Title: Is this a bug?
Post by: Pffrt on July 07, 2020, 04:46:31 PM
I just have visited a thread on gambling and was a bit confused by watching the signature of LFC_Bitcoin. It was not working. I knew that he was wearing Bitcasino signature. I visited his profile and saw that everything was fine. Later I refreshed the page of that gambling thread and the signature was visible once again.
The signature was looking like-

Seems like the css doesn't fully load, or something add-ons installed on your browser or anything affects from the users' browser? So far, I never encountered such look/ui/bug in the signature space.

It may be the first one, problem with loading CSS since I have no ads on installed on my browser. I have slow internet connection at the moment which might be the reason. Have never faced before although.

I never face this type of problem. And It's working fine to me, curiously visited the thread also. But no problem for me.

May the problem is what bL4nkcode said is css was not loaded properly.

@LFC_Bitcoin could have been trying to update his signature codes and copied it wrongly initially (as the code inserts are not meant to be added), hence how it was displayed the first time before you reloaded the page.

That's what happened. If it was an CSS issue, you would see the signature in plain text instead of the actual signature BBCode inside the "code" tag.

Why is any new event considered a bug?
bug happens with 1 or more account and not single signature.
lfc_bitcoin has changed his signature to old one, he is in that campaign a long time ago so maybe he decided to try new signature or try to check for one of the ranks.
if lfc_bitcoin is manager maybe he want to start new campaign.

Never seen this kind of bug, or it is really a forum bug? maybe it is just from your end seeing that non-working signature.

If it was not due to the CSS then it is on your browser or the internet maybe? I've encounter some errors upon searching in the forum through the search bar, so far that's the only error I've encounter in the forum.

Sure, it's an error on your browser or your internet. A slow connection may prevent the web page from loading enough CSS to display everything correctly. But, only his signature does not display correctly? As far as I understand CSS in a page, the same components will be using the same CSS, means that all signatures of users on that page will display incorrectly, have you checked other people's signatures on that page?
Anyway, a fun, nothing to worry, sometimes we see strange and interesting things   :D

It is a good thing that you had been posted it here to verify this problem. I had not encountered this before and if this only happen to that signature then there could be a bug. However I suspect that this might because of slow internet connection. Most of the time when internet is slow it will fail to load some of the images.

Try to check your internet speed OP and then if it is really your internet connection then contact your service provider. You are paying for it and that should be corrected unless you were using a hack internet like what others do. LOL..

Chill, this is just a small matter. We should only start worrying if our precious Merits and feedback score starts change numbers ;D

I agree but it only happens when the month of April is coming, you all know what I am talking about that.

It is a bug but this is the only the first time that I saw a bug in signature materials. Maybe, if I was the user who experienced that bug I may scared specially if I joined in signature campaign.

Although it is smaller issue, I think we need to know here of what we should do when we encountered that bug? Do we need to erase the sig materials and refresh before it wear again or we just let it be fixed?

Pffrt already mentioned that he had slow internet connection at that time. This wasn't a bug but just a loading error. Try going to a certain bitcointalk page and instantly stop the process while it was loading (depends if you have a fibr optic connection in which you would have a hard time stopping at the right moment). Try it on threads that requires a lot of images to load such as signature campaign threads. You'll see that it wasn't a forum-wide bug, but rather a slow connection leading to slow load of website elements.

I wish he could confirm this and put the discussion to rest.

@Pffrt maybe you can lock this already based on @TryNinja's comment?
