Trustwallet is a solid wallet for many popular crypto and ERC 20 tokens in mobile. JAXX wallet has a new overall design with integrated exchange for mobile. Coinomi is another that fills the gap. If you are into bitcoin, Electrum mobile wallet allows many things like signing the address. Myetherwallet's Ethereum wallet is a good looking safe wallet for ETH and ERC tokens.

I agree
Coinomi is a great option for newbies. Just store your seed in a paper in a secure place, never online.

I use it for years without any problems.

Electrum is good also for bitcoin only.

JAXX wallet has a new overall design with integrated exchange for mobile.
Jaxx is closed source wallet, you should avoid it.

You can try using exodus, it's good option if you want to hold little amount altcoins. But, if you want to hold large amount altcoins, I suggest to use ledger or trezor wallet for better security than web wallets.

Personally, I never use coinomi... but I think you should read this WARNING - Coinomi Wallet CRITICAL Vulnerability Made Me Lose My Life Savings (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5114708.80) and think twice before you want to use it

If you want to hold bitcoin, like anyone said... you can choose electrum. Because it's safe and easy to use for both newbies or pros

YOu can try to use imtoken or trustwallet, both are very easy to be used by a newbie like you. There was also a complete guide about how to use it. Both have very good reputation among the crypto users.

That's really worth trying them all and get your impression by use those wallets.

I highly recommend you use Trust Wallet, this is the best mobile wallet in my opinion up to now. First I use others like ImToken but they are too slow and complicated. Their Trust Wallet is lightweight, fast, and complete. They are also part of the Binance exchange so I am sure they are safe  ;)

If you are looking for multi-cryptocurrency  wallet then you should either go for Exodus wallet or the Atomic wallet. Both are available for Android and iOS. I have been using them for more than a year now and have not faced any issues. Atomic wallet is a bit slow as compared to Exodus but it has more features. Both wallets are free to download and they also have desktop version.

There are different kinds of wallet that we can use these days I have tried many of them including the IMtoken but the ones I have been using for years is the Coinomi which over the years I can walk around from city to city without worrying because I carry with me my coins wallet.

Its this that we are often afraid of which is why we are looking for ways that we can go travel with us our coins. We are left thinking because the recommendation for us to use is the hard drive wallet like bitcoincore or electrum. But mobile wallet is also acceptable such as electrum app and coinomi.

This is the list for the reliable wallet https://99bitcoins.com/bitcoin-wallet/android/

There are also some wallets that not yet mentioned on that list like trustwallet, eido wallet, crypto.com wallet and many more. These are trusted wallet.

Coinomi is also closed source.... if it is a problem for OP, he really should avoid mobile wallets for altcoins imo.

This problem with coinomi only happened in desktop version, which is not the case of the OP.

I read this a few time ago, and this "critical vulnerability" probably never happened and it happened only in desktop version (which is not OP case)

Hi bitmover, the desktop issue you mentioned was fixed immediately, but it was concluded that no user lost funds due to it as it could not have been exploited. The user who reported it was trying to extort Coinomi, you can read the detailed forensic report here: https://twitter.com/kimionis/status/1131945228506738688.

I like coinomi and I have no problems with it, but I would never trust more than the price of my smartphone in a mobile wallet.

Well i am not a big fan of mobile wallets though i have tried few.. most recent one was trust wallet nice UI and simple to use. Similarly there is Abra wallet if you want to trade from wallet. If you are looking for open source wallet then Edge (https://edge.app/) is pretty good.

This is just my own thoughts, coinomi wallet is not bad at all but trust wallet has better features, you raised point about erc20 tokens, on trust wallet you won't need to add tokens manual like you have to on coinomi wallet, once an erc20 token is sent to your ethereum address it will display without you adding them yourself

IMO, Electrum had been the most user-friendly application for me.
Either android application or for laptop and personal computers. It's the best without any hassle.

Now, that is for bitcoin.
If you are looking for tokens under Ethereum then, there is Metamask.
Try to keep it divided that way.
Don't use a universal application and lose it all in a blink.

Believe me the trust wallet is the mobile wallet that comes in handy to help newbies with everything they need, both ease and convenience.
The trust wallet, helps you store a single private key, and helps you access atleast over 6 different blockchain wallets on a single application.

I can recommend you to go for a mobile wallet with cool UX and UI. There are a lot of cool wallets in these category but please take a look at these wallets: AtomicWallet, Imtoken or Trust wallet. I have used and trusted these wallets. But ensure to download them directly from their website to avoid phishing wallets.

Electrum - For bitcoin
Coinomi for multiple

but as mentioned coinomi is closed-source thats why i dont totally trust up on storing all part of my stash.

When it comes to long term aspect then its still best on using MEW for erc20 and corresponding open-source wallets
for another chain coins out there.

Personally i would recommend you Trust wallet because it has more support features than anyother wallet and also comes with the reputation of binance group.
Secondly if you are looking for some banking services alongwith a wallet then you should try crypterium wallet but the downside is that only a handful of coins are supported there at the moment.

A cryptocurrency wallet is a software program that stores private and public keys and interacts with various blockchain to enable users to send and receive digital currency and monitor their balance. If you want to use Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, you will need to have a digital wallet.

For bitcoin mobile wallet, you have a lot of choice.

They are android wallets but if you're into multicurrency wallet, TrustWallet, ImToken and Coinomi are the wallets that I usually read and being suggested by other members.

I'm glad coinomi wallet suits your need, I always find my way back to coinomi wallet after i started using trust wallet, the only thing trust wallet does better than coinomi is the ability to add erc20 tokens automatically, on coinomi wallet you have to add contract address yourself

First, I assume you know how to safeguard your private keys, recovery seeds, backup phrases etc. The reliable crypto wallet which I can recommend is Trust wallet, this is because you can use it to store more coins like BTC, ETH and so on. However, I do not know the type of coin you want to store, therefore before doing so, always check if the coin is supported on trust wallet; you can do this by asking the team of the project, asking the community or searching the coin on trust wallet to be sure.

in Defi, we really need safety because the law is not here, we are easy to be fooled and lose money.  So recommend to your friends the most prestigious wallets.  I have been in this market for 3 years and picked out the most prestigious wallets.  we have 3 wallets that I trust the most, Mew wallet, Trust wallet and Coinbase.  But be careful with Coinbase, only users who confirm identity and are Americans are eligible for wallet use.  Please consider.

It is really good you are seeking the Information beforehand, as there are some people who might end up using some fake wallets from playstore. Now going back to the main business, the wallet I will strongly recommend is Trust wallet, because it supports a lot of coins and tokens, it can even be used for staking coins too. Others i would recommend is Coinomi, Engin and Imtoken, they are also good in their own ways, but I kind of like Trust wallet more because of its user friendly nature thus suitable for a newbie.

Why just take a part of https://www.myetherwallet.com/ and recommend that? Instead of https://mewconnect.myetherwallet.com/#/, I think the user should go to access that full site and then choose whatever he wants for himself.
However, since Trust wallet is already there, I myetherwallet should just be a second option or should not be used at all.

How easy do you need in a mobile wallet? One wallet can't be good for the situation. For mobile trust wallet is the best, only for top coins Coinbase is the best, but there you can't store ERC-20 altcoins. Recently Atomic wallet has had great performance, there you can swap any coins for a low fee. I don't think it's right that the atomic wallet started to support all coins.

Actually Coinomi is good enough for the newbie. Moreover, this mobile wallet is good in security-focused, multiple assets, and also cross-platform. However, it is not open-source. You may analyze one mobile wallet, Edge. This wallet supports multiple cryptos, open-source, and also very friendly for the beginner because it is easy to use. You can get it on the Google Playstore or even iOS. However, of course, everyone has their own favorite. Commonly using the Edge and also trustwallet because they are easy enough. But of course, if it talks about the high security, it should be the hardware.

Imtoken
Electrum(Bitcoin)

When in browser:

metamask

Depends on what coin you do have since they do have their own respective wallet specially
if they do differ in blockchain.

Any kind of wallet we can use, because we know how much feature it has in one wallet. Newbie should know only why we are using wallets. That's it, every wallet will be easier to use for newbies. You should be very careful before using any wallet. Don't download any wallet from any sites, without an official website or play store. Now choose any wallet as your purpose.

I hope it is for temporarily keeping small amount of coins to use on the go. If you are planing for using your phone as a long term storage, its not going to be a good idea.
Anyway, be extra careful when installing and downloading those wallets suggested by users. Check their reviews and see what "real" people have to say.
If you are looking for long term storing, go for hardware wallets.

Any non-custodial wallets will do, The good thing about those wallets is that you have control with your private keys. Some of them are just using passphrase but I found out that those passphrases can be converted on individual private keys which is cool you can find a tool (iancoleman) that converts it online but better do it offline when converting. The famous phrase "your keys your coins" which make sense. The famous crypto .com has created a noncustodial wallet search it on playstore.

Open source and non custodial wallets give trustablity and complete control over your funds so if you want to pick any wallet for mobile then check those things. But better go for hardware wallets if you want to hold your cryptos longer since most mobile wallets can be hacked if you done small mistakes.

Coinomi wallet is good but it has one annoying flaw that makes me abandoned the wallet and move my private key into trust wallet, that's when ever I get a new token deposited into my coinomi wallet I won't know which or what token it is until I use etherscan to check my ether address but on trust wallet you get everything working automatically

That's a fact about coinomi, you have to add smart contract address before you will be able to send out tokens that got deposited in your ethereum address, very annoying, trust wallet get the job done, for trust wallet it's bye bye to manually adding smart contract address

Well as many mentioned, it would be Electrum and Coinomi. Electrum has a desktop version as well and that's quite nice. However don't hold too many coins in such mobile wallet.
I don't trust any wifi networks that I connect in public and you never know when the hacker has the access to your phone already.
Consider investing for an hardware wallet as well.
True! The problem with mobile wallet is its security. We all know that when we connect with an open wifi network, it's easier to be attacked than hard-cable connections. Therefore, as long as those mobile wallets don't provide a certain security method to secure our wallet, I wouldn't choose them to hold tokens!

I recommend trustwallet, because I have used it for 2 years, others are also good like imtoken, coinus, coinomi and others, I prefer trustwallet, because the UI is simple but elegant, very suitable for beginners or advanced ones.

The best mobile wallet is Trustwallet, it's one of the more safety wallets with a lot of different coins supported. I used it since I starded to buy and hold cryptocurrencies and I can say certainly that is one of the easiest to use

Well as many mentioned, it would be Electrum and Coinomi. Electrum has a desktop version as well and that's quite nice. However don't hold too many coins in such mobile wallet.
Electrum already on mobile wallet either, it's not like coinomi, electrum for Bitcoin only.

True! The problem with mobile wallet is its security. We all know that when we connect with an open wifi network, it's easier to be attacked than hard-cable connections. Therefore, as long as those mobile wallets don't provide a certain security method to secure our wallet, I wouldn't choose them to hold tokens!
Don't keep your private key on mobile wallet and don't conneting on wifi public.

True and you already mentioned twice (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5252089.msg54531897#msg54531897) about trustwallet.

If I have choose, I will use ledger hardware wallet for mobile phone because more secure than software. you can read https://www.ledger.com/ledger-goes-mobile-ledger-live-app-now-available-for-ios-and-android-smartphones can be use via bluetooth for ledger Nano X and use USB OTG for ledger Nano S.

What wallet did you want to use? ERC-20 based or focused on some coin with own blockchain like bitcoin? For ERC-20 Try ImToken but for the others maybe you can try blockchain.info application or maybe XWallet and the last one maybe Trust Wallet, Basically if you have some money maybe you can buy ledger nanon because it's more safe, Cheers mate.

If you want a trusted wallet for stashing your Erc20 tokens then i'd suggest you trying MyEtherWallet aka MEW. It's basically a wallet for you tokens that you either send or deposit it. So it's a handy app if you just want to use your phone to check on your coins rather than opening your PC/Laptop.

Since the beginning of the crypto I always use the Trustwallet wallet because the wallet is very reliable and we can rely on storing our assets and until now it is still safe for us to use and no problem, but now also many wallets that we can use but for security I have not tried, and I can see trustwallet very many crypto users are using.

I think there are so many wallets for cellphones, including Trust Wallet (https://trustwallet.com/), Atomic Wallet (https://atomicwallet.io/), Coinbase (https://wallet.coinbase.com/), and many others.
But I hope you can visit the official website to download the wallet. Never download that is not from the official site, because it is scams.

You are right, many scammers who manipulate a wallet that has a good reputation. there are so many wallets now, it all depends on our comfort in using. but I often use a wallet that is on the exchange rather than using a personal wallet.

That is also a better choice to have ultimate security for our funds and there is no barrier to access our funds anywhere we can use our mobile, connecting viw bluetooth looks new for me definitely I have to buy a one for me.

@OP as others saying coinomi and trust wallet are best ever app to store multiple cryptos in your smartphone but it is nit recommended though because our smartphones are easy to hack with simple clipboard trojans via installing an application from random source.

TrustWallet for beginners is very suitable because it is responsive, easy and doesn't lag like new wallet or old applications like Imtoken are increasingly slow to use. TrustWallet is also suitable for many cryptocurrencies that support and work with Binance as the largest exchange at this time. I have been using it for 2 years. and Imtoken might have been 3 years since the apps became slow I moved using TrustWallet. and also trust wallets are often used in various cryptocurrency events because they support tokens/coins when used in the event. So it's not wrong if many people recommend TrustWallet

mycellium is indeed being talked about a lot, some maybe you can try it like blockchain or yobit. I do not use a smartphone because I focus on crypto only on the PC, because I think accessing crypto will be more convenient if on a PC.

Actually there are many crypto wallet these days for storing your crypto coin. I’m using trust wallet, imtoken, and of course myetherwallet. I'm using these for long now so far I did not encounter any problem and also good for newbies. Let us just always lookout and be safe of our private keys not to share anyone.

does myetherwallet have a mobile app version?
I have never looked for it in an app or plyastore because I was used to using the web if I wanted to access it.
the rest I use trustwallet and other applications to access the wallet directly because it is automatically logged in or synchronized with our wallet, when we first connect.

For a newbie, I will suggest a centralized exchange such as coinbase for you. Reason is because if you can't remember your details, you can easily click on forget password to retrieve your password and have access to your coins. However, it is limited to bitcoin, ethereum and one other coin but in case you are someone with a strong retentive memory then you can go for trust wallet. The mobile version is available. It will allow you to send and receive almost all types of coin

When choosing a mobile wallet just make sure that you hold your private keys so no one can access it.

Im using electrum wallet, its for bitcoin since that is what I often use. But make sure to only download the application to their official website to avoid inconvenience.

Trust wallet stands out, I see no reason for installing many wallets on my device after I started using trustwallet. I like the fact that its a multiwallet and the DAPP section is just so amazing, I can access AAVE and uniswap via the DAPP section. Also it's somewhat safer since its backed by Binance.

It seems to me that it is very dangerous to give a third party to keep their property. To date, a lot of new projects provide their services as wallets for storing cryptocurrencies, but there are always risks if you use these resources. Based on this, I can’t overcome my fear and use other wallets, not official wallets of the corresponding platforms. I use official wallets Wave wallet, MyEtherWallet, Tron Link, Stelar, but most of all I use MEW and for more convenient use of my funds, I use the Trust wallet application, which only communicates my smartphone with an ethereum wallet, and is not a resource where my coins are kept.

I recommend you to use coinomi wallet, it is a multi-chain wallet where you can store not only bitcoin but also ethereum, usdt, xrp, and so on. Many users are using it because of this feature and in terms of security, I'm sure you will not have any problem as long as you keep it safe.

If you want to save Crypto ERC20 or other, then Trustwallet is the best choice, but if you want to save Bitcoin then I suggest you better use the Electrum wallet. I see many friends here use Trustwallet because it has interesting and friendly features, and certainly suitable for newbie.

We should use those wallet where you can make sure about control your wallet to use private key. I think there are no lack of faith because it’s a presented by Binance exchange.

The problem with coinomi been vunerable to attacks only affected the desktop wallet Version and I think it's been fixed, I've been using coinomi mobile Wallet for a while and I have no problem with my coins

There is nothing wrong in having both, I have more than two wallets on my smartphone which are
1. Coinomi wallet
2. Trust wallet
3. Token pocket

All these three are useful for different reasons and I can't get rid of either one of them

There are many reliable crypto mobile wallets and the ones I might find to be user friendly another person might not concur to it and that's what makes all of them unique. However, to recommend I would start with Trust wallet because in addition to being user-friendly it has advanced features as well such as easy swapping and exchange of tokens (such as those on Binance chain). Also, with Trust wallet there is no need for having a separate wallet for other major coins like Bitcoin because trust wallet also supports Bitcoin, XLM, Tron and so on.
Another crypto mobile wallet I can recommend is Atomic wallet, it is also user friendly, while others are Enjin and Imtoken wallets; they are all user friendly too but for me, I prefer Trust wallet even the more and even over them.

If it's a multi wallet, then you can go for Trust wallet or coinomi wallet there are many others but these two are the top on my list. But if you need a specific wallet for Bitcoin , then you can use blockchain wallet.

The problem linked above was never vulnerable to attacks, and was fixed immediately after disclosed. The disclosure itself was an extortion attempt against Coinomi from the very start. You can read this tweet (https://twitter.com/kimionis/status/1131945228506738688) from the CEO about it. The tweet also includes a link to this detailed forensic study (https://medium.com/@cipherblade/how-not-to-react-when-your-cryptocurrency-is-stolen-92f7c72616af) that proves it and that no user lost any coins due to the problem.

Hi Akiko, Coinomi supports every ERC20 token. If you want to use one that isn't already on the list of tokens in the app, you can manually add it by following the instructions here (https://coinomi.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/29000009779-how-to-manually-add-an-erc20-token-).
