Title: Just a question - can I use double signature?
Post by: Stedsm on July 14, 2020, 11:33:20 PM
Edit: Okay, I've understood that this doesn't sound good, looks messy and people believe that I've become a greedy crab who is being offered a million dollars to display another signature in his comment box hehe. Jokes apart, but it was solely because if I'd like to advertise something else with the current signature, I thought I should ask whether I can do it in the form of a signature but through my comment box. Anyways, thanks for all your replies. Appreciate them. :)

The unofficial forum rules state that ads aren't allowed in the content space:

24. Advertisements (including signatures within the post area) in posts aren't allowed unless the post is in a thread you started and is really substantial and useful.

But why would you want to add another signature to your posts? Is there a motivation for you to do this?

It doesn't violates any forum rules I guess? But it violates the signature campaign rules you're joining. Its annoying though but no one seems have done it in every post they made.

You are not allowed to do that.
Read the following post made by theymos.

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic. It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts. Except for traditional valedictions, which are tolerated but discouraged, signatures are for the signature area only.

What is the idea for this question? Is someone willing to hire you to bring their signature? Or are you just looking to increase your income and you plan to do it this way if it is accepted? If the signature in the post is accepted, I bet all users will bring 10 - 15 signatures if they can. Then all you see in the subject is the signature, not the article content. Now imagine if it applies to bounty hunters  :D Guess how many campaigns they will participate in with an account and the number of signatures they will carry, the number of signatures that you must scroll in an post.

Here's what I see right now:

Even if there are no rules, we shouldn't even consider doing it because it looks messy. Imagine if there are many users who would do the same.

Doing the above would make the "Don't show users' signatures." option in profile meaningless too.

As far as I know, your subscription company pays very well. We all understand that now the extra money will not hurt anyone, on the other hand, you must respect the requirements of the company paying you.

OP, listen to NotATether and OgNasty--what you're proposing is not allowed per forum rules.

Can you imagine if it was allowed to include advertising in your posts?  This forum would be nothing but a bunch of shitposters cramming every post they made with as much advertising as they could.  You wouldn't be able to read anything, because anything valuable would be caught under an avalanche of spammy ads.  Just be grateful that bitcointalk allows advertising in the signature space, personal message line, and avatar.  That ought to be enough.

For you and others who didn't read the edit that I've made to OP before you even posted, please read it first before pointing fingers on my intention to do this. I've clearly stated that money is not my motive but the fact I asked this is because I needed to know if I could do this? The sole reason is that, if I like some service or have something of my own that I'd like to advertise, can I do it that way? This is why I asked it. So, before even talking about my intentions to be money-minded, have some patience and don't just run behind my a$$, just take a look at the OP and not just the subject alone. Anyways, I'm locking this thread as I've understood that it's not a good gesture of doing such an annoying thing. ;)
