Title: [Suggestion] Captcha bypass v2
Post by: Husires on June 27, 2020, 05:32:17 PM
You can bypass the captcha after you have resolved it for at least two times, the first time to create your account and the second to log in for the first time. we can reduces spam and makes you not need to solve any code (Javascript is not required.)

As a guest, you can access a page like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote.

You will see an address, you will pay a small fee (less than $ 1) to "avoid spam."

After your transactions are confirmed, you visit the same page and include TX id.
After verifying that you made the payment, you will get Captcha bypass register/login link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=login;ccode=cec3dfdXXXXXXXX.
Use that link to create an account and log in. :D

You already can bypass the captcha for free.
After logging in, you can visit https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php (https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php).

You will get a custom URL which lets you log in into your account without solving a captcha.

Edit:
After reading your Post a second time, i might have misunderstood you.
Are you proposing that one should be able to pay a small fee (before registering) to be able to completely circumvent solving a captcha (i.e. not needed for registration and login) ?

Yes. I added the part that requires paying fees to make it more difficult for spammers.
you can log in with disable JavaScript.

Isn't the captcha there only to avoid people brute forcing accounts?
The problem with captcha is that you need to enable JavaScript as they collect some of your data.
You can create an account 100% anonymously. I think  ;D

I can't see "captcha bypass" option in my account ?  Is there any thing i am missing here ?
It is a new suggestion that I would like the manager to add, as everyone will be able to log in without resolving Captcha even once.
Register, pay a small amount and then not resolve any Captcha.
you wont pay will need to solve Captcha.

Would it be generated on every IP login, will a single IP get multiple addresses to pay to when they access the forum at different times as guests? I don't know how much data the forum stores, but for this to happen I guess the admins would need to access every unique login and know when the forum is accessed from a new device.

Each IP will have an address and it will be requested that you pay for that address and not update the page or that the payment will be sent with a code assigned to you upon payment. You will enter the payment and the custom code to get the profit.

It is for free since its activation and with the success of the merit system, I won't see scenario in which theymos will do the following serious restrictions. I believe it will be free.

The paid option will be for those who wish to privacy without having to pay even a dollar in order to bypass the code, disable javascript

you can log in without activate Javascript.
Isn't the captcha there only to avoid people brute forcing accounts? Your code only works with your account, so IMO there is no problem in letting people bypass it. If you are going to spam, you still need to log in once with the captcha and can even select the "Always stay logged in" option, so you never actually need to see the captcha again.

This is going to be complicated to implement, the captcha bypass works fine for now and if you click on always logged in you will not need to go through it once logged in.

Edit- It's not a paid option, it is available when logging into your account, or go here to access it; https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php

It's not a paid option, it is available when logging into your account, so to access it, you'll need to log out and click on it to get your unique log-in link.
There is no need to log out.
You can use the link below to get your unique code.

The process would need to work like this:
The person will need to obtain the bypass link at the same time they obtain the payment address. The bypass link will only allow you to register via bypassing the captcha after the payment address has the required number of confirmations.

There are some ethical considerations with your proposal. I would assume most people will pay to bypass the captcha using tor, and anyone registering with a tor exit node will need to pay a 'units of evil' fee to enable posting. If someone were to pay to bypass the captcha to register, it would be unethical to require them to also pay an additional 'units of evil' fee. This means the price would need to be greater than $1 as you propose, and should be closer to the upper bound of the 'units of evil' fee, which is the cost of a copper membership.

You can't see because there are no such fees for bypassing the captcha. Once you are logged in, you can get your bypass code as mentioned by other members. It seems that OP has added the part of paying the fees for bypassing the captcha. I believe he is suggesting to take a fee for bypassing the captcha instead of giving the bypass code for free.

You can now bypass the login CAPTCHA by bookmarking the link generated for you here: https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php

If it causes problems, I might restrict it to Jr Members and above or something, but currently anyone can do it.
