Title: .:: I have 11 ETH transactions stuck ! ::.
Post by: ashrafohm1 on July 27, 2020, 12:44:06 PM

GUYS AGAIN I'M THE RECEIVER AND I CONTACTED THE SENDING WEBSITE'S SUPPORT AND THEY CAN'T DO "ANYTHING"

SO PLEASE STOP GIVING SUGGESTIONS REGARDING THE SENDER

AGAIN DON'T SUGGEST ANY FIXES FROM THE SENDER'S SIDE

AGAIN TELL ME "ONLY" WHAT CAN I DO NO MORE

Hello guys, I have 11 transactions etherium stuck for over two weeks !

I'm the receiver, not the sender, and the sender is an automatic system for a website and the support can't cancel or boost the transactions of that system

so what can i do to push this or get my money ?? I feel that I won't get them and they will keep stuck forever

estimated confirmation time always change never done at the estimated time, no single confirmation for 11 transactions !

they used Gas Price:
0.000000025 Ether (25 Gwei)

for all transactions

my wallet on etherscan showing all stuck payments:
https://etherscan.io/txsPending?a=0x4bd44b99aa69aae27c2dead9e90b743f31560b26&m=hf

what's hilarious that even my current balance is stuck too and i can't use it because of these stuck transactions !

Please advice

Your transactions was stucked due to low gas prices, right now it's around 97-107 Gwei [1]

It's possible to speed up or cancel your transactions, but keep in mind... this method may not work all the time.

Speed up/replacing = Click speed up and send new transaction of xxx ETH with higher fees.
Cancelling = Send new transaction of 0.00 ETH with the same nonce with higher fees. [2]

thanks for help, i guess speed up option is available only with metamask wallet !

and what will the cancel process do for me ?

will this waste the transaction and hence my money is lost!

Regardless if you cancel your stuck eth transaction or if it fails to be mined by a miner. Your Ethereum will never leave your wallet simply because ETH contract is not designed eat up your ETH when it fails. However, the transaction fees you have set in your failed transaction will lose and eventually gained by the miner.

Your 11 ETH 11 eth transaction will be refunded.

btw, i have 11 pending transactions, not 11 eth pending or stuck

i am just gettig o find out about the cancel and speedup option in executing ethereum transactions. I know low gas fees can cause these kind of delays and keep one discouraged but for ethereum to get into thin air has never been heard of but the gas is obviously gone witht the wind. I will advise you wait for it to return.

Where the balance came from why not use the normal gas fees so you can receive the transaction without a problem,.

Maybe this article can help you https://ethgasstation.info/blog/stuck-transaction-guide/ .

I also found a guide that I think can help you with this article https://kb.myetherwallet.com/en/transactions/checking-or-replacing-a-tx-after-sending/

With the look of things, I don't think the transaction can be successful because of that ridiculous gas price.  ETH transactions is very high now, let alone using this little amount of ether to send such an amount of ETH.  The gas setting would have probably been done by the sender theirself.  If there is no auto reversal for some time, you can contact ethereum support centre.

I was confused with this "I'm the receiver, not the sender" there's nothing you can do about it because you are only bound to receive that transaction. but base on the data in the thread the gas used is only "25 gwie" which is that far below the safe limit of doing the transaction, it will be declared as a failed transaction soon and it will be refunded into the sender's wallet. I experience it many times before using Imtoken wallet and the Eth will not leave in my wallet only, but minus the transaction fees.

I think your transaction will not be successful and it will fail if the sender uses higher gas now so I think it will be faster.
If you are familiar with the sender, try to send the transaction again.

If the sender used metamask for sending those ETH then he/she can easily use the cancel button to cancel the transaction or the speed up button which will help you to speed up the stuck transaction.

Title: Re: .:: I have 11 ETH transactions stuck ! ::.

All you have to do is speed up the transaction. ETH tea sanctions are requiring huge transaction fees this days. Tell him to send the same amount of transaction again with higher fee or if there is a button for cancellation then he should cancel the transaction and initiates another one.

Why is ETH transaction fee ridiculously high? Sorry about the delayed transaction OP, this is the more reason why I check ethgasstation nowadays before any ETH transaction, so that I can use adequate gas/gwei. If you manually reduce your transaction fee, the delay will be something else so its not advisable right now.

If it is already written in the Ethereum blockchain you are secured amd you will receive the money. Now the Ethereum blockchain is overwhelmed and it causes that many transactions stucks. So do not worry, you will get your money sooner or later.

Most likely that the sender made it this way so that the transaction would fail because that is a ridiculous low amount for the current needed gas. Even using a $0.01 Gas fee would still take a lot of time to transfer. What he can do is to wait for a long time or contact the sender to increase the gas price.

This is right. A lot of people are buying, holding, and making transactions with ETH right now. One of the reasons is that the price of ETH is getting high and higher. It's not unusual when you see the gas fee rises along with the price. More people making ETH transactions means a lot of people willingly pay more to finish their transactions as fast as possible, therefore, transactions with lower gas fee need to be on waitlist.

You can't do anything to push the transaction because you're the receiver. You should contact the sender and ask him to speed up the transaction by adding more transaction fees.

Thats right he can received it but the question is when. With all the hike on eth price even its network will experience a congestion.

Like the suggestion aboved. He need to add more gas fee or gwei on the advance section however the sender should be the one to iniatiate this process. Im not sure if even receiver can fix this since the transaction executed by the sender.

I hope the sender is a friend of yours because it's certain that the transaction will get rejected soon, 25 gwei as gas fee for 11 ethereum is too low, that can't even send 2 eth successful

Just wait, it's stuck because of the low fee, it happens to me all the time when I wish to save on fees. It can last for days, but it will arrive, and I am sure its annoying, it's annoying for me for much lower amounts, and for your 11 ETH I believe it's like playing with nerves, checking all the time when will it arrive. Just patience and everything will be fine.

The option for now is to contact the sender and tell him to replace the fee 11 eth is huge money he can atleast deduct small amount $2-3 for faster transaction dont stress yourself mate just told him to cancel or replace transaction fee.

Do you buy the ethereum from the sender? What do you give in return? I think this sender is a scammer, he intentionally use this low transaction fee Knowing that it will get rejected and come back into his wallet, that gas fee is too damn low

Next time when buying coins from people or friend make sure the transaction get approved in the blockchain and your wallet shows approved before sending the person money or coin

In fact, if the amount of gas used for payment is too low, the amount of ETH is stuck on the ethereum network will be sent back to the sender but no one knows how long? It will depend on the mining speed of the network.

Recently, due to the sharp increase in ETH prices, transactions on the Ethereum network are quite slow and very expensive. I am asking myself the question of the scalability of this blockchain, as they are about to update to higher versions.

Title: Re: .:: I have 11 ETH transactions stuck ! ::.
Post by: Genemind on July 28, 2020, 09:02:59 AM
I always use the recommended gwei or even go above it to make sure my transactions will go through. Ethereum network can be clogged anytime and gas price may vary, so it is normal for smaller gas price to fail or even be delayed due to network traffic. If the transaction will not go through the ethereum will remain on the wallet untouched, so no need to worry.

If you are the receiver and not the sender, then I do not think you can do anything. You should ask the sender to expedite the transaction through an acceleration site. You can view the method here:
https://fastandclean.org/ethereum-transaction-accelerators-that-really-work/ (https://fastandclean.org/ethereum-transaction-accelerators-that-really-work/)
There are free ways to speed up but they may not work and you should use paid acceleration sites, in which case I don’t know if the sender accepts to pay additional fees.

Try increasing the Gas of transactions, I think it will perform quickly. I have been in situations like this where everything goes up just fine with Gas.  Btw the current gas charge of ETH is too expensive compared to previous days

Maybe the solution is asking the sender to increase the gas once the transaction failed.

I have not been using ETH for a while but based on my experience, if the gas is very low, the transaction will fail. If you have agreement or transaction with the sender and he sends ETH as payment, please make sure the transaction will have at least 1 or 3 confirmation before you complete the transaction with him.

You don't need to adjust gas prices manually, if you are using Myetherwallet or MEW apps. Automatically this Myetherwallet will suggest the best gas prices. Same when you are using decentralized exchange like idex exchange. Only these problems I found on forkdelta exchange for ERC-20 tokens transaction. Your problem was created by your sender. I think you should try again to send 11 Ethereum.

they say its the senders fault . the sender is the one that we must educate pertaining on this things but what if he already knew how this work and he is only greedy but it could also be the op fault because he didnt negotiate if what will be the fee to use  . on the wallet that i use , you cant modify the fees  . i wish other wallets have that too so that no more problems like this are going to happen  because many problems like this are always happening  , some only caused by accidents  .

If that he thinks that way, but if he wanted to save some fees and set it below from the suggested amount, this is probably the consequences. However, there is nothing to worry about because it will return to your wallet if it is not mined by miners.

This could be a lesson for the others, not only delays will matter to fees but also it depends on the network traffic which is we experience today. And definitely you can't expect such fast transactions if you are using lower fees this time.

I think you should try again to send 11 Ethereum.
Right after the transactions will expired and sees is back to the wallet since it was still pending.

Note to everyone replying or thinking of replying :

OP is talking about 11 separate ETH transactions, not 11 ETH
OP is the receiver, not the sender

To OP : ETH network is already 95% utilized thanks to DeFi (Tether transactions), which leads to increasingly higher ETH gas fees and longer transaction confirmation times.
As the receiver of those transactions you are experiencing directly the downside to that.

I suspect as a few people mentioned before, the solution lays at the sender of those 11 transactions. But problems like these will most likely keep occurring for users because Ethereum network
is congested and can not scale, and its scaling solutions are still years away (ETH 2.0 phase 1 & 2).  Eth 2.0 phase 0 has a soft target of end 2020, but will not bring scalability to the network. It is just
a preparation for PoS by setting up a sidechain (Beacon Chain) and its validators.

Link : https://consensys.net/knowledge-base/ethereum-2/faq/

Not much has really changed for Ethereum between 2018 when ETH network got congested by a certain Dapp called cryptokitties, which caused massive transactions traffic and today with all these
massive DeFi transactions taking place on ETH network, causing network congestion. Same transaction scalability problem.

I  am having a trouble to fixed this issue before when I enter cryptocurrency, everything is new to me, Now I will tell you the solution straight to the point if it hasn't fix yet. Just tell your friend to use metamask or trustWallet and then resend the transaction with higher gas, you can find recommended gas price here, https://ethgasstation.info/ and look for that delayed transaction on etherscan look for nonce and copy that number on your new transaction you can see it on advance option on trust wallet, thats it he just need to send it and done.

It do happen when your fees are low I think. I have experienced it the same way as you (a receiver), not with Ethereum, but with they are still similar in some ways :( . Someone sent me some BTC on a Saturday afternoon and it was taking long, then I reached out to him and told him that I have not gotten the BTC, he then replied the transaction might reach me on Monday or even after then.

Later he asked if I was in dire need of the money, that if I am, then he can speed it up so that I will get it faster that day and then later that same day in the evening the money arrived. So, you have to tell you sender to speed it up by increasing the fees, although I don’t think it’s every wallet that can do that.

I guess you can send from any wallet the new transaction with a high fee and this action will cancel the old transaction no matter from which wallet it was sent. Myself tested  it a few times and it turned out to be a good answer to the problem. Use gasstation (https://ethgasstation.info/) to find the safe price for gas.

I have already sent to myself 2 times 0 eth with high gas and both were done but didn't cancel any previous transactions from those stuck

can u explain in more details please ?

I think the value of the gas you are applying is quite small because if the sender applies a large gas value when making a transaction I think it will run quite smoothly.  Because in the last few days I have also sent large amounts of ETH but it has not jammed because I applied a larger gas.

Well, just as you said, this may not work because i have been trying all day to send some transactions on the Ethereum chain, believe me i had increased my gwei to about 120 which estimated network fee to be over $3 yet that damn transaction could not pull through.

I think the value of the gas you are applying is quite small because if the sender applies a large gas value when making a transaction I think it will run quite smoothly.  Because in the last few days I have also sent large amounts of ETH but it has not jammed because I applied a larger gas.
yes, the problem is because the gas costs are low, try before if the sender increases the gas costs then the transaction process will not be slow. For the OP, I think you need to contact the Sender again to increase the cost of gas so that you can immediately receive your money back.

The gas transaction is very low that's why the receiver still did not receive the eth. I just experience cashing out the eth and it stuck for more than 7-8 hours because of a very low gas fee. Better inform the sender to add the gas fee, the price fee now is increasing just look in other exchange also.

Just like when using up Electrum where you can rebroadcast such transaction with much higher fee for it to push through. These kind of events in talks of stucked transactions do mostly
have issues when it comes to fees and on the time you had sent out such coins with specific amount of gas or fee to be on fast confirmation then you would need to pay it up and
going low on that in understandably that it will really took much longer or worst it wont never be broadcasted into the network.

Same transaction scalability problem.

thanks for understanding me

but I'm wondering at all, what will be the result? will i get the money, or they will keep stuck, or they will be refunded to buyer

on the other hand side, do i have the option to cancel or push the transaction ?

thank you

Since you are the receiver you can't do anything you would have to ask the sender to help you speed up the transaction.
The gas fee he used was really low therefore there's a huge change the transaction will be dropped in the next few days.

Hi, can you show your pending transaction link to the explorer like etherscan ?
As the receiver, you can't do anything to it but you can tell the sender. Just tell them to replace the transaction with the new one and using higher gas.
Sometimes the transaction need to using gwei above 40 so it can be picked up by the miners.

i am just gettig o find out about the cancel and speedup option in executing ethereum transactions. I know low gas fees can cause these kind of delays and keep one discouraged but for ethereum to get into thin air has never been heard of but the gas is obviously gone witht the wind. I will advise you wait for it to return.
Yeah there were people referring to speedup or cancelling transactions in this thread already.
None was told about simply try to wait a bit more, this low gas fee may slow transactions heavily, we can't really estimate

You need waiting for more than five days if using 25 gwei when transaction sending ethereum for one wallet to other wallet, I think bad ideas when sending ethereum coin platform without check ethgass.info to know how many gas and gwei setting before sending, always update your information when sending coin ethreum platform.

Chances of cancellation is less, so all you can do is wait.Is that website is a trusted one? How they send the transaction with such low fee when the recommended fee is so high at the moment?

And all of them use only 0.000000025 gwei?
Where the balance came from why not use the normal gas fees so you can receive the transaction without a problem,.

Obviously, this Commission was set in MEW by default. I faced the same problem 3 days ago when I sent ETH from my wallet to the exchange. My transaction was processed for 2 days, and I already thought that the transfer would be canceled and the funds would be returned, but then I saw that these funds were credited to the exchange's balance.

its posibble reversed the stuck transaction by make new transaction with same nounce and zero eth value with high gas fees, the stuck eth transaction will be replaced to new transaction and your eth will be returned to you and available for send, i would recommended you to do it with MyEther wallet on ETH wallet or imToken & Trust wallet that having fuction to edits the nounce, you need to always check current GAS price on https://ethgasstation.info/ to avoid stuck transaction like this.

edit :

since he is not sender, i dont think that he will able to reversed and cancel the transaction, unless you ask the sender to do my reply above.

just try canceling the transaction, still can. then raise the gas price, also check the connection. I think if it's a pending problem, it can still be overcome. except if the transaction from the sender has been sent and the balance is 0, but the recipient has not yet received. it will be a problem.

You receive ETH from various address. It will not be easy.

If you see tx for pending transaction, you will see a message
There is a Pending txn with a lower account nonce. This txn can only be executed after confirmation of the earlier Txn Hash
You must click it, then you will redirected to another tx

For example, your pending tx :
https://etherscan.io/tx/0x8ee21e40f5ba7caa4672db8efee1e9433e40ae66d75d80478edb7cc100d5ac52 after you click it you will go to https://etherscan.io/tx/0xcc253dc9b8c8153c38058fe1cd9062ecd1dbc04136022538dd54654d98a20f47

You received Ethereum from this address 0xb6bb889a00d5ea97b0a0d13f2e778719ac258fd5. So contact that address to cancel it

Cancel = Send 0 ETH to their own wallet [0xb6bb889a00d5ea97b0a0d13f2e778719ac258fd5]
https://kb.myetherwallet.com/en/transactions/checking-or-replacing-a-tx-after-sending/

After do that, 1 pending transaction should be fixed. Do the same for all remaining pending tx.

After all pending tx fixed, tell them to send back your ethereum.

Note:
No guarantee this will succeed.
No guarante they will send it back your ethereum or do what you say.
This is only a suggestion based on my experience, I will not be held responsible, so think clearly. Do that at your own risk.

I am sorry, but if the sender is a website and its support department indicates they can't help you (the receiver) with the transactions they are themselves responsible for,
then the only thing left for you is to try to see if they have a social channel, where you can share your bad experience with their own customers.
Maybe that will create enough pressure for them to look into it again.

If you have already paid, and just want the whole deal cancelled then try to look for their refund policy. Webshops are bound by law to provide refunds to a customer if that customer
did not receive the product / service. Threaten with a lawyer if necessary.
Out of curiosity, what website were you using and how did you pay ? If you paid with a creditcard or Paypal, then there are refund options there too.

You have 11 ETH stuck in the Ethereum blockchain means still that transaction is not verified and even in the waiting position. As, you have used low GAS for the covering of the transaction so it happen. Again, I want to let you know that if the transaction won't be verified then it will be cancelled in the blockchain for the transfer and that will again back to the sender but the time frame is not definite. May it takes even a month. But one more thing you should approach the Sender to cancel the transaction on his account because it is in waiting situation.

For OP, who are your sender ? Is it an exchange ? Have you tried to contact the support ?
I think they must manually process the transaction, so it won't be pending forever.

Another way around aside accelerating which may not be very effective, the sender can alternatively import the wallet to another wallet provider say imtoken, and use a higher gas fee or just the imtoken default fee. I am certain it will scale through in a minute. why will people reduce gas fee in this period of congested network?

That's strange, why did the sender tell you that they can't do something for the pending transaction ?
I have sent eth to my other address and using low gwei, later i noticed the transaction was stay pending.
I was using metamask extension and there was a 'speed up' option there with using higher gas, maybe you can read here : https://metamask.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015489251-How-to-Speed-Up-or-Cancel-a-Pending-Transaction

And voila, my transaction was not pending anymore.
So it is strange if they told you that they can't do 'anything'.

Your transaction will not successful until you speed up or reorder for new transaction with high gas fee like 95 Gwei. I use Metamask and use high gas fee for quick transaction. High gas fee speeds up my transaction and my every transaction was successful in the last few months.

The gas fee used is too low and would take a lot of time to complete and confirm the transaction. That's the real issue Buddy.

You will need to contact the company to increase the Eth Gas fee to make the shipping process easier. during the recent spike in ETH prices has made Eth Gas fees expensive and probably more or less like that.
he already contacted the owner of the website (company) but they said they couldn't do anything, I also wonder why the company uses such low gas? don't they check the gas now? because I know every exchange has increased gas for the past few days. maybe he should wait until gas is below 25 gwei to get eth from sender

You are a receiver, so you can't do anything. I read so many posts that Ethereum now has the highest cost than before. What kinds of websites do you use 11 transactions instead of making one transaction? Although you can't cancel, my advice is to wait. When low users will use Ethereum transactions, your transaction could be complete.
Yes, there is nothing he can do. And waiting only the solution, but the question how long he have to wait?? I see the pending transaction has taken more than 20 days, it's already so long. Yeah, my question same, what kind of website using so low gas fee?, because I don't see any information mention about that.

It is nothing to do with the sender or the receiver, where the sender is coming from and where the receiver is, the problem is with the network more probably. Nowadays we got a lot of Defi projects that is ethereum network base, that will more likely to be the problem as it gets traffic in the network when tons of transaction are being thrown in the network, that causes the delays or worse the errors in transaction. These days, who would believe that you can easily get 11 ETH, can't believe these people.

The gas fee used is too low and would take a lot of time to complete and confirm the transaction. That's the real issue Buddy.
Using low fees during congested network is a hell of long time, that won't be likely to be confirmed until a week. If you want a faster transaction pay a higher fee so they will prioritize your block.
