Very strange thing i noticed: most people like to buy with bitcoin , but using altcoins very few

I think all clients i had from bitcointalk prefer to use bitcoin to buy services / products they needed ...

Not a single client that i had until now used altcoins like ethereum ,litecoin etc or tokens like usdt,usdc ....

Why do you think people don't like to use altcoins to buy things on the internet ?

Btc is probably one of the most secure and has had the longest track record for security. It also has a fairly large development pool as well as a lot of people thinking the good parts of other coins will come to bitcoin... Its pretty stable in price too compared with alts and a bit more trusted to remain at the same price over long periods of time (it'll still be worth more than alts for at least a few months which we can be pretty confident about).

I think the trade off in fees is worth it for the security, availability and speed if things are bought for delivery or bought over the ln.

for an asset to be used as a means of exchange, it needs to achieve widespread acceptance. bitcoin is the currency of the internet---no altcoin has come close to its levels of acceptance and liquidity. years of entrenchment have only further reinforced this dynamic.

bitpay's dominance as a payment processor probably played a role as well. they only began supporting ETH and stablecoins in the past several months.

i don't like to hold altcoins myself. i may trade them from time to time but i treat them like hot potatoes. i tend to spend bitcoin because it's what i actually own.

I don't think there is anything strange about it, because BTC is widely accepted and you know that. Even you, it's more likely that the first cryptocurrency you used was BTC, so it shouldn't be a surprise. We didn't know about these altcoins before, BTC was first and it was like the main thing that is called cryptocurrency. If you go out there, even people that don't make use of Bitcoin, if you ask them questions like - do you know what is called cryptocurrency? They will answer you Bitcoin and not Ethereum, not Bitcoin Cash, not even ripple or any other. That's not going to change easily, it's just how it is.

Bitcoin is widely accepted and that's what everybody wants to use. Just like you, all the people I have worked with only want to make payment with Bitcoin. I'm still looking for ways to test out other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and see how they work, but nobody needs them.

After the acceptability of bitcoin is the trust the coin. Trust in the safety of transaction, in the size of community and the system as a whole with soft disposition to bitcoin in particular by governments. The next in this line will be the stable coin and seeing government support in stable coin especially in USD value could scale up in few years from now.

Bitcoin is the main crypto on where majority is trying to accumulate and alts would be just only in next in line thats why you do see that majority do mostly accept bitcoin as a main payment
neither for services or for their goods.It isnt really that surprising though and yet that thing has always been the norm.There might be some people whom do consider on accepting
alts but most of the time they would always aim out for btc.

No mate, there's nothing strange about it :). Here are the reasons I think of:

1. Many use it over the alts simply because it is the most popular crypto. Most new users knew it first before any alts available.
2. In the eyes of investors/buyers & sellers this is the best option they think of. They are comfortable to use the Rank 1 rather than Rank N coin.
3. Not all of people know that Ethereum got a lower fees, Monero offers more security etc. That's why they use btc.

BTC is the most popular. If I say I'd be paying cryptocurrency to someone who'd do something for me, all those boys out there will already be thinking I'm sending BTC to them. If they realize I'm going to send ETH, they'd be frowning or worse scream scam to my face.

Service providers website somehow accepts ETH and XRP but mostly are just accepting BTC, I don't know if there is a wordpress payment plugin that we can use to accept ETH and other coins but its just BTC that I have been seeing.

Bitcoin is the most secure,reliable and trusted digital currency to be use to buy goods and services. And mostly Bitcoin are accepted in some stores as a mode of payments. Also bitcoin is the most popular digital currency that most people know,although in my country ,you are able to use some altcoins like ethereum, xrp and bch for payment.

The strange thing is this post. Why would you even question it? Most of those new at crypto would only try the one at the top, mostly because of the trust it has on the coin. Even those who have already used Crypto for so long still use BTC to buy other stuff. Mostly because most of the e-commerce sites that let you pay in crypto, mainly ask for Bitcoin ( from my experience anyway ). Even if we do say that ETH, Doge and other alts are famous and all, it ain't that much famous to be used in payments. Most of us hold in either USDT/BTC. Why USDT isn't used to pay or any other tokens is there is the existence of digital fiat you know. They have no particular reason to make their lives harder when there's that or BTC payment.

A lot of them are still not familiar with other alt transactions also. And yes, most of these ecommerce sites are only accepting btc, so how would someone use those alts? Also, usage of other alts like doge with lower tx fee is not yet common among those online shops.

I think that is not strange because people will have their choice to use bitcoin for making transactions. Maybe almost all of your clients like to use bitcoin to pay the services you offer to them, but someday, you will have clients who want to use the altcoin to pay your services. I would call that is the beauty of using cryptocurrency. With so many alternative coins in the cryptocurrency to pay, people will select what coin they like to pay, so it is not a problem.

Well, Bitcoin is the number one, the only cryptocurrency that is acceptable by all. Bitcoin is the common ground among all cryptocurrencies. Altcoins may be bashing each other, pulling each other down, competing against each other, and so on but if they are really for the advancement of cryptocurrency they will promote Bitcoin alongside their shitcoin.

Any shitcoin trying to claim as the real Bitcoin or the next Bitcoin is the shittiest of all.

But, well, I myself am using altcoins, too. I gamble mostly with ETH. I offered lending services through altcoins as well. I also use XRP and LTC. But all these altcoins are not really competing against Bitcoin to the point of attempting to take the crown away from it.

We have different approach when it comes to the use of cryptocurrency. Most of us really prioritize bitcoin above all, and those altcoins are just a sideline or an alternative source of profit. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that was invented and other coins are just an influence of it.

It depends on the people if they find more benefits in using altcoins that bitcoin, we have different experiences and preferences.

Right now, bitcoin is the most known and successful bitcoin that is currently regulating in the market. Also I knew a lot of people who are trusting bitcoin than altcoins that's why majority of cryptocurrency users are a bitcoin holders. Altcoins are good, but the profits in using bitcoin is much larger than that.

There is no strange about buying bitcoins and using altcoin less because that is what I usually have done many times in my crypto world. There is no strange with that because bitcoin is one of the longest living currency and safest cryptocurrency compared to altcoins. There is no wrong on spending bitcoins, for purchasing some stuff or goods that we need or want. It's pretty normal because they strongly believe in bitcoin.

Do you know what strange is? Thinking that buying bitcoin and spending altcoin less, we are all different and we have different styles of spending and keeping our cryptocurrencies. We also have different beliefs which are aa really normal thing because we have all different perceptions of life.

Maybe the reason that people are using bitcoin for transaction is that most of the services and businesses are only accepting bitcoin, it does not matter though whether they use altcoin or bitcoin because we all have preference, plus the reputation of bitcoin is established for a long time than that of any alt coin.

It's not actually strange since we all know btc is the father of all cryptocurrency and remain on top simply because of the trust that btc gained this past few years and in the near future. Also the value of btc is quite high. You can buy more with 1btc compared to alts. So it's obvious, many will pick btc to use and most crypto currency user became familiar with btc first before altcoin.

It´s just for safety and the same as why people prefer buying Blue Chips in opposite to Penny stocks? The established company/coins have a higher success rate and are therefore more commonly accepted and easier to handle. There are over 5000 tokens out there right now and 98% of them are trash, assumed in a positive manner.

People in the crypto world don't buy with altcoins because most of the online merchants don't accept altcoins.Another reason is that people stick to what they are familiar with.Most of the people,that joined the cryptocurrency world (like myself) started using Bitcoin in the beginning,so I don't think they are that comfortable using altcoins,even though there's no big difference in fees or convenience between BTC and altcoins..
Using tokens like USDT outside of an cryptocurrency exchange platform seems weird to me.
 
 

With thousands of altcoins available in the market, only few is worth to buy and to invest. Thus making them hard to choose which of them is the right coin to be hold. Bitcoin is the first choice of most of the crypto investors. It has a good reputation and has a good returns with established image. If a newbie were to ask about crypto coins, majority of them will only tell bitcoin. Because when it comes to the popularity, bitcoin is leading compare with altcoins.

For business who also into crypto adoptions expect that they will accept other crypto aside from bitcoin, most of us start using
bitcoin and then realize that alts offer much lesser fees and faster transactions.
Not strange, since eventually those who are using bitcoin by now will also see the benefits of alts, and for sure more and more
companies will cater this system.

some time, slowly but progressive.

It's quite easy to answer your question because of the availability and acceptance is quite low in terms of altcoins. It's definitely less compared to Bitcoin, which is the crypto that is most often applied and being accepted in many countries. It's not entirely mainstream yet, but it's possible to pay Bitcoin for necessities, and that's the advantage of that. Unless you have a custodial wallet that could act as a payment provider towards the seller and that custodial wallet accepts altcoin, and that's it.

Cryptocurrencies are complicated in a way, for non-tech-savvy people, and it serves as a hindrance to accepting cryptocurrencies, don't forget about altcoins as well, the transactions could even be more complicated.

Imo you're the closest one to the truth in this thread.
Logically people should value usability the most, but they apparently value popularity the most, because this way they feel safer - if millions of people use bitcoin over altcoins, why shouldn't they and its totally natural way of thinking

All of us are bitcoin users from the start because it is the first cryptocurrency that existed. After so many years, altcoins are now included in the market but not that popular enough to surpass the value of bitcoin. Maybe if we use cryptocurrency in our investments and it can give a lot of profit, for sure these altcoins can bring profits also.

If you can invest on both bitcoin and altcoin, then that's a good decision. Bitcoin is volatile that sometimes its price is not moving in the market so you need to make another way to have another source of profit, and that's the opportunity for you to use potential altcoins. It will give you side profits although it is not that huge compared to the value of bitcoin but still it is a progress.

Maybe, they prioritize bitcoin so much that they don't see the importance of altcoins in the market.

Because 99% of altcoins users are hoarders that think they will replicate with their coins the gains early bitcoiners had with  BTC
The only time people use altcoins is when BTC fees pike but usually, that happens during growth when nobody is spending their coins and rather cashing out.


Alts have no purposes, they are alternatives!

Compared to other altcoins, bitcoin is really the most used in many transactions and exchange. The volume of people in the market who access with bitcoin is extremely high that's why day by day, bitcoin becomes more popular than other coins. But altcoins like ETH, DEX, and XRP can also give you reasonable profit although it is not that high enough like bitcoin. I also knew a lot of people who are using bitcoin in many transactions or when they pay their bills, because they find it less hassle and more faster than other payment method. Organize your coins especially if you're a multi coin user, always focus on the growth of your bitcoin that altcoin.

Well, bitcoin is more common and bitcoin is the number one coin in rankings and bitcoin has a lot more users and bitcoin is accepted in more places and bitcoin has infrastructure to be used very easily and.... do I need to continue? Because I can but I think we got the idea.

Bitcoin has a lot more reasons to be used, that doesn't mean other ones are bad, it just means that other ones are not as evolved as bitcoin right now. Believe me in five to ten years time all other coins will have their payment situation handled and used in many places as well but it will just require a couple of years until we could build something like that. Obviously it will take time but it will also take money and investments to build those companies who will make it easier as well.

Not a surprise but bitcoin has the most share in cryptocurrencies so that's why your clients prefer to have it. Maybe you haven't seen the client that you'll deal with preferring to pay with altcoins.

65% is the dominance for bitcoin and that's not new if most clients like to take it with bitcoin. You'll get to be surprised if somebody asks you to deal with uncommon altcoins, those altcoins that you haven't mentioned and new to you.

As far as I know, people who transact with you maybe not crypto holders, this includes bitcoin and altcoins and the reason they use and choose bitcoin because this is the main coin in the crypto market so they will easily buy it and then use it to transact with short time and they are not long term holders. But for me personally using bitcoin and altcoin is not a problem because both of them I have done and even, at that time I found there is an adult site from one of the countries in Asia accepting payments using ethereum, so it all depends on each individual himself because when they are more choosing bitcoin, I guess that doesn't mean altcoins aren't interested because it's very possible that there are better reasons to use bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency that has build trust and support from its users and investors so it is not surprising that most of the clients are eager to have bitcoin rather than those few altcoins that have less importance than bitcoin. Altcoins may be useful in their own ways but bitcoin will always take the lead as most of the establishments today prefer to accept bitcoin as a payment rather than altcoins.

From my years of reading posts on this forum, I'd say people's preference for a currency when they're buying something isn't bitcoin or any other crypto--it's fiat.  Judging from what members write, I'd say bitcoin serves a function mainly as an investment and not a form of money, though there are certainly people who enjoy spending bitcoin (that always baffled me, though).

And yeah, using altcoins to actually purchase goods/services is practically unheard of, and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon.  Merchants don't want to bother fooling around with some weird internet money that most people won't even use, so if businesses aren't accepting altcoins and people aren't looking to spend them for things....no surprise you're not going to find diddly-squat when it comes to places that accept ETH, Dash, or any of the other big-name altcoins.

This is partly due to the fact that we're in a state of early adoption and transition. We don't live in an economy where employees get paid in BTC and vendors/suppliers get paid in BTC, etc. It's too early and speculative for that, at least at scale. Things would (maybe will) look a lot different in that kind of environment.

I love spending BTC (at the right price, mind you) because the income I get from trading crypto and my signature campaign is paid in BTC. Thus I am very comfortable with both the "investment asset" and "currency" paradigms and I use BTC accordingly.

That is not the case for most people. Most people have to spend money just to buy BTC. You know, bank wire fees, trading fees, and things like that. Why would they want to spend it? They could spend with their credit card instead and even get a couple % cash back.

These types of people will enjoy spending their BTC once it has significantly appreciated in price. Everybody likes to take profit at some point and enjoy life, or at least they certainly should.

First of all, not all sellers accept altcoins. Many are calculated only with bitcoin. Although this is stupid.
For the second reason, I would attribute the habit of conducting operations and making financial calculations in bitcoin.

I think that there is no strange, it is so normal as I think. People will prefer to Bitcoin than altcoins. this is normal and very true to have. If you are asked by someone, which one do you prefer? BTC or altcoin? For me personally, I will directly answer Bitcoin for sure  ;D

Well, it is because of the value, trust, and also worth for the future.
Everyone knows that Bitcoin has those terms more than altcoins. Only some altcoins that can make it as BTC does, that is some for Ethereum or Litecoin. Actually there are some parties that accept ETH and LTC as payment methods. But, it is not as many as BTC can do. Once more, highest value will prove it.

However, what makes the transaction with BTC is actually quite hard to do is about the fee to spend. It is higher than what altcoins can do. Moreover, sometimes, the transaction may spend a longer time than ETH and other altcoins probably do. This can be negative sides of the BTC. However, aside from that, BTC still offers the best.

Altcoins are not entirely safe , one should understand that even know we might have 1000's of them listed on the internet , what we do know is , only some of them are credible enough to be used for buying/selling/investment. I often tell newbies to be aware of the altcoins , one should always check the spam boards before trying to invest in one , let alone buy stuff with it .
At the same time some altcoins are even better than Bitcoins when it comes to programming and fee , therefore with a good judgement I do think one can find the right one .
Most of the sites does not even let payments being done in Altcoins and therefore it's harder for people to find payment options in Altcoins of their choice. They might now be that popular right now or maybe not that safe as deemed by that particular site.

I think this is perfectly normal. Bitcoin is more used by people in buying and selling because it is popular and familiar to everyone, there are many places, shops have accepted payment in Bitcoin. It can be said to be the largest single currency in the cryptocurrency world. Not many coins can reach as high value as Bitcoin. Many other altcoins are also growing like ETH, XRP, USDT but I think people like to use them in trading.

Not all altcoins are cryptocurrency as some are utility tokens (when they operate on other blockchain) or utility coin (when they operate on their own native blockchain) and a perfect example is ethereum and Binance coin. So when you ask why people don't used alts compare to bitcoin, you should also understand that when you use utility tokens as currency you're using them wrongly. Ether wasn't meant to serve a currreny like bitcoin.

Irrespective of them been cheaper in regards to miners fees and probably more faster via transaction confirmation speed, you don't expect them to be used for something they weren't created for. The trust and popularity is also another factor you should put into consideration as bitcoin is the most trust/popular  cryptocurrency of them all and all enthusiast both buyer and seller would prefer using the most trusted of any technology.

Well i think it just happen that your clients wanted Bitcoin but it doesnt mean that so few  is using altcoins because those are being popular and used by many now.


Try to extend your offers and maybe will find clients that supports more Altcoins than Bitcoins.

Its simple: people like slow and clunky stuff. They love to wait one hour for a single confirmation, even after paying the maximum fee.

Isn't it obvious? BTC was the first cryptocurrency and took the first place as a means of payment and this is not surprising. It should take a long time (not so much as with gold but still) before other tokens will start to be massively used as a means of payment. Just a consequence of first invention, brand and habits that are projected on the general use cases

It is not rare at all if you think about it, despite the huge market caps and trading volumes that you can see in websites like CMC for the top 20 coins the truth is that when it comes to actual usage of the coins to buy products and services the majority of that volume is composed by bitcoin, the first mover advantage of bitcoin is huge and even if many merchants like yourself accept different coins to receive their payments most people use bitcoin to pay for those services, which is why I have always thought of the top altcoins as good investment opportunities but nothing more.

There is really no reason to surprise here. Although the market volume of the first ten Coins is close, each cryptocurrency is directly and indirectly affected by Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the first modern cryptocurrency and it is through this that the process of modern transactions has begun. So do most people like to buy with bitcoin. Being the first cryptocurrency, most people know about Bitcoin and believe in it. So naturally, people buy through bitcoin and the other side is willing to accept it easily.

Mostly because merchants dont accept them. Second reason is that they are used to use Bitcoin and dont want to learn about second cryptocurrency. Third reason is that they baghold huge bag of Bitcoin and want to expand Bitcoin economy by spending Bitcoin. I am sure there are more reasons then just this three.

Even if they are utility you could still give them to someone for whats their worth to get something out of it. For example, let's say I am selling a computer, I could sell it for bitcoin and that would work, but I could sell it for BNB or ETH as well and that would very well work. Just because they have a utility and a reason to be used doesn't mean that they will not be used for sales.

I actually did worked for ethereum for a long time, got paid in ethereum for all the affiliate sales I made and it worked like a charm. They even sent it to my metamask wallet which made things so much simpler than dealing with bitcoin. So, the reason why some coins are used for purchases and some don't is definitely not regarding the utility reasons because that doesn't stop you, it just adds value to it and could be even a bigger reason to use it.

Simply because Bitcoin is better known than any altcoins and stablecoins. Still in my city, businesses do not accept cryptocurrencies, but in Caracas, the capital of my country, Venezuela, in some stores they already accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I use Bitcoin for my local P2P exchanges that is the most frequent use I make of it.

Regarding final payment settlement, a single BTC confirmation (maybe 10 or 30 minutes) provides an incredibly high level of confidence, much higher than conventional methods. Altcoins on the other hand get 51% attacked all the time.

People use what works. That's the bottom line right there. If I can lock in a price right now and settle at one confirmation, there's really no convenience lost as a consumer. Meanwhile as a merchant, the benefits (especially regarding fraud) are invaluable.

Im the other way around, it's really hard for me to use my BTC, but I don't give a flying f... about the alts, the most that I use as payment is LTC.

The reason why people choose bitcoin because bitcoin is widely accepted and it is the secure and trusted digital currency that patronized of many people. But i think you just don't know that there are also a lot of people using altcoins like ethereum because it has a small transaction fees compared to bitcoin.

The reason is very simple. Bitcoin is widely accepted for making payment compare to any other coin. There are few other services that accept ETH too. Maybe in the nearest future maybe other crypto will be more accepted but now Bitcoin is the king of crypto

Because most people know Bitcoin and this is a valuable currency. It is accepted by many large grocery stores in other countries. Payment and exchange is easy and fast, so most people invest in bitcoin than altcoin. I myself always prefer to invest in bitcoin over other cryptocurrencies.

No question and debates about bitcoin's status and it will continue for a long time and it's here to stay. I don't think that there will be an even altcoin that could be par with it which I have seen that some people were already talking about it.

It's also the first born so basically that it has gained the trust easily by people. Now, it's becoming the talks and whichever altcoins goes on mainstream, still people, merchants and business folks will eventually turn and accept bitcoin.

The devil is in the question you posed and the business where you conduct, you are dealing with users in this forum who are predominantly bitcoiners and majority of the users here use altcoins to make a quick profit and convert them to bitcoin, so there is nothing strange in it. When you look at the overall picture there are only a few sites that accept altcoins and majority of the merchants are confident with bitcoin and a couple of other major alts and nothing more.

 i find it wrong because what i see is that more people are now using altcoins than on bitcoin  . may i ask if how much is you client compare to the population outside this forum   .  all your clients did only use bitcoin but other people dont like to use bitcoin but likes to use altcoins instead   .

  what is your buiness about ? if your business only related to bitcoin , why would your clients use other coins  except if your business were also related to alts and tokens too  .

Everyone has a different opinion on business but the demand for bitcoin is higher than that of altcoins in the crypto market Bitcoin is a very old currency The demand for altcoins is low as they are new. All the currencies in the crypto market depend on bitcoin and the price goes up Most traders prefer to invest in bitcoin Bitcoin is not a stable currency and if the price goes up it is possible to gain a lot from other currencies Demand for both currencies is growing but bitcoin is more valuable than altcoins.

People have confidence in Bitcoin but they can't trust altcoins that way. How did the confidence in Bitcoin come about? I am not saying this because other members have discussed it. Altcoins are only used for trading. But yes traders currently hold several altcoins for a long time, including Ethereum.

I think it is because people have their full trust in Bitcoin. It's not that other altcoins aren't trustworthy but Bitcoin has a huge edge. It has been through a lot of tests of time so most investors and users don't take the risk of using altcoins but rather focus on Bitcoin. Some investors also prefer holding their potential altcoins as their choice.

You are stating something different than what I have seen. I agree most people are buying bitcoins and then storing it but they are also buying altcoins but they are using it on availing services for the reason of cheaper transaction fee and also for quicker confirmation so that they can start looking to things other than getting stuck and waiting for their payments to get confirmation.

Different people must be having different perception on bitcoin and altcoin usage; the people you have watched might be using the services where no altcoins is being accepted. Or, for bitcoin payments, they might be getting some bigger discounts compared to altcoin payments. These are the things which makes people to go using bitcoin rather than using fiats or altcoins.

I also believe that it is much cheaper and faster to make payments in altcoins. It is obvious that BTC is calculated by those who do not have altcoins at their disposal. And this is due to the fact that altcoins have lost much more of their price than bitcoin.

Well bitcoin is very popular cryptocurrency and the most recommendable crypto as a payment so not surprise if more people like to use bitcoin than the altcoins but people should try to use altcoins because it has more advantages than bitcoin.

I don't think it is people that don't like buying things with altcoin but rather the type of coin allowed on the shopping site. Most site that allow payment with crypto prefer bitcoin than other crypto. Generally, I prefer using altcoin to make transaction because of low fee compare to bitcoin. Another reason is simply awareness, while any members of this forum could probably name 10 altcoins without a second thought, for the majority of those that hold crypto everything begins and ends with bitcoin, they do not know anything about altcoins and to be honest with bitcoin consisting of almost 64% of the market they do not have to, as such bitcoin gets used to buy real products and services while altcoins serve no other purpose but to be tools of speculation.

Yes, bitcoin is trading around 50% down of its ATH whereas most altcoins are trading down by 90% of their respective ATH. I am also preferring to spend the coins which is not in losses by considering its bought or earned (from campaigns/bounties) prices. So, I guess most people are spending bitcoins by holding altcoins which are still valuing lower than bought prices.

Another issue is that even if a merchant decided to accept a large number of altcoins for the most part he will convert those coins to bitcoin, so altcoins do not really see a lot of usage as a currency, however this is to be expected, why would merchants decide to keep their altcoins when they know very well that altcoins are even more volatile than bitcoin and one day you can find the coin is now completely worthless? They prefer to store bitcoin for the long term not only because they know they can use it to buy something wherever cryptocurrencies are accepted but also because long term bitcoin is a sure way to make money with no effort on your part.

So far the only other altcoin besides BTC that has the potential to be used are ETH, LTC and to some extend XRP, but people still prefer BTC even though it is really volatile because of the trust and it's stability, you need 6 confirmations as compare to hundreds on most altcoins.

then before. Not all of them have wallets on phones, or know much, but they are learning and new people who are interested are

I think there is a distant towards altcoins because people do not really enjoy using altcoins in an off chance that it could drop like crazy and that means if you buy an altcoin and hold it there is a big chance you are going to lose a ton of money. Even ethereum had a range from 1500 dollars to 80 dollars at its bottom, bitcoins worst was from $20k to $3k.

So, even though bitcoin is hugely volatile compared to other stuff, it is still more "stable" compared to other altcoins. I however think that there will be a lot more usage for stable currencies in the future, people do not like this tether company, they like the product a ton but not the company, however one day we are going to have a lot of options to use USDT type of stuff for purchases because it is not volatile.

^ Probably it will depend on people's like, I don't see any reason why they don't use bitcoin as payment. It has a widely use and acceptable anywhere than altcoins. There is no way to answer this 100% . It all depends on what is going on with said coin. Altcoins USD or EUR price is determined from the BTC price of the coin. When investing in altcoins that are purchasable via bitcoin, you want to take a look at the btc price of that coin.. That is going to give you more information vs. checking the USD or EUR price.

I thin the actual reason why people hesitate to buy /sell with altcoins is because of the lack of volume in the market. I mean you see more people have stated to accept ETH, XRP because they have a solid market cap and hence everyone is ready to accept them. It would take time for any new crypto currency to be accepted in market because no one wants to accept a coin that is new and has no significant market cap.

If you have just 5-6 customer a month and after that your conclusion is that most people don't buy with bitcoin, then it's not correct, we need higher numbers of customers to have far more accurate findings.

I personally have sold something in crypto related world before and I was getting paid in crypto, whenever someone was rich or knew what he was doing, they ended up asking for a lot of options, they wanted to pay with so many different things, all together I switched to coinpayments.net so that they could pick whatever they want and I could get paid in bitcoin, but if they are new and novice they didn't really focus on that part, if I told them it was x amount of btc they would pay that, if I told them x amount of eth they would pay that too, payment currency wasn't really a deal to them.

although altcoin is basically made with the mission of repairing the bitcoin flaws, but this is clearly an indication that there is no crypto which until now could outperform bitcoin from any aspect.
bitcoin is very special and more widely known than other famous altcoins.

Bitcoin is different from altcoin and it is trusted coin for a long time ago that is why we can notice that  more people are buying bitcoin than  altcoin,  although there re some altcoin that is worth buying but still more people still believe in bitcoin than buying some good altcoin, the trust rating of the bitcoin and altcoin are always different.

I assume because cryptocurrency pioneers are bitcoin, so people are more familiar with bitcoin than the altcoin. Then according to my own perspective and I experienced it, it's because the providers of these goods or services only accept bitcoin and most of them don't yet have altcoins. So the use of bitcoin to buy something more is seen. In my opinion, it is because fluctuations in the value of altcoin are faster and greater and cause great risks and worries for service providers and goods.

I also see no reason to use bitcoin, as it has too many disadvantages compared to altcoins. If I need to make a transaction, I always use Ethereum, it suits me completely

I cant deny those facts but if you arent interested in Bitcoin then why you're here?  :D We do have our preference though but we cant really deny the fact that when it comes to community support
then its clear as water that Bitcoin is much better overall.It wont be on top spot for 11 years if it doesnt perform that much.Yeah there are flaws but it would only pop out on certain circumstances.
Transaction fees and confirmation wise then we can say that alts do have it but i do still love to make use of my btc in most of transactions.

That is one reason why people are hesitant to accept altcoins because most of the altcoins have a fixed life span and they will have a starting after which they will be pumped for a certain period and then dumped to give benefits for the investors.

Another reason why BTC payments are more preferred is lack of knowledge, because BTC transactions can not be reversed even if they have low transaction fees they might take time but usually confirm but with ETH I remember we can easily reverse a transaction before it s confirmed by sending 0 eth to yourself with same nonce. I don't remember it correctly but someone played a trick on me using it.

So people don't want these hassles and hence accept BTC instead of these new coins. It is like why people use amazon when other shopping portals are there, because people trust them and don't want hassle with new options.

Do you have any source to defend this conclusion? Your opinion might be base on location, age of customer and commodity you trade. Though bitcoin might take the lead but some other altcoin are still as much engaged in transactions. Most hackers will engage more of the other anonymous coins than bitcoin, for someone who wants to preserve the value of the coin or wants a faster transaction he could also choose other coins.

Yeah, the fact that those leading altcoins right now are just came from the original which is bitcoin, we can't say that there's no good reason to use it. Even if you see that using altcoins is more essential and has more features, you will not think that bitcoin is not very useful. Bitcoin is the foundation of all cryptocurrency that exists right now and admit it that changes happening on altcoins is due to bitcoin's changes. Bitcoin is still outperforming altcoins and we are witnesses of its multiple gains on the market.

I think people still trust Bitcoin more than any other Altcoins. We have been using and putting our trust in Bitcoin for a long time, its effectiveness is proven by time so that switching to another currency is not necessary. Moreover, there is resistance in switching between cryptocurrencies that they do not want to start to do so as transaction fees or the connections they are already using.

I guess there is no problem with that but most of the things we buy online prefers to accept bitcoin payment and not altcoins. I did not here for online services or online payment that will accept alts as payment maybe this can be happened for a person to person transactions.

Because most people only know Bitcoin, and also not many merchants accept payments with altcoins. Moreover, many
ICO projects that scams, increasingly make people avoid using altcoins. That is the most reason makes sense, and therefore
needs more education about altcoins. So in the future we can see a lot of people use altcoins to buy products.
