Title: Tagging your products on the blockchain for traceability.
Post by: HodlerKing101 on July 19, 2020, 11:26:51 AM
Has anyone tried using blockchain tech to check a tangible product's traceability and how is it effective?

I've honestly haven't tried one yet but I do believe that blockchain can excel in that area, considering that no one can just fake things here. LuxTag does that for tangible products to make sure that it's legit and they are using Symbol blockchain to keep things streamlined and cost-effective. Very interesting that they can maintain their branding/app name and still use all the benefits of Symbol too.

Can this be applied to ALL industries? Ecommerce, Food, Jewelry, etc.?

It can be applied yes. Blockchain revolutionizes the way that we prove certain things are legit, and really solves a lot of existing issues with cybercrime, etc.

If Symbol can maintain this flexibility where people can integrate the APIs from Symbol into their existing system flawlessly, then this is very valuable to everyone.

Even for the Symbol token as well, it will definitely bump up their prices, knowing that they're already being used everywhere.

I think Blockchain is a safe, inexpensive and easy way to tag a company's products. Because the advantages offered by Blockchain are very easy, if I'm not mistaken there are already many products that join and use the blockchain network

Folger 1850 Coffee is using IBM's Blockchain to track it's coffee to the origin and farmer. Vechain has been using Blockchain to verify the authenticity of retail products like shoes in China. Blockchain is extensively being used in non monetorial aspects to as it offer transparency as well as security.

Besides being safe it's a great way to keep your products safe with intelligent traceability. So it's a great idea to diversify and expand business and commerce in general, ensuring an efficient and reliable return. This shows the power of the blockchain.

I guess one of the most important uses of something like that is to prevent counterfeiting of both physical and digital products. In my opinion, it would be better if such tools are built on well decentralized and public Blockchain.
It will really solve lots of important problems if done well

It can be applied to other industries but for specific industries only. As it makes the tracing easier for the products that you'll be putting into the chain.

If you have to make authentic products and you want to trace those for the sake of the customers. That's very handy for blockchain, you just have to make certain primary keys or numbers for you to validate it.
