Title: [MERIT] NOOB PROBLEMS
Post by: MrMojoRising26 on June 16, 2020, 06:12:18 PM
I like the forum, but being a newbie sucks I cant message people, I cant post items for sale, and I can't participate in most collectible auctions. I have some cool collectibles I want to sell but cant. If anyone has some spare merits throw me one so I can level up and start selling collectibles and buying them too!!

Don't beg for merits. That would make people want to give you merit less.
Also, even if I gave you a merit right now, you would still be newbie, as you need 30 activity and 1 merit to go to Jr. Member.
Just contribute useful tidbits here and there and some people will give you merit.
If they don't, participate in merit giveaways and show them your useful post, and they would likely give you a merit if it is indeed a quality post.

Here is an example - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5252418.msg54537984
Some people do these to support newbies with good posts that have not received merit.
You can submit useful posts here and he will give merit where it's due.
Hope this helps  :)

Your account is registered two days (June 15, 2020, 09:24:09 PM), how you can get Merit. If someone gives you services, your account will still be a newbie. You complain with something you don't need to complain about.  ??? ::)
See my account. I've registered for 2 1/2 years. But still rank Jr Member/ Member, should have been legend.  ;D ;D ;D

Make some merit-worthy posts and who knows, maybe your first merit will be from my end. I was going to merit you but look, I don't favor people through their begging activities as this will set a wrong example in front of the upcoming newbie generation. Prove that you're worth giving a merit and I'll send you one immediately. Make a noteworthy post and then PM me (yes I allow you to PM me but just for one time). So just put in all your efforts to make a good quality post and let's hope for the best.

Yeah, as you can see, many people would be willing to give merits as long as you have a useful post :)
Good luck on getting merits OP

Merit giveaways? where do I find those?

When they say 'giveaway' they usually mean that posters come to the thread and highlight their posts that they feel should be merited but went unnoticed. I've hardly ever seen any where they're given out to any old nut job.

The forum got battered by so many assholes that merit was introduced to keep the scum at the bottom of the barrel. Be not scum by being wonderful and you'll start to work your way up.

If you want it instantly, you can do it here!  Paid memberships (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote)
Explanation here! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.0

It is not there is no solution what you ask. But it is not quite right with this statement. But this complaint is not right for you, because it is still new. Unless you have been here for months, but did not get a Merit. Then I am ready to give him if there is.

If you want to sell something online, read my thread! I think this is a good method. Sell anything on your website! Autopay! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5218227.0)

Og has given you your first merit, I looked through your post history and if you keep going the way you have gone and try to improve yourself as you go, you'll earn more merit to advance to Jr and further.

These begging threads won't work unless your history proves you've earnt it (just if other members think of doing the same).

wow Thank you that is very kind of you I really appreciate that. I aologize if I came across as a complainer or a begger. I just started out here and realized my limitations not knowing the reasoning behind it. After a little research I get it now

Why do you beg for merits? Is this the only way you can do to earn merits? In fact, you don't need to beg, you can earn without begging. For example this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5256055.msg54631811#msg54631811. Begging merits is not only breaking the rules but you show to people that you don't have a strong mentality to try hard efforts. You must know that to succeed in any matter, you must do hard efforts because there is no instant way like begging.

Please remember this: it is not a noob problem but it is your problem only. There are many newbies in this forum, not only you. But they struggle to earn merits and NOT begging like you. Do not create a bad reputation for yourself by doing this poor attitude. C'mon buddy, You can do many things far better than this one.  ;)
