Title: New to Crypto or Bitcoin? Then, Beware of this kind of scammers
Post by: Cryptoababe on July 21, 2020, 11:13:26 AM
There are some scammers out there who will DM you mostly on telegram and ask you to help them get some amount of Btc out of their account.
They will say they are currently restricted and wont be able to withdraw from their region. At the end, you will need to deposit some amount of btc to be able to meet up minimum withdrawal.
If you deposit any amount, Fund gone. That's it.
Im sharing this as a reminder because I know many users will not see this as new here but some might not know. I had a chat with one of these scammers but Instead of waiting for him/her to talk. I jumped to conclusions. Although, I've explained the scammers next move above.
See the screenshot of our chat.

I've faced this kind of scammers several times but I've not fall in the hand of any of them.
When you join different kind of Telegram groups you meet these kind of people.
Especially when you invest in an up growing project or new project. And you decide to join the telegram group. These kind of scammers are many in those groups. I know many would have been put to notice about these kind of people here. So, I'm posting this post as a reminder.
Do not fall in their hands.
Enjoy your time.

Just don't believe with any stranger asking for help as if they are a good Samaritan.

Nobody will give you free money for doing something like that. It's another scam tactic by those telegram scammers, they always fetch the new comers to trick.

Yes. They won't reply the last message if the find out that they can't scam you.
And The thread you posted now will surely help a lot. That's the kind of website they ask for and that is how it goes with them when one follow up.
I hardly ignores or block because at times, I feel like playing with chat and flattering them when I have time for them. Although, I will later block or ignore so its all thesame.

We can see these kinds of scams are common now. Scammers choose different public forums and target users to the scam. Most of them do not believe this kind of scams, only a few get trapped. We should not believe all these and report them immediately.

Freakin Telegram. I mostly don't even bother responding on Telegram unless I'm expecting a message as the chances of me wasting my time responding is almost guaranteed. Telegram is pretty much like 'the' breeding ground for scammers lmao.

If there is someone messages you using telegram o any platform, do not entertain them or do no belive them because that is obviously a scam. They tend to ask for help saying that they need it for some reasons but the fact is it is all lie. There is no fact on what they are telling becauee they are just making a story thibking that there would be someone who will fall for it and they eill give som eheko of btc on them.

I have encountered such scammer before promising to give me 1.5 BTC,as an appreciation for a good task, I laughed over it and moved on, telegram chat is mind your business, failure to do that is getting into scam. Never chat with strangers that start chat you. That's the secret to win them.

Telegram is a house where users prone to scammers, always be vigilant at all especially newbies, they are most target on this kind of strategy of scamming.
Yes, this isn't tricks because I also experienced this before and I posted here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php topic=5171021.msg52024305#msg52024305).

That's it, report the account. The more number of users who reported that account the more chances that telegram automatically block that scammer's telegram account. Beware also clicking a link on Telegram, sometimes other scammers share malware links.

I have received a lot of PM they will start with sweet talk like pretending they are a newbie and wants guidance on how to proceed, and some of them are boasting about their earnings and they invite you to try, I don't trust strangers in telegram they must first introduce themselves here in Biutcointalk via PM before I entertain them in the telegram, save your time, and save yourself, ignore these people.

Telegram now is the home of scammers, when you join a group they will chat you right away, some pretend to be an admin and some pretend that they need some help. They are like beggars waiting for food. If someone DM you with no reason just block and report it right away. No need to chat with them it is a waste of time, some do send some malicious links and program with .exe be careful don't ever click it. Set your settings on telegram not to auto download any files.

You are right. Telegram is the breeding ground for scammers. And the funniest part is they use almost the same kind of trick to scam.. Some of my friends call this kind of trick Telegram trick because it's mostly being used on telegram.

The truth is telegram is full of scammers. People can easily to change (display) name on Telegram. Potential victims don't know difference between name, username, bio. Some scammers put their fake username on Bio area.

Most of scams are the same but people are not aware of it. They read such scams somewhere else but when they see potential financial income, they forget all they read before.

The trap is set up for everyone but only greedy guys will be trapped. If you are not greedy, you will never be trapped by scammers.

If you are knowledgeable you should know that exchanges, casinos, and platforms have IP tracking machines and they will make some sorta account restrictions if logged-in IPs suddenly changed from nation A to nation B, different geolocation changes, I meant.

Such changes can be ignored but if there is combination of the change and instant withdrawal request, I am sure account will be seriously restricted. Withdrawal request will be put on hold and under investigations.

Telegram sites were excellent at getting information about crypto but now Telegram is that the most scammed telegram sites are getting filled with scams. By showing greed to form more profit by joining different websites, they do not give any information about their mistakes tons of times we are trapped during this quite trap even after knowing everything this could be researched thanks to caution from scammers.

I have even received DM a dozen times by people like this, trying to trick me into making a deposit on the site they send. They are only scammers who want to deceive people who belong to crypto groups. In fact, almost all groups that I have are scammers who always lurk and send DM to new participants.

If the scammer has sent files in the form of .exe extensions or other file types, it is dangerous and immediately do the blocking and mark that they are a scammer.
