Title: [LIST] VPN services to avoid
Post by: Vod on July 18, 2020, 09:24:23 PM
I start this "list" with a single entry, in the hopes others will contribute to help newbies.  Please provide a valid link and any important details.  If there were logs exposed, I will mark them in red to alert others that action may be needed.

The next post will contain the list.

UFO VPN (https://betanews.com/2020/07/15/ufo-vpn-data-leak/) - they have a strict "no logs" policy but all their logs were exposed and indexed on a search engine.  IF YOU USED THIS VPN, CHANGE ANY SIMILAR PASSWORDS.

PureVPN - They claimed "not monitoring users activities nor keeping any logs" but they did assist FBI with a case... (https://proprivacy.com/privacy-news/fbi-solves-case-vpn-lies)

Thank goodness i have never used this VPN. One really have to be careful selecting VPN to use. I'd rather use TOR or DuckDuckGo.
Some VPN services are very shitty anf same thing goes for social media accounts.

zenmate should be treated with caution. they also says zero logs policy but they're based in germany which is part of the eyes alliance. the possibility of them to turn into purevpn is there. not to mention they also have the rights to disclose personal data on their privacy policy.
