Needs work to make it shave ready. One of the scales is broken as shown in the picture. It was held together with thread which I removed to clean a little. So don't let the broken scale bother you. In fact, you'll be getting a good deal on a great blade because of it. If your reservation to buying this is you not knowing just how cool it is to use a straight razor (Mach 3? I don't know what interest a dual-edge straight razor would be.

I have one I plan on restoring one. Then I have a Gilchrist, which is pretty cool (Lincoln was carrying a Gilchrist pocket knife when he was shot). It just looks like it was kind of restored with some kind of grinder or something. But it's a big blade. I'm not sure what size, but it's heavy and way bigger than 5/8.
