Title: Dear newbies, this is how you get merits
Post by: Bossian on May 24, 2020, 07:33:49 AM
Dear newbies,

You were told you need to work hard to rank up? You were told you need to write constructive essays about the origin of the blockchain technology? You were told you will need to post the most convincing technical analysis (as long as they are bullish)?

Well, it's time to think outside the box!

Or better: it's time to stop overthinking  :-* Sometimes, a simple approach is much more effective.

This is how you get merits: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg54481322#msg54481322

You are welcome.

You are welcome.

lol as you Know, there are no clear rules for merits.
According to the definition, merits should be given for quality and constructive posts, but we are all different and have different criteria and standards.
I don't think there is really any help, nor clear rules that would help new members and gave them an idea of what to do to get the merits.
It seems that sex and naked girls really sell everything, and these motives are used in many commercials and they also help in getting merits, as we see now  :D

I guess nobody told newbies that they could get merited for their humor?

I would have given one myself if that was posted in our local board (I am a bit biased when giving merits).

Question : Did you get many merits from WO gangs? I only see 1 merit you get in WO thread

He got 15 in the WO thread, and gave back 8 there.

He got the most merits for this post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124985.msg51691396#msg51691396), which some people deemed somewhat humorous.

That's what people call, your difficulty in judging and guessing the nature of someone so that it makes you confused when that person makes, behaves and gives something (Merit) not according to your expectations.

This human has an astrological nature, which is often said by others is a mysterious trait or other words that are difficult to guess in their actions, you cannot blame them for others. the possibility also can happen for you, Merit does not have to be given to those who have good posts, Merit can also be given to who they like.

If that's the problem- Merit, so you have to be able to accept and understand, that person. 'facts' what happened.
When they like to do freedom, you can't do the same thing as them, because they have thoughts that are full of surprises.

I don't think so if they will get merits into WO because most of the merits earned by the users are coming from the quality post and contents they are giving, sharing and posting into our forum. Merits are given to the people who deserve for having a good output it depends on the person if they like the content. We cannot push other people to give merit because still, they have the rights who deserve their merits.

I see some grudge here :) and I think I may also know why: WO veterans seem to be mostly bullish on Bitcoin, while what I caught from Bossian posts seem to be bearish.
However, not my business... it's something else I want to tell OP:

This is how you get merits: https:

It would be nice from you to put somewhere near that link a NSFW sign, since some may not like this kind of advises coming without the tiniest warning.

However, not my business... it's something else I want to tell OP:
If that is the attitude by OP, I am sure he/she did not get even any single merit from WO. They don't like bearish or spreading FUD members, most of them are ignored. That's why you always have seen this, " #stronghands "

Posting images or memes was great humor, it can be talk thousands of thoughts and ideas within a single image.
Most of the men admire sexy photos, WO members are true men, and giving 1 merit is not bad.

I have no one rule in giving merits it could be a post from something that generates my interest or it could be something that answered my question or if I see efforts in making a post even though I already know the information, there is no fast rule and it's up to the giver.

That's correct. Also getting into WO is like getting into another world, compared with (most of) the rest of the forum.
This means that while I have no problems at all to see such images in WO, on the rest of the forum a NSFW warning is necessary.

It's true that WO gang hate FUDsters and Permabears, but that doesn't mean that they won't accept reasonable bearish arguments. OP seems to be a permabear but still have got 10+ merits from WO.
Moreover, in my personal experience, WO gang is very generous in sharing merits when you post something interesting.

As a good merit earner I'm not highly recommended going to wallet observer because most of the merits we can gain is came from the quality contents and post we are sharing into our forum. It depends on the people if they want to give you merit they have the right if you deserve to get the merit or not. Not all the time there is a source of merit in WO. OP some of your merits came there is we can say that there is a chance to get merit there.

I have no one rule in giving merits it could be a post from something that generates my interest or it could be something that answered my question or if I see efforts in making a post even though I already know the information, there is no fast rule and it's up to the giver.

Also in WO, there are some questions and follow up detail you can post or comment on the thread that can help other people about their problems. We have a different perspective on giving merits it depends if we like the content and caught our interest. Still there is no reason to hold merit to help others to rank up.

Well, it's time to think outside the box!
I never try to think "outside the box" since it doesn't fit with my way. A veteran member may earn merits by applying a simple approach but it probably doesn't work to me. In my understanding, sometimes merit is something quite subjective. So, even if it works for a certain member, it doesn't always work for others. We are better to try with common ways, even it also has no guarantee to earn single merit.  :D

Congrats, OP! You just discovered America. Because before your post nobody didn't know for what you can get merits in WO thread. But I think it's not a problem at all - there is no rule which say that you can get merit just by posting serious stuff.
And maybe I'm confusing it with Serious discussion board, but I think that newbies can't post in Wall Observer thread, so your suggestion may not work for them.

wallet wall observer
FTFY ;)

No, newbies can post but they'll soon get ostracised or ignored if they talk bollocks like the op  ::)

Well, I would give a bunch of Merit for substantial or humorous FUD against Shitcoins like XRP, BSV or BCH.  ;)

Who told you that?
Keep reading consipracy theories by people who never got any merit and you'll end up writing essays that most people will see and choose the TLDR approach.
I've seen plenty of short, funny posts with merit and a lot of long posts not worth reading.
