Post by: cryptomixerscams on July 05, 2020, 02:54:25 PM

Cryptomixer.app - is fake clone of [banned mixer] (http://[banned mixer]/).

I accidentaly send BTC to cryptomixer.app instead of [banned mixer] (http://[banned mixer]/)

Google ads are really bad they have fake sites with real looking names and many people get scammed by it.

I do not know why the google does not check the integrity of the sites.

I feel sorry for your loss (You must double check the website and also install Dr-web or some extension like that to check the site)Do not rely complete on it though

Regards

Sorry for your loss but thanks for share it with community, so that other users would learn from it. I am quite confused how you fall in that trap? Seems you are quite knowledgeable, shouldn't you diligence before sent money? This is financial issue man! always should double check if you are browsing correct apps or software. Here was their official announcement thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1484009.0), if you were search on forum before send money then likely you wouldn't get scam.

By the way, seems Google doesn't monitor scam, you may report on ads if it is exist. Hope they will take appropriate action.

I do not know why the google does not check the integrity of the sites.

Google or any big companies that need to interact with millions of ad registration won't have time to do that. They likely use an algorithm that filters out standard words, low-level scam tactics, etc from the data fed to their machine learning program. A somewhat higher level of phishing will always pass their verification check. Which is why you should never trust their ads.

It's very easy to set up a page and start advertising via Google Ads, but sometimes it takes a long time for Google to stop running a malicious ad or to block the page from showing in the browser. Report to the domain and hosting provider can last even longer, at least from my own experience.

What you can do is report the fake page here : https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en , and in order for the report to be effective, be sure to provide a legitimate page, maybe even link to this thread. As a result of a successful report, most browsers will display a message about a deceptive page, which will be enough for someone else to not make the same mistake.

If even if Google monitors, these cyber criminals used this kind of method of "cloaking" their ads. That's why it was able to pass Google restrictions in the beginning, and then displayed in their web browsers. Then someone around the globe fell for it, and before you realized you have been scam. Again, please do research first before using any crypto related services.
