Title: Are you Testnet Bitcoin Altruist? I need your help.
Post by: TeRvErO on July 09, 2020, 01:47:58 PM
Dear Bitcoin community.

I’m crypto enthusiast and software developer and I like to see adoption of BTC in other areas. There is a project (I don’t want to shill or advertise it) and they are building a bridge between Ethereum and Bitcoin. Now in order to test its performance they are incentivising people to come and swap test bitcoins for test tBTC (bitcoins on ethereum). I like their work and would like to help them. So I need bunch of test BTC to do it. Yesterday I tried 7 or 8 faucets but:

  • Each propose max 0.01TBTC per hour.
  • Most of them are broken

Could you please help me and send some Testnet Bitcoins? I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. BTC is a freedom!

I'm seeing a lot of people asking for testnet bitcoins and just yesterday even moca make a thread about it.

I don't think anyone would want to give you some tbtc for free while you get the incentive. You could loan some from them or share the prize of whatever test you're trying to do.

test tBTC (bitcoins on ethereum).
So basically Ethereum is still trying to ride on Bitcoin's fame? Vitalik Buterin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=7314) abandoned Bitcointalk 4 years ago, after he used it to promote his centrally controlled (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fork_(blockchain)#Hard_fork) altcoin. All altcoins are created for only one purpose: to make the creator rich, and earn more Bitcoins. Don't fall for that.

Great! Then use Bitcoin, and not some token on some altcoin's chain.

For most uses, you don't need a large amount of Testnet coins to test it. This "exchange" explains why people suddenly want useless testnet coins to trade for other useless coins.
