Title: 16 Core MacPro Killer available for purchase via BTC
Post by: occomputer on June 13, 2020, 11:24:54 AM
OpenCore Computers has come up with a range of zero-compromise Hackintoshes that come preinstalled with macOS Catalina and Windows 10 Pro. The first to be released is Velociraptor, which you can configure and buy now.  The Velociprator comes with up to 16 CPU Cores, 64GB RAM and a Vega VII GPU all in a portable package – the 150L case even has a handle for easy transportation.

When compared to Apple’s professional line-up of computers the OCC Velociraptor takes the top spots in single core Geekbench 5 scores and 3 spots in the multi-core top 10.  The OCC Velociraptor configured with the Ryzen 3950X goes toe-to-toe with the $10,000 current gen Mac Pro 16 core version while costing ~1/3 of the price.

Escrow BTC payment available.

Basically a $900 premium (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yWvyNq) for them to install MacOS for you on the base SKU, and more profit for them whenever you upgrade (3700X can be bought for $275 and 3900X for $420, while they charge $300 for the upgrade). Case is a modified/photoshopped Lian Li TU150 (https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8k6qqs/lian-li-tu150-mini-itx-desktop-case-tu150wa) and they're using the OpenCore name (https://www.macrumors.com/2020/06/13/opencore-hackintosh/) without approval from the developers of OpenCore.

Assuming they don't straight up scam you, this is a horrible purchase to make.

Sorry for the layman question, but is it legal to sell computer or notebook which comes with Hackintosh?

No. You could build your own (even though this technically violates the license, but at least Apple won't sue you) though.
