Title: Binance Card Launches in Europe
Post by: shata on July 14, 2020, 03:18:53 PM
Binance card launched in Europe, enabling binance users to convert and spend BTC, BNB, SXP, BUSD to fiat. Binance card worked like traditional debit card powered by Swipe Plarform. Balance on the card will remain to be in the form of BNB coin until the point of sale which users can convert it into either cryptocurrency or fiat.

Binance is impressive, as far as I can tell, this card that they are launching can be used the same as our bank cards for spending habits. In any shops where the card can be used. They are making it happen for those that are not yet convinced of using cryptocurrencies for spending.
And having that said, it's just the beginning of their expansion. Once they have this card in all of the continents, that's a very successful application of crypto thru the use of cards. I can't wait to have it in our region.

I'm not surprised about this news, if any team is capable in crypto haven it's definitely binance exchange team, this team can achieve any thing that seem impossible to achieve in crypto space, many projects who claimed to be a MasterCard kinda crypto payment have failed but not binance of course

It is good to see binance advancing ahead in this niche and i think if they kept this pace the time is near when binance will be considered as a one stop solution for everything crypto related and that will be massive achievement.
But in line with crypto concept i think binance needs to launch truly global crypto card that will be working in each and every country of the world.

good news. but wait, what is the real function of this card. Can we withdraw money using this card?.  so it means binance will collaborate with several banks to be able to use their ATMs. or binance debit card can only be used for merchant payments only?

Interesting news, nice pages and basically no info.
* what are the fees and limits
* is the conversion rate going to be the spot rate or something different (hidden fees) like most of the others do
* how will be the Forex exchange get handled for the ones not in Eurozone (but still in EEA)?

People can criticise Binance for all their shortcomings but Binance is doing much more ot these space than any exchange. The way the keep enabling direct fiat entry into the space is almost responsible for the recent pump in Altcoins. Just look at CoinBase contribution to the space to see how far Binance has gone

Looks like a decent competitor to Coinbase card, Revolut and MCO's card.

There isn't any information on whether you need to register your personal details with the exchange to use the card (e.g. complete KYC/AML check).

If not, the this could be an absolutely killer tool for us that want to make the switch to pure crypto payments.

I've registered my interest, we'll see what they want in August.

Right, it looks like Binance is going after the Coinbase card which I will say is quite handy and well known in Europe for crypto enthusiast. And we all know how CZ's mind is, he always wanted to expand his business and trying to compete and test the market. Not enough info, but everyone should keep this one in the radar, definitely will be a good option for our EU crypto enthusiast.

Binance really want to make cryptocurrencies to be easily accessible in every way possible and not only that, with this move it tends to challenge most platforms as well as traditional systems which is really good as well. Also, Binance has proved yet again to be the best exchange which keeps looking for more ways to explore every opportunity they can lay their hands on. To be frank, this is the type of innovative solutions most platforms should be looking into so that together, mass adoption of blockchain and therefore cryptocurrencies will be achieved.

Here is the answer specific to your question regarding withdrawal of cash from Binance Card.

So the answer is yes, you can withdraw cash as long as you are in the region that supports cash withdrawals.
You can also check other detailed info from the above link how to activate your card and many others.
Binance seems to make their future clients life's easy by how they will handle this card transactions.
I hope they will not cover only Europe but other regions as well.

No doubt about that, they are really growing tremendously, US, Asia, Africa and EU are their target. But they also need to follow regulations in EU as we all know that they are still in the grey area as far as being a crypto friendly continent.

They have raise the bar so high that it is really hard to compete with them. The rest of the exchanges are really lagging behind. But we will see how EU will react it to.

Binance is really into it, There's no question why did Binance came up to the top and be the one of the best crypto exchange existing today. As an exchange they never fail us to deliver good quality of services, Keeping their self in the trend or creating trend like this. Exchanges should keep up to Binance by learning to adapt, innovate, and creating new features. I hope that Binance would be the standard of exchange.

Sooner or later Binance card would spread all over the world, Ofcrouse big countries would be the first to experience it since it is expected to have their biggest fan base there.  The card seems sleek too and the features compare to other crypto card is quite nice.

A healthy criticism is always good for business, it makes them want to fix those shortcomings and do even more better, the important thing is knowing this shortcomings and willing to make necessary adjustments, binance has been an inspiration imo with the way they have managed to raise the bar of exchange, kudos to them for this achievement and their hard work, their innovation is impressive.

Just checked support article (https://www.binance.com/en/support/articles/ed89f6797ae943ad87841e58591eb229) - not a single word how much will be a monthly fee and how much this card will cost.

What is "KYC level 2 verified" ? Account can be verified or non-verified? What is level 2 ?

Another great product from binance but i hope this crypto card will not have provider issues like other crypto based cards often have also i think Europe already has dozens of such card services so it was better if binance would have started their crypto card from some other region like Asia to offer this service and attract a huge userbase.

How can you not hold BNB in your portfolio?

CZ is aiming to dominate this space and his team are relentless in bringing out new features and products, they never stand still, never an empty promise, they just get it done.

BNB will enter the top 3 on CMC imo.

Here is the tweet I just read about from swipe.
https://twitter.com/SwipeWallet/status/1282995939725189126

So they were not affected by the wirecard thing which many of these debtcards work from for providing their services to their customers?
If not then which company provides their debtcard services?
According to their twitter page they have been around since 2014 so am wondering why binance decided on partnering with them to provide their cryptocards? As I know they have spent along time to announce their cards so must of been doing their research on alot of different companies to settle on.

So, do I get this right? You have binance card, you take it, you go to a shop, they do not accept bitcoin or bnb or any crypto currency, they are not interested in crypto, they are just a coffee shop that sells coffee and they have nothing to do with crypto, BUT you can still use that card and buy a coffee there using your bnb? The shop gets fiat currency like they always do, no crypto for them, but you spent crypto to buy it?

If that is the case that is awesome, that is exactly what we need in adoption, people will be able to spend everything on there and basically live a pure crypto life (except when they have to pay cash) I need to check more details about commissions and rates but if it is not too steep I think it would be perfect for me, I hope it comes to my country one day too.

So, do I get this right?

Binance Card enables the real time conversion of cryptocurrency to fiat currency on the Card Wallet. Only fiat currency will be used on the Card itself and Binance will handle all of these conversions. (https://www.binance.com/en/support/articles/ed89f6797ae943ad87841e58591eb229)

So far it is not mentioned which cryptocurrencies will support this card. But, according to word/button “Transfer”, I could predict that you can fill your card with anything, that is traded on Binance.

What worries me more - there is no information about fee.

That's exactly right! They will do the conversions internally. So you don't have to worry whether you don't have fiat on hand and only BNB or other crypto in your wallet. So even if the merchant is only accepting fiat, there's nothing to worry about. As long as you have their binance card, they will take charge of the conversion to fiat.

Then it will be really convenient if all the cryptos that are listed on binance can be used for this card. The fact that it's real-time doesnt burden us to convert it to fiat first like any other card out there although it's not something new.
Hopefully this will be a great success and expand even further, could be alternative for someone who used to deal with card frequently like me.

Really nice way to utilize Binance token BNB further. Now Binance has another healthy use for BNB to keep the token into a more stable position in their exchange. Guess it was never too late to invest in BNB.

Already we have working Crypto.com and Coinbase cards, now Binance joins the party.

You can compare all of these cards here:

For me, the Crypto.com card is the best one, it offers a lot of cool stuffs - free Netflix, Spotify, cashbacks and much more.

What an outstanding move from Binance. I cant believe that they have been so developed recently. Binance can be rewarded as one of the best start-ups in the pass few years. Hopefully this circumstance will draw more attention from the people so that they understand more and more about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies

I bet they will soon spread this project to Asia. Most of crypto users are located in these eastern countries and they dont mind spending much money to buy things with crypto. However, the number of merchants accepting bitcoin as a payment method in those countries is still pretty low.

used as the main channel before holders decides to convert their assets between any crypto

Personally, I am using CryptoCard from Crypto.com, why I would use a card that only allows you to switch between crypto and FIAT when I can use a card that gives me money back from every transaction, where I can earn money while I am staking my coins? This makes Crypto.com cards so valuable because they are not just like others.

I think this is very helpful. A lot of users having trouble with their cash withdrawals fue to strict and restriction to cryptocurrency related but since Binance were able to tapped this new binance card. Everyone with the same business will follow suit and probably a good adoption on financial branches.

This will be easier for me instead using a third party app for withdrawals that needed in order to get my money. Binance really make it possible.

Afaik binance requires less personal data to give a card than crypto com. So I am as binance user less worried about selling my data/hacks and etc.
Apart from that I think you're right, crypto com card is rather better than binance card

They keep on innovating and this is a good strategy to remain on top position. Binance never fails to surprise us and I’m also hoping that the Binance card will also available in my place.

There’s also a recent Binance update on my place where we can buy bitcoin using our fiat money on Binance exchange and connect it with our banks, this is indeed a big help to us! Keep on innovating Binance, we’re here to support and adopt the good things.

Binance made remarkable development started from its inception. And only this year, the former exchange made significant purchases as it acquired coinmarketcap
AND now binance card. Of course, this will spur mainstream adoption.

Binance will continue to align on the purpose of a decentralized market and having a card doesn't mean that we are going under the centralized market. Binance is simply amazing, it looks like all of the business under the cryptomarket will conquer them. I'm looking for more updates with Binance and hoping as well that this card will also travel in Asia to make it more fun and exciting.

So the supported establishment will be restricted since they only using those coins on their ecosystem. How fiat system will work on conversion for example you wanted to spend your coin for food, services or any other goods that accept or support Binance card.

This is very good news that Binance is lunched the card for the spending of the crypto in various swap point. But, I want to know that whether it has lunched in only Europe or any other country. But, the crucial thing is that how much it has cost to maintain the card and what is the transactions cost over all the spending point.

Convenient - yes, but you dont see the exchange rate when you use your card.

I understand it will work like this: you transfer altcoins from your balance to binance card deposit and they are kept in altcoins. They are not exchanged automatically (because you might want to move them back). You go to shop, use the card, pay in EUR or USD. When you go back to your account, only then you see exchange rate.

And more interesting - how will be selected which alt or btc to use for exchange? Lets say I have ETH, BTC, BNB on cards balance. I buy a bottle of water. Which cryptocurrency will be used for that purchase ???

If this idea were to come true, I believe Binance would be much bigger. And in the next 1-2 years, Binance can even surpass ETH in terms of market capitalization, wait and see what will happen next in the future.

Binance everywhere, hope we are not going into centralization in a decentralized revolution? Time will tell and I am expecting institution to come up and join this revolution and makes things more competitive.
Unfortunately binance has always actively making innovation and that's the fact. Other exchange might be doing the same thing but binance always stealing the spotlight. competition is always welcome because it gives us more advantages but until now very few it seems that come close to binance but in my opinion the crypto is not always focused on binance alone its just that binance maybe have good promotion team lol.

It's a great business strategy of Binance to mold them according to the local priorities and laws. With US citizen being blocked from the exchange, they create a local exchange curated just for US citizens and abiding by the rules of the nation. They are not letting anyone be left behind. They even catalyzed P2P and OTP trading in China and it's been rumored that they are in talk with the Chinese authorities to let Chinese trade crypto once again. But it would surely come with a lot of restrictions like the US version.

Binance only a fraction of the upcoming crypto payment card. They're the leading one, of course, but soon plenty other will follow and implement it. A single centralization service take a lead and many other follow suit till it become decentralized so don't worry.

I'm still in the month of April has seen this information that to obtain the card requires passing the complete verification. But for those who have previously passed KYC, re-verification is not required. This will be similar to issuing a debit card by a regular Bank.

Most of Binance exchange traders could become their potential customer for this card. Smart move by Binance to use their token for the conversion.

Why only "their token" ? In description it is mentioned that card owners can transfer anything from their binance account to card account.

Most important question - will this card be accepted? As far as I understand, it has no VISA, MASTERCARD, AE, MAESTRO on it. Will regular shops accept these kind of card with weird design? Or cashier will deny accepting it, even thought transaction would be successful?

did you read the description of this card already ? thats strange  . if its a card based it should support the brands you list above or else its use will be limited  only  . if that is the case then it wont be market verry well because there are lots of competitors can offer better support for thier crypto credit/debit cards but this is only a new thing to binance  , later on they will also make fixes to this .  this is useful if your already using binance because you can use your binance balance on the go

I think this is a non-issue if you know about VISA and MASTERCARD and domestic ATM card, they can be used as long it follows the card's technical aspect.

I like it, hopefully one day they'll roll this out that will be available to everyone so transaction would be easy.

I haven't read the details yet but I think if you have a balance in your binance account, you'll be able to fund the card, right?

Even though it was just launching in Europe at least Binance showed that there was always something new offered by Binance to its users.
I am sure if this Binance Card satisfying result in Europe will surely spread to other places.

The more comfortable and trusting using binance exchange. recently binance also opened IDR withdrawl services directly to local banks for a low fee.
this is a great innovation. congratulations binance

Where do you come from?
Nowadays everyone can take advantage of all the features on binance exchange.
all easy and the best service, I think all exchanges must emulate how binance dominates the market.

they  are shifting their focus  to Europe  at a time as of losing market in South Asia. where one further country is in the process of blocking Binance, Malaysia ths time... Malaysian regulatory authority  overseeing  security operations has added exchange  to the ""its list of unauthorized companies, saying the platform is operating a recognized market without authorization.” (https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2020/07/malaysian-regulator-adds-binance-to-list-of-unauthorized-firms/) Wouldn't be surprise for me if they move their headquarter to Europe.
Not really, they just want to change a market to suit the goal of this card. Asia markets prefer hard cash or e-wallet than credit cards. But yeah, govt could also a reason too.

Binance is obviously trying to make good impression in public by pulling exchange's first ever crypto card. According to Cointelegraph news, the card is supposed to roll out first in South East Asia, particularly Malaysia, however, the former hadn't been approved by Malaysia's regulatory body.

Let us say, the exchange divert binance card launch to Europe in order to established greater market; factor is still be considered much to say South East Asia has greater regulatory barriers than that of Europe. And so a lot of resistance.

Getting bigger and bigger, more great news for Binance and I would expect that they will be in the top soon, next to bitcoin.

Indeed true, moreover, compared to other exchanges, Binance worked hard to develop innovative approach to its stakeholders. I wonder if they will to pursue public offering like what coinbase and ripple, though its still speculation.

Binance is considered a big business in this market and they are moving into many new areas this year. I think this is an advantage because very few companies can do this. I believe that Binance will be mentioned more and more in the near future and will definitely have a great impact on our daily life so at this point you should consider buying BNB while you can.
