Title: Paywithmoon
Post by: OmegaStarScream on June 10, 2020, 11:15:19 AM
Has anyone tried Paywithmoon  (https://paywithmoon.com/)before? The extension in supposed to allow its users to pay in online shops using a Coinbase account (ETH, LTC, BTC and BCH) or LN.

I installed it, but whenever I open its window, only Uber eats shows. I tried to go to Amazon, add things to the cart and proceed to checkout to see if anything changes, but that didn't help. Thoughts?

Moon currently supports shopping on a limited number of sites, but soon you’ll be able to shop on any of your favorite e-commerce websites, like eBay, Ali Express and Target.

They are still on a early phase that's why you see only Uber Eats. They probably need some time to sign cashback offers with other companies. What's intezsrting though, is that they support Lightning Network which is pretty unique nowadays with these kind of cash back services.

Well, It seems to be a good service to use after it is finalized  :D It seems Uber Eat is the only thing they have right now. But I want to know how they work here when they are a Chrome extension. I mean how do they make payments and place orders for you? Payments with Bitcoin take some time to be confirmed, if you order food, it is not a good choice. Imagine you need food and it takes an hour to confirm, then 30 minutes to deliver the food, and you're sure to be hungry  :D

I read that before, but according to this article (https://techcrunch.com/2019/10/21/moons-browser-extension-lets-you-pay-with-bitcoin-on-amazon/) and also some tweets, Amazon should be supported.

I'm not sure of how it works behind the scenes, but for the confirmations, I doubt they would wait for one. I have used Hungry.dk in the past, and they never did. Besides, the extension allow you to pay using LN, so waiting for confirmations shouldn't be problematic..

Another service that lacks basic information on their website so you'd have to dig thru their posts/articles about them, bleugh.

Nothing wrong on your end. Amazon was discontinued-

Hey everyone! Quick update: Amazon transactions have been disabled and will be reenabled in Q1 2020 when we launch a major update to Moon. Along with reenabling Amazon transactions, you'll have access to a much wider variety of merchants. But in the meantime...

... and from the looks of it, they're still working on getting it back

Although I don't know how they work, their statement states that it will be completed in the first quarter, but now it's almost the end of the second quarter. I suspect that their Amz is not available in all countries. Like Purse, they can work with amz, but only certain countries. It could be an obstacle that prevents them from connecting to the Amz.

BWT OmegaStarScream, can you tell me your country? I can try to provide the Amz service to your country if possible  :D

I appreciate your willingness to help, but I'm just trying to compile a list of (useful) services that accept LN. I don't need any Amazon GCs, but if I did, I would've just used one of these gift card providers (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5208530.0) :P

Haha, you misunderstood me  :D I do not promote my Selling GC service  :D I don't mean to sell gift cards to you  :D I am not offering Amazon gift cards and Amazon gift cards are also not safe to use. If someone buys it cheaply to use, they are at a very high risk of losing that money. I mean, I would buy any product on Amazon and set up the shipping address for your address. I call it as check out. I appreciate what you are offering on this forum  :D
