Title: I am testing different crypto trading bots ✅ Only real results, no bullshit
Post by: Not_A_Rocket_Scientist on July 08, 2020, 01:34:54 PM
Hey Guys,

My experience with cryptocurrency trading bots has started almost one year ago. During this time I have tested several automated solutions and plan to keep doing this in the future.

In this thread, I am going to share some of my results. Hope that this information will help you to get more details about trading bot solutions presented on the market and the amount of profit that they could generate.

I also write a blog (tradingbot.info) (https://tradingbot.info/) with detailed performance reports and bot trading related articles, so you are welcomed to check it.

This is my experience so far:

  • One of the bots that I am happy with and keep it running: Bitsgap (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/bitsgap/)
  • This bot was able to make a solid profit: Cryptohopper (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/cryptohopper/)
  • The bots that I have tested with no luck to get any good results: TradeSanta (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/tradesanta/) and Quadency (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/quadency/)
  • DCA trading bot experiment: 3Commas (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/3commas/)
  • Free of charge bot: Pionex (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/pionex/)
  • Social trading platform: Shrimpy (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/shrimpy/)
  • Trading signal provider: Zignaly (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/zignaly/)
  • Internal exchange free bot: KuCoin (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/kucoin/)
  • Internal exchange free bot: Gate.io (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/gate-io-results/)
  • Automated trading algos: Mudrex (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/mudrex/)

Here I will try to share my results on a daily basis and will also post links to the full reports published in my blog.

If you want me to test out any web-based bot solution, then feel free to leave its name here.

P.S. For Reddit users I have also created a channel where we can discuss all trading bot-related questions. Feel free to join: https://www.reddit.com/r/TradingBotInfo/ (https://www.reddit.com/r/TradingBotInfo/)

Let me share my most successful experience so far. With Bitsgap (https://tradingbot.info/bitsgap-review/) trading bot I was able to generate around 30% of profit in 215 days. The starting balance was 0.4 BTC and the amount I finished with was 0.517 BTC. Feel free to read my final report  (https://tradingbot.info/results/bitsgap/final-bitsgap-bot-report/)for more details.

As I mentioned in before, right now the only bot I am actively testing is Cryptohopper, which I launched two days ago. So my next post here will be about this bot, it’s settings and first results.

I have left the links to the relevant report categories in my first post, so you could check them out. Will also try to keep this thread updated with the latest information.

Make a habit of reading posts made in a thread and don't rush for questions just because you want to make a post. Anyways he actually linked the reports if you carefully read it, I will give the directly link for your ease - https://tradingbot.info/results/bitsgap/final-bitsgap-bot-report

Yeah it would be great to know what kind of results that generates and glad to see some serious testing.

On a personal note, I am not a big fan of bots and I always prefer manual trading but if your reports are to be trusted and as they look, you might be changing my mind and a lot of other traders because bots can be good too.

No matter the results that are  obviously income of thorough testing I don't trust bots and don't think they can be very useful in trading. Maybe as kind of guidlines or just for fun but I would never rely on bots when trading, I prefere manual process so I'm not convinced but maybe some users here will get interested.

OP just shares his stats that can be served as a good basis for those who want to test how bots work.

In a technical aspect, it's good to use bots when we think doing it manually isn't that effective or to somehow test our own algorithm.

I'm more of manual trading too but I'm amazed at these people conducting tests on how to use BOT and show results of what they achieved.

If you have enough expertise, time and willing - then manual trading is a better (and probably more profitable) option for sure. I have tried to day trade and found that this is not for me. To do it right you need to invest a lot of time in reading the charts and by the end of the day this whole action can drive you crazy :) Bots are making a lot of small trades and generate small profits. They would be useful for people who understand that due to the high crypto volatility it is easy to make money on trading, but don't want to waste life on checking the charts and prices 24/7.

My first Cryptohopper bot was launched several days ago (https://tradingbot.info/results/cryptohopper/setting-up-cryptohopper-bot-with-0-1-btc-invested/) with one of the default strategies offered by the service. And guess what? It did not make any deals so far!

As per Cryptohopper support proposal I will now modify the setting manually to make them less strict and allow bot to buy coins more often.

https://i.imgur.com/sYcaLtG.png

RSI Oversold threshold will be changed to 25
Bollinger Bands Deviation upper band will be changed now to 1.8

Let's see if this will push the bot forward.

As mentioned in my first post, Bitsgap (https://tradingbot.info/bitsgap-review/) right now is the only service that I have tested, happy with, and continue using.

Just wanted to share the results of my current bots running there.

POWR/BTC

These are my three favorite pairs that you also could try with any grid bot service. They showed the best results during my 6-month Bitsgap testing (https://tradingbot.info/results/bitsgap/final-bitsgap-bot-report/) and keep showing pretty nice profit.

As I understand it, all your screenshots are screenshots of the platform with bots, but it would be nice to see order statistics on the Binance exchange itself.

I am very suspicious of this kind of thing, any statistics can be faked. Therefore, it would be nice to see the history of orders of the exchange itself, and not a platform with bots.

Looks like a dead end :)

Anyways, there are 1182 pages of orders bot has completed during the past 3 months, so I am not sure that anyone would like to go through all of them :)

It nice you provided the trading statistics of your account on the binance despite the details not intact with the bot screen shot you provide but i have question for you. How long have you been using the trading bot because the last time i checked 90% of all trading bot work faultlessly within a month and later malfunction after some successful trade.

I have started to test out the Bitsgap bot a year ago and was testing if for about 6 months with regular reports (you can find them here: https://tradingbot.info/category/results/bitsgap/)
After that, I have also tried Tradesanta and Quadency (these are all web-based bot trading services.) Now I also try Cryptohopper (which is one of the most popular bot services) and will be posting my results here and in my blog.

Cryptohopper bot still did not buy anything yet even after I have edited the setting with the help of platform support.

Today I have picked another strategy called "Buy the Dip", let's see if this will help us to move forward. (The bot is already running for 1 week with ZERO actions performed so far)

It's alive!!!

The first buy order is completed at Cryptohopper (https://tradingbot.info/cryptohopper-review/)

According to the selling settings, the take profit order will be placed when the coin will gain +4%

I have also added some more coins to watch. Now I have the maximum allowed on the Adventurer plan which is 50

These 4 bots are from different developers or from same company or based on same strategy? Or are you the developer of these bots ?
I mean could you please explain why you have chosen particularly these 4 bots when there are 100+ bots are available to trade with crypto and forex exchanges.

Your results on awesome as per those screenshots but it would be somehow helpful to go deep with your experiments if you suggest any method to verify them. I am aware of "investor mode" in MT4 platforms for the same purposes. Are you aware of anything similar to that to check and verify those bot's performances?

In some sense, you are just doing "self-evaluating" those bots as bots are not familiar. So, any alternate method makes your progress more interesting for those bot enthusiastic like me :).

Just curious, all your trading result with bot is in profit?
I never use bot for my trading activity, as I know bot just to help trade to eexecute all orders, but all still need chart analysis because the bot will execute according to the price we have set.

These 4 bots are created by different companies and I am not a bot developer myself.

Why did I choose these ones? I was looking for web-based and newbie friendly solutions. I have checked several services, and started to test one after other. I am also willing to test some other applications, so feel free to offer the candidates ;)

Regarding the verification: I am not sure that there is any kind of option to do this. I am not a bot praiser and if the experiment is unlucky, then I just write about it as it is. You can check the case with Quadency bot here (https://tradingbot.info/results/quadency/quadency-bot-results/).

Again, if you know any "familiar" web-based bots, then feel free to share them.

But on the long distance I was able to make profit with Bitsgap (https://tradingbot.info/results/bitsgap/final-bitsgap-bot-report/) and right now I am positive with Cryptohopper (https://tradingbot.info/results/cryptohopper/cryptohopper-profits-8-after-first-week/).

The difference between seeing the results here and actually using your own is the fact that you are going to have to individualize all of them. I have used almost all of them (with the exception of quadency) and I can tell you that every single person has different results with them because you put in your personal decisions.

Definitely there are click and go type of situations if you prefer that way but it is really not ideal since you do not know what you are clicking and going, so you check and when you check you may end up not liking some stuff and end up changing some stuff.

So, I would feel like maybe there was some sort of changes I would need to make it more personal and when I do that, suddenly I am different than all of you. Which is why results are something but it is not really that much relevant when we are talking about thousands of different ways to use it.

Of course, a bot is only a tool for trading automation and a set of different strategies, which you need to test and customize.

.1 btc profit in 215 days. Not bad. Though I don't have any idea how those trading bots works as I read some bad feedbacks using those. But I am really interesred to learn how to use that, maybe will try Bitsgap too. If this will make my trading gain even just enough profit, why not try it, right?
Oh wait, upon checking some feedbacks about it. Is it worth to try it?

I never said that I had any good results with TradeSanta. I have tried their free package, but the monthly volume limit for the free plan is too strict, so it is impossible to make any good profit with that (Check this report (https://tradingbot.info/results/tradesanta/tradesanta-bot-first-testing-results/) for more details). I was able to make 0.1 BTC from 0.4 BTC bankroll with Bitsgap, but not on a free plan. They do offer trial for free, but again with volume restrictions. I still run Bitsgap (https://tradingbot.info/bitsgap-review/) with several most successful pairs and right now testing Cryptohopper (https://tradingbot.info/cryptohopper-review/) paid plan.

I have always been negative about the use of trading bots, but lately I have very often received positive reviews regarding Bitsgap. very good functionality allows you to link your accounts from 1 to 30 cryptocurrency exchanges and manage from one center. In theory, everything looks very good, But in fact, I am very worried about the fact that a third party will have access to my funds on all my cryptocurrency exchanges.

For bot trading, I create new exchange accounts and only deposit funds that I want to trade with. I also never allow a withdrawal option when I set up an API for the exchange connection.

Seeing the results of testing several trading bots that you have done I am quite impressed, because not everyone has the ability to set
trading bots strategy like you. In fact I have also tried using trading bots but the results are very disappointing, much different from
the results of your trading. Therefore I prefer to trade manually, although I have to analyze the market often.

Well, when the bitcoin goes up, the altcoins usually lose value in bitcoin even though some of them could go up in dollar value. I would suggest you to check in dollar value and see if your portfolio went up or down in dollar value. It is still not an excuse and you should be making more profit when you are using a bot, after all the only reason why you are using a bot is to make a profit and cryptohopper is not one of the leading ones if you ask me but even with them I would say in dollar terms would be much better when you look at it compared to in bitcoin terms.

Obviously you can argue that "if I am looking at dollars, I could have just hold my bitcoin and profit more" and you would be right, but that is the only way we could defend this portfolio, there is no other way to look at this and find any other silver lining.

You have to also keep in mind that when you are using trading bots the market plays a big role, so if you pick one trading bot at a time when everything is going down and people are not making any profit and review it and see how it did, you will be disappointed because it was the wrong time to test that bot, but when you are testing a bot during a period when everything went up and people made a lot of profits, you are making it look better than it is.

So overall I would say that if you want to test bots, do not test them at different times, always have bots working at the same time on different accounts to see which one is doing better than the others at the same period of time. That would be a lot more fair to bots you test during bear markets versus the bots you test during bull markets.

Unfortunately, I don't have the resources to check all the bots simultaneously with the real money deposits. You are right, the market could both help bots to show the results or ruin the action. I am testing Bitsgap bot for almost a year, and during this period there were different market movements. By the way here is my latest Bitsgap grid trading bot report (https://tradingbot.info/results/bitsgap/how-bitsgap-grid-trading-bot-keeps-bringing-me-profit/).

Another bot solution I am testing right now, which is Cryptohopper is also running for already 1 month and I going to give it some time to understand how does it perform during different market movements.

Trading bot - is a tool. So the initial goal of these testings is to understand if these tools have the settings needed for a profitable automated trading. Are there any errors happening, how does  the customer support work and so on.

When will you check other bots? Crypthopper had a very lucky situation because we are talking about one of the most profitable moments in crypto in recent memory, so it does make sense that it did profit you, but I would love to see all exchanges and bots together so that we could see how they fair compared to each other.

I do not want to really check cryptohopper any longer, we get it you made some profits with it on a very lucrative period. 17.59% is not that bad, I agree that it is a good amount of money to make with a bot but we also do not know how you do strategy as well, someone else using at the same time wouldn't be able to make the same amount of profit as well, you could be great while some other person may fail, so you should share your strategy as well.

No matter how much you've succeeded with your trading bot, I am not fully convinced at all. Ain't trusting a trading bot once and for all, even if it's using AI technology. Using trading bots like this has higher risk than manually trading by ourselves.

I had a Facebook contact once who inquired to me about trading bot, and I just advice him to stay away from that because it's much more riskier as we do not make our own decisions on when to buy or sell.

Everyone had their opinions regarding the positive results they've get from these trading bots, but not me. I would rather do manual trading myself.

I cannot imagine how many resources I will need to launch all exchanges and all bots together. Does not sound like a doable thing for me :) You can always check my strategy and setting in my blog. I work only with the bots that have transparent settings and strategies. This way I can understand what the bot is doing and how does it make its decisions. I would definitely stay away from the services that just promise you profit without any explanations.

P.S. Manual trading is good if you know how to do this :) I am not a trader, rather crypto HODLer, so the bots help me to grow my crypto portfolio.

I am sure you are lucky with that bot because not all of the people who use bot can have the same thing as you. Maybe you can get the right strategy or setting for the bot, so the bot can work well for you and make a profit for you. Besides that, this month, I think we will have more chance to make a profit, with or without using a bot. But if you can still make more profit with the bot, I think that will good for yourself. Good luck OP and have nice success for you.

Lucky or not, the time will show. I am going to run this experiment with Cryptohopper for several months.

Will you be adding more and more bots? It looks like there is cryptohopper as the main leading one for you like some sort of affiliate, but I am not sure if you are trying to make money from it, after all you are not saying anything like "if you want to use crypto hopper too, just give me a pm, or give my name" or stuff like that, I would assume you would be an affiliate if that was the case, but now it doesn't look like that.

If you are really not affiliated with any of them, could you please maybe give a break to crypto hopper and try others? Or simply add others on top of the crypto hopper one? Because comparing them is a lot more important when they are together, it is getting definitely a bit not really that helpful this way, I am sure you mean well but it looks a bit biased this way.

I have a desire to try to work with some kind of trading bot, since my personal experience in trading cryptocurrency is limited, but what stops me is precisely the fact that these bots are not free, and reviews from users are both negative and positive. But positive ones primarily come from the people who advertise them. I would like to receive verified and confirmed information about the effectiveness of specific programs, so as not to waste money.

I will, but it is time-consuming and expensive to maintain several bots at the same time

could you please maybe give a break to crypto hopper and try others?
I will give a break once my paid subscription will be over

Please let me know if you want to sponsor me and add a few more bots on top ;) Each service requires a balance to trade with, subscription, and time for managing.
Yes, it would be nice to test all the services at the same time, but I would have to spend all my time and money on that :)

So you are looking for a "Money" button, right? And you think that it is possible to simply earn money doing nothing?
Trading bot is just a tool, a set of rules for order execution, so you need to try, to adjust and to take a risk at some point.

Well, I am not suppose to give you any money to actually do what you claim you want to do :D. That is not how it should work. However if you test out crypto hopper right now when the market is good, and go out and test another bot when the market is bearish, that means one bot will look great while the other bot is looking bad, but in fact that is not the difference between the bots, it is the difference between the markets.

Hence, I believe if you want to do what you claim you want to do as in test different bots, that means you should do them all at the same time, if you however do it this way with each of them back to back, that means market will decide on the results and your results would be very screwed. This is why I said you should test them all at the same time and not differently, otherwise you will not get the right results between the bots.

The market is definitely a strong factor, but I believe that my tests still can show valuable insights. For example with previous bot I have gone through different market stages and reported how the service works both on market up and downtrends.

...

24.75% if I understand correctly minus $ 38 for a two-month subscription and that's 20%, which in two months seems like a very good result.
I am just wondering how much influence had an uptrend on most alts if the same result (or even weaker at 10%) was repeated during a sideways trend in the market, it would be proof of the excellent operation of this bot ....

This dependent on your trading ability. If you are an experienced trader, robot trading software can be a useful tool to sharpen your skills. Equally, if you're just starting out, a robot can provide a platform to help you improve your trading skills. But do keep in mind that robots don't guarantee profits.

I would not say that I am an experienced trader. The bot is executing the orders according to its strategy and this is not something that can really sharpen your skills.

Yes, we provide social trading tools within messaging apps. Works well for both manual and Algo traders who wish to share their trades publicly.  Utilizing exchange APIs allows us to share trades automatically in telegram groups, and subsequently, users can setup their own TokenBot account in order to auto-trade your trades.

So you are offering me to repost my orders in Telegram using your service? That might be interesting if the bot I am going to use next won't make huge amount of orders. For example, grid trading bot can perform dozens of orders every day, so the amount of posts will be huge and spammy.

This is my experience so far:

  • The bots that I have tested with no luck to get any good results: TradeSanta (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/tradesanta/) and Quadency (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/quadency/)
  • The only bot that I am happy with and keep running: Bitsgap (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/bitsgap/)
  • The bot that I am currently testing: Cryptohopper (https://tradingbot.info/category/results/cryptohopper/)
Thank you for sharing your experience about these bots. I never believed in bots because many of them are fake.\
You may think you increase your profit but you may end up losing your money easily with them!

The only bot that am trusting and using it for a good profit is "Robotrade" for Yobit exchange. I recommend it to anyone because many of us here know Yobit that is safe and we believe it.

I have always stayed clear from trading bots because I have tried doing proper research and searching for reviews on these trending bots and I end up not finding any useful information about them except a few times I have seen who claim to have a tried so many of these bots and say that they are worthless, so it’s good that you created this topic, it’s definitely going to be helping a lot of people that have plans to make use of trading bots to know whether they are making the right choice or not.

Yes, we can post your trades in real time, for free! If you have a bot performing dozens of orders every day, such as grid, it might make sense to mute that group while also having a parallel discussion group based on those trades. That way it will be more organized and less spammy and people can review trades easily as well. Checkout how Joe Saz setup his TokenBot trade alerts here... https://t.me/Joe_Saz_Tokenbot_Trades.

I would once again remind everyone that, if you test different bots at different periods, one bot could be used during the mostly bull season and make a ton of profit while the other bot could be used during mostly bear period and lose money. Do not get me wrong, I understand that you do not have enough money which is why you are not capable of testing them all at once, which is a shame because if you had a lot of money; A) it would be cool for you, having money is great :D B) you would be capable of testing them all at once.

However at this situation it really doesn't matter if you test them all since they are all tested at different times, which means you are testing but giving not 100% correct information, and could lead some people to change their views depending on wrong information. Just because BOT A lost money and BOT B made profit doesn't mean BOT A is better, it just means that period could be more profitable.

You can also have a shorting strategy.  So I would be mostly concerned about proper execution from a Bot as a user.

Or... you can build a script to backtest all you want without spending any money on - for instance - tradingview.

PS I know - again, for instance - GunBot strategies can be backtested that way...

Bot is just a tool, it is not earning or wasting money, it just automates YOUR trades and does what you ask it to do. The main purpose of my tests is to find a solution that works with no errors, has nice support, and easy to use interface. I also show the strategies that these bots are using, whether it is a grid strategy or indicator-based model, so this is up to you to choose which strategy could be implemented in the current market.

Once I pick several bots, that are performing well, I might make a battle between them in real-time ;)

I have to say this project didn't started the way I expected it to start, I assumed it would be boring and like many other tries before, and eventually it reached to a point where it is much much bigger than I expected. I think you are doing a great job, you are adding more stuff, and you are keeping this up longer than I expected.

Moreover, there is a big bull run that is helping you out as well, we can't argue that the past few months being bullish didn't help, but I have seen a lot of people who took the profits and ran with it stopping all the work on the last 2017 bull run, so it is a refreshing thing to see you stay and keep doing it. I don't know if you are scared about a potential bear run coming and you losing all the money you made, but it is still a quite good deal that you are working and not leaving things behind and taking all the profit with you.

Could you test it out Cleo one (https://cleo.one/crypto/)? I use their platform for a while and I quite like it. Since you have some experience, I wonder your opinions about it.

Right now I am testing Coinrule, so a couple of next reports will be related to their service.

In my opinion, one of the biggest fintechs in AI is currently EndoTech. Normally only for institutional investors available.
on 30 March they relaunched the project called D.AI.SY. A combination of crowdfunding for the next Level of AI (als quantum technology) where everyone can participate and use the AI robots from EndoTech for his investment. All based on multiple smart contract.

I have finished testing social trading platform called Shrimpy. It allows you to follow the leader who will take care of your portfolio.
My experiment lasted for the whole month and I was not able to make any profit with Shrimpy. Check out the full report for the details: https://tradingbot.info/results/shrimpy/testing-shrimpy-bot/ (https://tradingbot.info/results/shrimpy/testing-shrimpy-bot/)

I have finished my experiment (https://tradingbot.info/results/bitsgap/trading-futures-with-bitsgap-bot/) with four futures trading bots by Bitsgap. This testing took me around four months to complete, and I have also made +58% in profit.

Guys, sharing my negative experience with Zignaly platform (https://tradingbot.info/results/zignaly/zignaly-profit-sharing-alert/)!
Avoid their profit sharing feature at all costs!
