Title: Technical question!!
Post by: Kisifer on June 14, 2020, 05:51:14 PM
Hello all. I have a question. I have a gaming pc with an rx 580 8gb. mobo gigabyte z77x-D3H and psu B700H 700W.
My question is if I can add another graphics card of different type. For example an Nvidia 1070?
If I can, can I use both at the same time for mining?
If I add another 580, can both mine equally?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes if you mine eth.  Both claymore and Phoenix  will mine on both.
Other algorithms I’m not sure.

You can add any GPU you want, no matter if AMD or Nvidia
In my main PC I have an RX 5700XT and a secondary GTX 1660, I'm mining with both at the same time

You can mine any algo you want, it's simple to have 2 miners running and you only need to specify on the miner bat which card you'll use

If you add a Nvidia card for example, you'll just plug the card and install the Nvidia drivers.
If you add another AMD, your PC will recognize and will be ready to mine too

Excellent!!!

I would like to add another rx 580 (or something similar) but I was not sure if the mobo and the psu were able to cope with it. I have been told that I could add only cards that are identical. Since I can mix them that's great.

Thanks
