Title: Equivalent of Bitcointalk for Ethereum
Post by: stoneIsland on July 09, 2020, 01:17:42 PM
Hi was wondering what's the best equivalent of bitcointalk for ETH? Seems lots of Defi related new things happening in ETH. For example yield farming. What's the best forum to keep track of latest update in ETH. Both general knowledge and possibly technical details. Thanks!

There's none. I'm sure there is no Ethereumtalk. :D

But, for sure, Ethereum has been discussed on this forum for a long time. As a matter of fact, you can still join some lively and updated discussion about Ethereum on their ANN thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=428589.0. This was the same old thread started by Vitalik himself.

You can also open a new thread for discussion over a specific aspect or update of Ethereum on this board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0. Just make sure it is not a duplicate topic lest it will be locked.

You can visit the website of ethereum which is ethereum.org
And as you can see they got a page on their website that is for their online community; https://ethereum.org/en/community/

For the technical part, like you are developers, they got StackExchange; https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/
They also have a Reddit community; https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/
And many more, just visit the community page of on their website and you can see a lot if you don't want the said section/thread said by Darker45 above.

Yeah I don't think it exists out there.  There are probably a couple places you could try that should have a decent amount of ethereum chatting...I'd try r/cryptocurrency and r/ethereum on Reddit.  It looks like the r/ethereum page has nearly half a million members.

Ethereum has its own dedicated forum so if you think that it's irrelevant to see such Defi posts on bitcointalk, go there. But as usual, bitcointalk is the most popular forum not just for bitcoin anymore but for the whole cryptocurrencies.
You've got to get information for different platforms, exchanges, blockchain, and almost everything about cryptocurrencies. It is like the mother forum of all.

There's a dedicated thread about Ethereum here you can check it out, Ethereum was launched here but other Cryptocurrency forum has a dedicated thread for Ethereum because Eth is well followed token and there's a lot of followers on every Cryptocurrency forum, in fact even in some other social media sites there are topics dedicated to Ethereum.

I think its better if you follow their social media channel if you are looking for latest news about ETH.

https://mobile.twitter.com/ethereum?lang=en

 Or eth announcement  thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=428589.0.

And forum like bitcointalk  they already give the link to it you just need to visit that link and check.

There are some altcoins forum exists but none of them have more active users like bitcointalk and why you need a separate forum, we have altcoins board as well as ANN for respective coins so that is the best place to discuss about their development.

And also you have reddit which also have active crypto community.

Those are most the active forums where you can find good ethereum discussions.

Sadly there are too many altcoin chilll and scammers, but you can certainly find some good discussions.

However, those forums are not even close to an "equivalent" bitcointalk, as this place is kind of unique. I know no other forum like this one, specially for its history and daily discussions
