Title: Something wrong with blockchain???
Post by: asianguy845 on June 20, 2020, 05:44:01 PM
So, in my wallet, there is $, but on blockchain, when I search up my address, it says the final balance is 0$?
Also, I made sure the address was the same, so what's going on?

Also, a side note, completely unrelated. If someone has experience using shoppy.gg, how long does it take for the BTC to reach your wallet? A customer bought something from me yesterday, and I still haven't received the BTC.

Thanks in advance :)

Your wallet is made up of main addresses and change addresses, it isn't just one address with the wallet (unless you've imported one address and added those constraints).

The funds from your wallet are probably in a change address instead of your main one.

Ps haven't used that other site so don't know but someone will have, have you tried searching it or looking at their faq?

I can see that the payments are directly sent to the the merchant's address (you) so, are you using you've put the correct address in your payment settings?

Just to be sure that the problem is not coming from your wallet, go to your Shoppy's payment page (https://shoppy.gg/user/settings/payment) copy the address and paste it in a blockexplorer just like you did before, and see if the transaction is showing up or not.

Yep, I did just that. I have confirmed they are the same wallet. The transaction isn't showing at all.

I am not a shoppy.gg user too, but i can guess if the buyer has to create an account and fill his balance, the amount maybe just deducted from his balance and added to yours automatically by the platform. If it's not the case, then you should check your account parameters.
Btw, in some explorers, if the amount received is too little, you may not able to see it. So just search your address in another blockchain explorer.

Edit: Do you see the dollars in your shoppy balance?

Shoppy says the payment was recieved, I don't think shoppy has a wallet though.

Try to lookup for the address on blockchair (https://blockchair.com/), just to confirm that the problem is not coming from Blockchain's explorer. If the transaction is not showing there either, it means that the funds were never sent and you should contact your customer and ask him for the TXID (If not already provided by Shoppy.gg).

The thing is, both blockchain and blockchair says my wallet has 0$. That's not the case. I have some money in it.
The shoppy is a seperate issue.

As stated by jackg in the first reply, you are probably searching a wrong address.
Your blockchain wallet is a HD wallet including multiple addresses.
Every time you make a transaction, the remaining balance will be sent to a new address called change address. If you have made a transaction, your remaining balance should be a in new address. I guess you are searching the address that you had deposited to while your fund is now in a new address.
In your blockchain wallet, go to "wallets and addresses". You will see all your used addresses.

A HD wallet doesn't work like that. To check your entire balance you have to check each used receiving address plus change addresses.
Blockchain.com does it for you and show you your final balance.
The address you see on blockchain.com is most probably a newly generated receiving address.
Do as suggested by hosseinimr93 to get your used addresses.

Did you make any sending or receiving from that wallet? The wallet shows your total balance you have, while the Explorer shows you only one address.
If the money appears in your wallet, do not worry, you can spend it, or if you do not know the address that contains these currencies, you can click on the Receiver button, and send all the money to that address, then it will appear in the explorer and in your account.

When you said about Blockchain, do you mean blockchain.com wallet? Sometimes people buy Bitcoin cash coin by mistake.
