Title: top bitcoin Exchanges Volume Race
Post by: bitmover on July 24, 2020, 12:21:03 PM
I did this animation called Exchanges Volume Race using exchanges volume data from data.bitcoinity.org (https://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/) .

It is very hard to find exchanges volume data, and we all know those data are not very reliable and heavily manipulated.

However, I decided to that animation even with all those known problems of data quality and trust.

It is very interesting to see Mt.Gox fast grown and its spectacular crash at the beginning of the animation.

You can see the animation just click on the image.

I am open to suggestions and ideas for new animations per request.

There's a mistake in both links:
- You've accidentally used the incorrect links that leads to one of your previous animations [DT1 Strength/Weakness Race (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5256371.0)].

Thanks for pointing it out. Just made the correction.
You can see the animation now.

I would never discover if you didn't mention

Very impressive OP. I really appreciate it.

I would like to ask what are these exchanges that included in OTHERs, are those unknown exchanges? It soaring high since 2017 until now but it is wondering to see that some reputable exchange has out from the race(where are they now) even Binance that we think it hits the market. It seems to see that Coinbase only has taken the lead over the others.

I thought it was Kucoin but a mistake in my eye it is Okcoin. Not really familiar to this.

Others remains at the Top till the animation ends. It will be Binance and also Kucoin cause the volume  shown in red is much more for a single exchange to generate.

Of  course
Share me the link later.

In the end these others grow a lot. I believe that those exchanges might be included as well.
It is very hard to get a reliable data, but I think this website did a nice job.

I remember people were uploading such videos on Youtube about which is the most popular browser or Operating System. For some reason, data and statistics chart videos get millions of views on Youtube.
Why not upload your animation there,OP?
Where's Binance?AFAIK,Binance is currently the biggest cryptocurrency exchange platform. Is it in the "others" category?
The animation looks great, but the speed makes it a little bit annoying and irritating to my eyes.Is there a way to slow down such animation in Flourish.studio?

It's a very impressive work, mate, I even don't know those exchanges listed there because I'm late in crypto and that was the year 2017 as far as I remember when I started exploring cryptocurrencies and exchanges. I saw Mt.Gox and Btcchina faster grown but they are all disappeared back the year 2015 Mt.Gox and year 2017 for Btcchina, might the reason for Bitcoin banned on china.

That's right, I'm excited to see how far the users percentage in Binance and Kucoin that seems they are the most traders exchange choice ATM.

...but I think this website did a nice job.
Exactly. Thank you for this nice idea.

I don't have the time neither the will to keep an youtube channel updated. It is more important for me to produce quality content in bitcointalk.org with my account than to create a new account in youtube and start from scratch.

I have made a few videos similar to this one which can be found here, but they are not enough to keep an youtube channel.

I think Binance, Kucoin and the like are not even included in the data provided. Because if you check the data dump for the last 6 months (https://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/volume/6m?c=e&t=b), you'll see that only the following were included - Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, Bitfinex, Bit-x, Bitflyer, Bitbay, Gemini & Exmo
So, I think the others mentioned in the animation would be - Bit-x, Bitflyer, Bitbay, Gemini & Exmo
