Post by: Mbitr on June 26, 2020, 07:10:50 AM
I started a thread a few weeks back, asking what your auto fill suggested for - Bitcoin is ..?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5251138.msg54502574#msg54502574
It brought up some interesting results.
So I’ve decided to do the same with

Bitcoin is not ....?

Again when I did this it brought up some results that I certainly wasn’t expecting?
The above options in the poll is what I got !
Give it a go and tell us all what you get  :)

Bitcoin is not the new gold. I would agree with that. Bitcoin is completely different from what we had had before. It is a digital phenomenon, the first who achieved sound money status while being non-tangible thing. In contrast to gold, bitcoin is unique to our universe, it cannot be found on other planets, asteroids or stars, it cannot be synthesized, it simply has the best properties in terms of scarcity. No material can ever achieve that property of bitcoin. Bitcoin has the potential to become store of value, medium of exchange and unit of account simultaneously. Bitcoin is not the new gold, it is a new type of money, programmable money, money of the digital future. It is time to stop comparing bitcoin with obsolete metals, it is time to accept new reality.

when I saw the mark of the beast it made me laugh. I can't believe people are really worried that about bitcoin being the "mark of the beast"? but maybe the reason why I was laughing was because of the reason that I am not a religious person.

If I type it into Google, I have 'bitcoin is not tradable in your region' (even though it is very much tradable lol). Duckduckgo first result is 'bitcoin is not safe', and Yahoo gives me 'bitcoin is not decentralized'. It's weird that all these engines are biased and the first options are all wrong. There are local exchanges in my country, Bitcoin is definitely a very safe technology, and Bitcoin is surely decentralized. I can see that my Google and Duckduckgo results are the same with those of others here.
Lastly, I decided to take a look at Yandex search engine and got 'Bitcoin is not my safe word' which is not negative regarding Bitcoin, but just super-weird.

LOL, doesn't make sense at all as just like you I can freely trade bitcoin here, we even have a local exchanges as well that support its so I don't know if geo-targeting is working on Google end or not.

And I'm not surprised that search engines gives different answer though, as obviously, they have different algorithm. And it's funny to see different results though, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, each and everyone of us here knows that bitcoin is, and what it can bring to us.

Quote
The Mark of the Beast comes from a story in the Bible’s New Testament, in the book of Revelations chapter 13. In that section, particularly 13:17, it says that people on earth will have to get a mark on their bodies in order to purchase living necessities. The mark is forced upon everyone from “the great, the small, the poor and the rich.” Now because society is gravitating toward a cashless society some curious characters believe bitcoin will be the notorious mark.

“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name,” explains Revelations 13:17
The idea became prevalent due to microchip installments inside our bodies or something of the sorts. Since Bitcoin has that mark and the talks of microchips with Bitcoin was spread out, the idea just came there and then. The results of mine were pretty much the same as the others and there shouldn't be much difference with others, after all, we are using the same search engine, or at least, close enough.

Erm, I don't think their biased but rather the cause was the word "not"? It probably denoted a negative idea so the engine just pushed out various terms that can be applied with a positive and a negative side. Especially since the talks of Bitcoin was over a decade already, even questions that have been answered such as Bitcoin being decentralized showed such results.

Google is just too good to suggest AutoFill Your decision is just too good There are not any bubbles here and it tops the list But I feel BTC is far safer it's a really old currency and has gained popularity within the market way back. therein case the demand for autofill with bitcoin will increase more there's no chance of Bitcoin being a secure currency scam.
