Post by: aandreas on November 23, 2011, 12:02:41 AM
hey pros.

i´m starting a small startup, n  wanted to implent our own blockchain in our app, for internal transcations.

has anyone any experience with running a client on a smartphone? (we wanted to hed for nokia lumia 800 first)

we want a closed system. n let only our approved apps/fones in the system, an want the possibilty, to block clients, if the turn out to not be trustworthy.

any ideas? are the specifis enough? what if the chain gets longer..?

want a job? n  r really good in bitcoin n win fones? send me a pm..

What are you starting, a street gang?  Let me save you some time, your idea isn't going to work from a technical perspective.  At all.  It is like you are asking how to use a screwdriver to turn play-doh into crack cocaine.  Your inability to use basic English is at odds with your offer of employment.

He seems to be German.

mining is done by us, on a central server!?

the app should be ready for le web in paris in 2 weeks... anyone wanna join our team, n be a freakin billionaire soon?

We have an expert in closed source centralized heavily controlled shortterm oriented coins in the community.
He answers to the pseudo of RealSolid/CoinHunter but he can also be reach as Bulanula, Ten98, Viperbjm and Spacy (not sure which are really him, but they will produce a similar output anyway).
RS/CH is the best programmer in the world, and costs only $150/h, it's a steal.
And yes, he wants to be a freakin billionaire soon.

You can also hire BCX to test your app if you have got enough replacement test benches and a good fire insurance in your premise.
He loves testing RS/CH products and I am sure he will be delighted to do the QA.

Cheers.

I don't fault him for speaking German, just, what's with the "n" for and, "ur" for your?  Sure, don't mean to be the spelling cop, but when asking talented people if they would like to work for you, the bar's a little higher.  The German words for "and" and "your" are more similar to the fully spelled English equivalents, not the one-and-two letter shorthand perfect for texting.  And German uses more capitalization than English (all nouns are capitalized in German), so if anything, someone speaking German should be prone to capitalize too much, rather than nothing at all.

There is no point to use a block chain for a centrally controlled currency.

The purposes of the blockchain and the massive proof of work involved in mining is to create a system where no trusted third party is required.  The trusted third party = aggregate hashing power of all miners.

There is massive overhead to this methodology but if you want a system without central control it is necessary.  If you have central control there is absolutely no reason to implement a blockchain w/ all the risk, overhead, and complexity it entails.

If you are the central authority you can simply verify every transaction.  Something is valid if you say so.  There is no need for costly and complicated consensus.

A blockchain is a workaround for a problem you don't have.

ma english is as good as my condition in my head. (last nite i only had 2 hours of sleep..)

concerning the Big n SMALL letters, i prefer the small ones, as i found them smother...

plus. i nbever listened in schoool....

so. the blockchain is needed to sign the transactions, and include the proof (pics, (evtl vid) geodata, time, sourrounding nodes) in the deal.

plus me wantz to have teh control!

concerning the budget, i would be happy, to pay someone a 150 bucks n hour, as our leading
early bird heads get a million € a year...

The blockchain is NOT used to sign transactions.

Then you neither want nor need a blockchain.

The purpose of the blockchain is to have "control" when nobody is in control.  Rather than trusting a single person (like you) the network trusts the chain w/ the most computing power figuring most of the computing power is legit.  If you are in control you know exactly who is legit and who isn't and thus there is no need for a blockchain.

Awesome.

mining is done by us, on a central server!?

Why do you need a block chain then?
Can't you just use a regular accounting system instead of a crypto coin?

The blockchain manages itself ;)

There are already so many coins i0coin, ixcoin, sc, tenebrix etc etc.  Just use any of these.  If you want a closed system, just issue tokens, why do you need a coin for mining internally?

I think I can get the basic alternate currency done in about a week of fulltime work (that's 40 hours), which may or may not be highly similar or even identical to one of the alternate coins.

So if you just pay me $3000 up front, and then $3000 in a week when I send the sourcecode of i0coin your new currency to you, then you can do with it what you want.

Deal?

Aandreas, that's the guy you want to speak too. Message coinhunter on this forum. He has forgotten more about BitCoin then most people who have never heard of it have ever known.

Really curious about the role you plan for this currency in your business.

Really curious about the role you plan for this currency in your business.

+1. I still don't know why he needs a chain for a private currency in his own network.
Can't you just use mutual credit software and put the balance of the issuing part of business negative?

drupal module for currencies
http://mutualcreditmodule.matslats.net/
ripplebase
https://github.com/rfugger/ripple/
ripplesite
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ripple/

You should describe your concrete needs in more detail. At least a general overview on how you're going to use the currency.
But I think it's very unlikely that you really need a chain.

Are you kidding?
A troll without an alternate cryptocurrency wouldn't be a successful troll.
