Title: BITTREX want to steal my funds ??
Post by: lacal on June 20, 2020, 07:13:05 PM
I have 20k$+ on it, my account is disabled for absolutely no reason, maybe because I did not connect to it for a few months... I sent them a request : they said that they want to close my account, I have 7 days to withdraw my funds before they close it (4 days left). But I cant withdraw because it's disabled. I'm waiting for an answer from the support, but I'm afraid that they won't respond and close my account.. Did it happen to someone yet?

Its kinda weird to hear something like this. I don't think they are going to disable your account without having proper reason but it will be much better if you can provide some evidences like chat history, account screenshots (If have) or email coversation details with related screenshots. Just by reading your topic its quite hard to get actually what happened with you. Personally i am using their platform for last 5 years and their service is enough professional IMO. Still i haven’t face anything like this and they are one of the best trading platform.

You have already contacted their support and hopefully you will get response from their end soon. Until then keep patience.

Ok thank you very much for your answer, I'm totally worried now.

The only reason that I can see is that the last time I logged in was about 6 mounts ago. Otherwise nothing more than casual trading.

The message (3 days ago) :

"Hello,

After a careful review of your account we have decided we no longer wish to continue our customer relationship with you.

Please withdraw your funds within 7 days and respond back once you have withdrawn your funds so that we may close your account.

If we have not heard back within 7 days your account will be permanently closed.

Best Regards,"

Based on your reply it seems to me that they are going to close your account after 7 days and you have that time to withdraw your fund from there. In a situation like this you can login to your account and just transfer fund anywhere you want.

If i am not wrong then your login credentials are not working. Right? Then you can reset your password by using your account email but if its showing disable notification after giving login details then "Bittrex support" is the only way for you.

As you have already mentioned that they gave you 7 days to move your fund elsewhere but your account withdrawal is disable now. Most probably their support isn't getting your point exactly and you may send them another email with the description of withdrawal issues.

Don't hesitate to keep giving updates here.

Note: For future solution purpose you can update your topic with your trading account backend and support email screenshots.

I just got an answer :

Hello there,
This type of situation will need to be addressed by a specialist.
We do ask that you please do not open additional requests about this issue and wait patiently for a specialist to review your account and reach out to you.
Best Regards,

They just disabled my country Nigeria but said it is under review. I can't log in to withdraw my funds, it is past 1 week and no useful feedback from support and they even went ahead to close the chat. Here is the support number #247695. Why must Bittrex always treat customers poorly? Plus they asked for verification but Nigeria is not under the list.

The support lady I chatted with said my only option was to move to another country and get an ID, Like seriously. I was shocked a person could make such a suggestion.

Bittrex is not a scam operation. If you are innocent of any wrong doing, none of your coins are ‘dirty’ then you will have no problem. They are not going to steal your funds.

I don't why some people call Bittrex as a scam site.

In my years of using the site, I never faced a serious problem with them, when they announce that account has to be fully verified with KYC in order for them to still cater it, I just complied with the requirements with no questions ask, and actually I even linked my bank account in the site so I can just directly send my crypto profi (converted to USD of course) to my bank account.

To OP, and to whoever accuse that the site is scam, please provide all the necessary evidence so you will be treated seriously here.

Obviously the OP needs to post proofs otherwise this is not a scam accusation but a discussion of service.

Without screenshots of support emails and more proof there is nothing to conclude. However Bittrex is a legit operation and it is the OP's misunderstanding that they want to "steal" their funds. Of course not, the OP is probably doing something illegal and blaming the exchange for the matter. We have so many users using Bittrex everyday so how come?

It is also possible that the OP's KYC got into problem but my first assumption would be that tainted sources of money were sent to their account.

Waiting for OP to post support screenshots.

Exactly. It is often seen that if the source of the fund is bad then you have to face the problem. I have been using Bittrex for a long time, but so far I have not had any problems with account related and with my funds. I don't know why people say bittrex is trying to steal their funds. Just don't only blame Bittrex, It should also be seen how honest that customer is. The OP did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that he was innocent.

Bittrex has a history of holding funds of user with huge amount of money before they start implementing the mandatory KYC. You can see the proof on the Bittrex official bitcontalk account here. Check it out here: https://beincrypto.com/germany-is-quietly-becoming-the-worlds-crypto-superpower/

Several DT's become a victim of there twisted services and I'm surprise that many people here are not aware about Bittrex history of locking of account and holding funds.
As OP stated above, This is there old style of locking the account. Disabling the account so that the user can't access then they will give deadline fir withdrawing the funds
which is impossible because it is locked. This shit exchange need a break.

Yes i heard many of their accounts have already been locked. Which is a very bad bittrex system if they lock people's accounts for no reason and refuse to withdraw their funds.

Which I said I have been using bittrex for 4 years so far nothing bad has happened to me. But I think from now on I have to stop using bittrex. I will stop using bittrex for the safety of my fund. After looking at your information, I am very much aware now. Thanks. However, the OP should add some more evidence.

Personally i haven’t faced any issues with my bittrex account yet but i am not well notified about their recent activities. Due to their low volume i have already stopped my trading there. I don’t know why their popularity is getting lower but there was a time when they were one of the popular trading platform among traders.

Thanks. However, the OP should add some more evidence.
I have already suggested him/her to give updates but unfortunately he isn’t giving response here. Maybe his case has been sloved or he is not interested to share with us.
