for long term. Also investing in ETH and Binance is always a good and smart investment option. You will never fail with that investment

Indeed bitcoin is a reliable crypto to invest for short or long term. Its proven to be profitable and less risky compared to altcoins.

However its good having alts too in our crypto portfolio, I have eth, bnb and iost.

You can hold whatever coins you like as long as you did your research because we are using our hard earned money to invest so better to be cautious.

While BTC is good, there are other projects too that are cheap and can potentially earn 100X times than holding a fraction of BTC.  Most of the time they say its only BTC that matters but when it comes to making a profit by the time of bullrun, its always those cheap altcoins that will make you rich.  Holding some altcoins isn't so bad when they are among the top 50 coins.

For long term investments I would still go with major coins such Ehtereum ,xrp, binance, trx and BTC. There are some coins that have been on rise lately such as chainlink and Tezos, you could have them in your bag but make sure to visits its price list from time to time and add NRG on your list as well.

In my investment list, ETH and Binance are the top choices. Besides, I have hold some altcoins outside the top 10 which are QKC and CMT ... these are altcoins I value and have the potential to increase sharply in the upcoming bull run.

That is the best choice you have among the coins you have mentioned. And apart from the list, I don't know about the coins you have on your second list, I haven't even heard or seen them on any website before.

So, you should invest in Bitcoin first before talking about investing in any other cryptocurrency. If it's not Bitcoin, then it should be any of the top cryptocurrencies in the market, you can invest in Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, and other top cryptocurrencies. Stop taking risks by investing in coins you are not 100% sure about.

i am looking at Tron up there i believe it will get there very soon its just slow and steady i love what they are building. Like they say great things take time my number one for 2020 is Tron

Major altcoins will keep their positions in the matket as proven during the first five months of 2020.
Since last year, i was looking at some new projects developped at top of MimbleWimble protocol like Grin nd Beam. Both are still under developement with promising features. I suggest you to keep an eye to Grin coin which is already accepted here in the forum to pay for copper membership.

Still not sure about the potentials in Tron, although it took a lot of attention since last year. I would bet on ethereum instead.

That's the safest for a long term investment of course. Moreover, we have passed the fundamental factor that is quite interesting, namely halving. If history repeats itself, we will enjoy the rally in the coming months. The highlight of this FOMO halving period is 10k $, don't worry about a pullback, strengthen mentally and enjoy the next rally. Well, this is all just based on historical data, a new history can occur :)

there are indeed some dead coins, but i have ignored them for a long time. i thought, i had given up with it. at the moment i only focus on ethereum and TRX, maybe in the future i will invest in BTC  ;) :).

well i think apart from bitcoin and ethereum there are few altcoins that are worth mentioning like ChainLink .  From the historical perspective if you look into the result https://buyandhold100crypto.com/ (https://buyandhold100crypto.com/) i think it's safe to say you don't need to over diversify your portfolio instead i think one should stick with the top 10 or top 20 coins for the long term.

Both of us have just a similar list, BNB and ETH are the best among altcoins. But l mentioned them definitely after BTC, other cryptocurrencies can be profitable, but as you know BTC is the king and the most profitable, but absolutely for long-term. It is the safest way to get a good profit from BTC by investing wisely and using your valuable experience. But it seems there is no need to make any research, that is why BTC and some top altcoins are absolutely enough for making the best profit for either 2020 or 2021.

We could go higher on Bitcoin especially at this Bitcoin halving event where predictions say that the price would reach $11k at some point where the day is unknown.
Ethereum that many people are already great when you want to spare some money on altcoin for profit.

BTC and ETH are still a favorite for me, however this year and coming even though a lot of new coins / tokens have been born now. Price of other alt coins in 2020 seems to go up and down and some even have no value at all, it depends on the patterns and strategies used by the team to develop their projects.

Why you mention this two and not Ethereum? I think ETH has a great chance to hit the moon this year because ETH 2.0 with PoS is on the way. So, i think is a relevant year for this relevant coin.

I'd love to see that ETH hitting to the moon, however, I don't think that ETH 2.0 is enough for that big achievement.
For ETH to rise that big again, I like to believe that it needs bitcoin to hit to the moon first, like a new ATH that would make this market crazy once again.

I'd say you stay in the top 50 altcoins because that is where you will get profit when cryptocurrency starts going up again.

The thing here is that, all cryptocurrency out there just follows the price of Bitcoin. If Bitcoin where to fall, all cryptocurrency will fall down in price too. If Bitcoin where to raise in price, then it's a 50/50 chance that altcoins will follow Bitcoin price too. So it's a little bit risky to invest in other unknown altcoins to be honest. Except for stablecoin of course.

Definitely ETH 2.0 will not hit us in 2020 which means ETH cannot be a coin for 2020 ;D. But when ETH will include staking feature, I guess it will find easy routes to moon for sure. Because, ETH is one of the few coin which is having a real world application and when adding an additional feature which will definitely encouraging it towards a new ATH.

A wrong suggestion IMHO. Do you really know that how easier to cover all 50 coins? I guess it will be possible if you buy only one coin/token of each of top 50 (except BTC) then you may able to cover all top 50 coins. But, it will not be affordable for most of average investors. Moreover, most of the coins in coinmarketcap are manipulated to have top ranks. Do not get yourself deceived.

Sure, I never disagreed that people could make a lot of money trading alts. But knowing how much altcoins are out there, best of luck actually picking the right ones to short term "invest" in. It's a huge huge gamble if you don't know what you're doing.

I choose ETH and ADA, both coins has shown an impresive movement so far. ETH price currently stable at $210-$2015 and I didn't find a sign that the price will decrease, if you compare with bitcoin chart ETH is more bullish rather than bitcoin. Moroever with ETH 2.0 that will be launched in July 2020 I guess it is reasonable if the price increase to prefer that event. As for ADA, I don't know I really like this coin movement especially in a few day ago. So I will buy this coin because its price still low and have a high potention for the price increase even it will touch its all time high.

My 2020 portfolio comprises Bitcoin, XLM, and Proof of Stake coins like DIVI and Dash. Why PoS coins? I'm astonished with this idea because it simplifies PoW consensus and makes cryptocurrency easy to earn by the common man. Owning a masternode does not really require technical skills as compared to PoW mining.

Always prioritize the investment on bitcoin and never set aside this cryptocurrency because in the future you will know it's worth it. I have been doing several investments in other altcoins but in my portfolio, you will see the big portion of bitcoin there and a small portion in Ethereum, and Binance coin. We already see the big improvement in the price of bitcoin and there's no doubt in the next coming months we will see more pumping on its price. Bitcoin is always my top choice when it comes to cryptocurrency investment and this thing will really be a great asset to our success.

As a matter of fact my bet is only on Bitcoin, since last bullrun in 2017 altcoins have never been in good shape since then, only bitcoin was able to grow, it seems that the only hope left for altcoins now is if Bitcoin rise to another new ATH level

I always looked for a coins with a passive income, so if I invest into a coin, it should give me some interest. For me the most profitable coins with staking program are: Tezos and ICON.  ;) Waiting for the Ethereum PoS, but do not know what will be the yearly interest, someone knows it?

If you look at reality, Bitcoin is very easy to manipulate, and the coin is very volatile when the news appears. If you go against the crowd, you will win because I have carefully looked at this market during the past three years. Of course, this is not always the case, but in general, if you choose the path of fewer people, you will make a huge profit from this market.

for now, I am more focused on investing in bitcoin and ETH because these two coins have good prospects for the next 5-10 years, while the other altcoins are still following the movements of the two coins.

We all know why Bitcoin is in the top and why Ethereum is listed second in the list. I choose Link because it has the potential to reach $10 before the year ends. It is already trading above $4 and I think it just a matter of time it reaches $5. Binance coin is trading below $20, it is the right time to take a position if you are loking for quick profit. Recently Binance has launched its Bitcoin mining pool and I think it is only a matter of time that this coin touches $50.

It is difficult to estimate which coins will rise in the near future or this year. If you want and believe in the first two you mentioned, Binace and Ethereum certainly have great growth potential. But Bitcoin is still number one.
Although these are not the strongest cryptocurrencies, they are the ones that I hold for a long time: XLM, OGN, LBRY, XCASH, NRG or WAVES. I would see these as candidates for possible growth. But the decision is up to you.

ATH was achieved two years ago, if your assessment is right, there seems to be an opportunity to pump if the alt season comes. If you are sure and have analyzed this well then please try it, as long as you understand the risk. But it's a token, not a coin.

BTC and ETH, I think it's a good choice. By choosing a coin whose market is strong, we can reduce risk. We are enjoying developments after halving, rumors and news can greatly affect the market, so don't miss information.

The first list is very good and that is what's in mine but with more addition, which includes XLM and BNB with little ADA although still considering to add more of it; I just have much faith in them that they will do well because their teams have been active and also working hard as well. About the other list, actually you know the reason you are holding, but if its for me I would have let go before now. Most of the cryptocurrency that launched in 2017 where died now. I can't imagine if I continue to hold those tokens that I earned back then. After the massive bull run, we can't get another profitable coin to invest with unlike the old days. Bitcoin still the best crypto investment, you'll see how bitcoin been dominate this past years. Binance have also a huge impact in crypto world. So probably you should put huge money in its basket.

There are two opinions, some say that more you diversify more potential profit you get with a minimal risk, others say that it is better to focus on one thing and completely understand it and after that you can get the profit.

for 2020 its best to look at coins with existing users and an exdisting application . for example ludena protocol already had 3 million users in korea and will be launching their blockchain platform soon.

I'm sure some alts will outperform these two, but most won't. I would just have Bitcoin in my list, but Ethereum does I believe stand out some distance from other alts both in strength of use case and in history of development, and with 2.0 coming, and with it staking, I think the current price of $200 looks cheap.

Well for the most part most of my holdings is BTC. Then ETH, LINK, Tezos and ATOM make up the rest in that order. I'm lookimg for some micro caps to invest in so I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread in case someone drops on I'll be interested in.

Of course i will invest on bitcoin for 50% of my crypto portofolio, then i think xlm and doge have potential in 2020 and 2021. Xlm seems its already going to reversal from its posion, i think it possible to hit 2k satoshi in the next year. And doge have potential to up until above 50 satoshi in the end of year.

I had many in my mind when the year started but looking at how things are doing right now I feel like the playing field is leveled and I do not have a set number of coins which will be better than others. It is either they live or they survive. Although, there are some among the low ranked coins that may eventually rise in future, however, selecting them and being sure of what the outcome would be might be very hard.

But sometimes people are reluctant to invest with Bitcoin because the price Bitcoin is more expensive than others. For Altcoin we have to really look at their project whether it has good potential or not. I personally chose to invest with IPX (Tachyon Network) in this year.

Ludena is a good coin but the token is not yet launched or traded and we can't expect if that was good coin to invest because we will need to see the performance that will be made by ludena token after it will be traded on exchange site.
