Title: Investors Behavior in Cryptocurrency - short anonymous survey for dissertation
Post by: Anna.Fe on June 07, 2020, 09:39:51 AM
Hi everyone,

I'm a student and  I'm doing a research for my dissertation on investment behavior in cryptocurrency, this market have some unusual characteristics, so it can be interesting to see if also investors have unusual behavior, compared to stock traders. For example, you react stronger to positive findings compared to negative ones.
This forum had already been used from researchers, it would be amazing if you can be part of this small survey.

It takes 2-3 min, anonymous. Will publish results if interested, suggestions are welcome.

Thank you in advance.

Participated in the survey! I wish you much success with your dissertation!

I am not quite sure if this forum is a good platform for this type of survey. Maybe you should rather ask in crypto/blockchain-related groups on platforms like LinkedIn.

I too took the survey but in my perception, the crypto market is not at all different from stocks trading.
The difference lies in the regulations, companies issuing stocks are audited and need to give quarterly or yearly economic report of investment, expanses and profit. While this is not for crypto projects.
Stock market and investors are too regulated. Stocks are traded 5-8 hours a day and only 4-6 days in a week while crypto are traded 24/7.

I agree, Sure the regulation issue have a big impact. I'm focused more on the type of investors, in academic studies authors says this market is characterized by a part of "young and inexperienced " investors,  maybe for inexperienced people there's a different perception of information. If courious i suggest Bouri et al. articles about it.

Did my part in your survey. Though I don't know how you would category answers in range 1-5 of disagree/agree. Would a simple form of disagree/agree make clearer answers? Anyway, I would love to see the result of this survey since I want to know which one (age, education background,...) more prone to using expects and analyzers when making a decision.

Actually in this forum there is a lot of material for your research, just how we look for it, I see you are still new in this forum, and may not have opened or searched for the information you need

hi, thank you, I will use results (if enough) for a confirmation, after a regression estimation to detect herding behavior and eventually impact of uncertainty using the first cryptocurrencies chosen by capitalization, btw not so easy to obtain results consistent with theory. i've chosen a 1-5 range just to give elasticity and to see a general tendency.

..snip..
Already submit the form of survey.
But, I don't know whether it is true or not, there are only 11 questions. Is that enough to be a survey (questioners)?
And here, you should also pay attention to the number of participants. Hopefully, you can reach at least the minimum criteria of valid data for the participants required.

Well, actually, there are several types of investors in the cryptocurrency. And each type may have different behavior especially in order to take profit, they are short or long term investors.
