Title: Lost password and all access
Post by: arkaraj on June 13, 2020, 02:06:26 PM
Hello friends,
I had posted it earlier and than went on with life presuming its a lost cause...and trying to forget.. ;D
I had bought some BTC in 2017, created a paper wallet in the bitaddress.org and than lost the BIP38 paraphrase.
Also lost access to the blockchain account info as i had set something strong for security  ::) and than for not being using it for a long time - got it completely erased from my memory (except for the mobile number and the linked email account notifications).
In the present circumstances, i am having dire need of money and thought of giving it a luck if any cryptoworld genius can crack it.
Guys - if anyone of you can do it, PM me we can share the same equally. As far as i recollect -it was 0.7 BTC
Thanks.
Arkaraj

Try to reach out to WalletRecoveryServices (if you have an idea about the password and its complexity), I think  they're the only ones who support cracking BIP38 wallets. They charge a 20% fee if they manage to crack it.

This is problably the best option. A lot of users recommend them, they are not scammers and you can hire their services.

You can reach them here:

Not calling him a scammer or anything, but I would suggest others to be careful when sending him a message. Double check the links he sends you. Be extra careful when trying to download anything sent by him. He is a new user and says that he posted about his losing everything, but I don't see any such post over here.
And if you are  serious, try the service OmegaStar suggested. 20% fee is low I would say. Would be safe to use them. At least they won't run away with your coins once they crack open it.

Its seems you aren't tech guy and you wouldn't recover by yourself (perhaps you need learn lots of thing before recover your fund by yourself). So better option is follow as @OmegaStarScream said since they have enough good reputation here.

Besides that, don't respond to anyone who PM'ed you. Just discuss here openly if anyone want to help you or ask here before you make any deal with anyone, so we might see if the person you are going to deal is trusted. Be careful from scammers. Scammers might get advantage of your innocent.

I read a lot of good reviews and testimonials about WalletRecoveryServices, 20%  fee is already good be sure to come back and share us your experience I'm pretty sure they can crack and you will be recover that 0.7 which is worth a lot now.

Thanks to everyone for the advice/suggestions, shall definitely give a try to the recovery Services.

Technically, i have not made a new post earlier, i had just bumped in someone else’s  post stating my situation. Sorry, i didn't convey that precisely. Although your remarks is taken in a positive spirit for others to not become prey of deceitful scam, i am just trying to convey here that i have not lied despite being a very passive new user of the forum.

I have the earlier PM, but don't see an option to attach the screenshot..

Thanks.

And just a note for the future - buy a hardware wallet and forget about forgetting your password

As for your blockchain wallet account, you should check the link for help if you have the email. https://login.blockchain.com/#/help
If it doesn't help, contact their support, and tell them your story just submit a request.

You could still try this suggestion but if you could just remember your password then it might increase your chance to recover your account.

Most of the time is already lost if you don't have your BIP38 key, I didn't try the WalletRecoveryServices but a lot of people still doubt them but I've seen good reviews too.

You could check this topic for some reviews:

There are other options as well aside from Wallet Recovery Services. Just to make sure that those options have great vouches from members with high reputation and trust levels.

I just hope that your Bitcoin wallet would be recovered by them even if it's a tough thing to do. Once they've successfully recovered it with a 20% fee, don't forget to vouch them.

Next time, never ever forget your password and other "last resort" recoveries or so. Hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor would be great, and so as mobile Bitcoin wallets.

That's not going to help. The passwords are not stored in Blockchain's servers and since he doesn't have the seed either, there isn't much he can do.

The service I suggested above seem to support Blockchain wallets, but I'm not sure how effective it is, especially with 2FA enabled.

Next time remember to write down your password.

And as others say, try out Wallet Recovery Services if you can remember at least some part of your password.

-snip-
For the blockchain account, it's forever lost if you don't have the (12-words) seed phrase or a copy of the wallet .json file to bruteforce the password.
You should be looking for notes/papers/cards with your "seed phrase" if you can't remember the password,
blockchain must have notified you to write it down during the wallet creation process.

Also, please be careful on sending your BIP38 private key to random users, even if it's encrypted, it's still the private key.
Once it was cracked, there's no stopping the user to spend the funds for himself.
So only send it to trusted services and users (check the trust rating in their profile), you can trust walletrecoveryservices suggested by post#2 and #4 though.

Where is this bump post of yours? The only two posts you made are in this thread. I checked the modlog, nothing deleted from you recently. But bpip does mention 1 deleted post somewhere. The deletion could be for hijacking someone else's thread but mods generally don't do that if issues the users are having are legit and on topic with the original OP.
