Are you using a long-term strategy to make a percentage profit?

or you'd rather jump from project to project..?

It depends on the projects to be honest, most of the time investors are jumping from project to project to make short time profits when the market is not in good bullish trend while rarely few projects got more support and gain long term holders as well.So why not both just decide according to the situation, if you are not making profits then move to another and keep doing it to make more profits because at the end of the day you are looking for profits only.

I always go for long because I believe on a slow growth yet productive. Just like buying at the bottom price and wait for the moment that the price will rise again and time to sell my holdings. You have to create your own strategy out of anyone's advice because its your money, the money you will lose will be the result of your decisions. The market will always go up and down, the time will tell so make sure that you will ride the market perfectly.

Yes! This is so true! There is no concrete plan for trading or investing in the cryptocurrency market, and I think it's true for all other markets also! A flexible plan will help you deal with a lot of surprising things in the business field. I'll go long-term with BTC, ETH, and some projects that have a very high potential for success. However, I will switch from project to project to rather earn instant money than follow along its plan if the projects don't have a very high rate for success.

I prefer both. I have set some holding on my portfolio for those huge coin like bitcoin and eth, but I also have funds for doing short term trading. I think jump from one coin to another is also profitable in my opinion. This is where altcoin can be good. If the ATH of certain token have been reach, to be safe and lock your profits dont look back and find a new one. Whales also doing this, they are focusing on one project and when the pump or hype gone, they will leave it and find again another hidden gem tokens.

The best strategy for quality growth in the market is the strategy of flexibility. We roll based on how we see the market. Atimes a short term trade, other time, a middle term and most times a long term trade is necessary to take advantage of the price movement in the market. Its wise for one to be calculative while designing ones strategy for trade.

Long time all the way, crypto projects have slow growths and if the project is good enough they are best for long-term hold, only pump and dumps projects spikes up in value in a very short time and they need to be avoided

Learning to react for the current market situation save ourselves from losses unless its a coin like bitcoin or ethereum which we can trust for long term no matter how deep it goes.

for all the time that I am on the market, I have not seen any project, except bitcoin, in which I would be ready to invest money for a really long time. I prefer medium-term investments. One time in half a year I change my portfolio

Maybe go for the tagline "buy low and sell high" keep your funds for long term and thats it. Crypto is very volatile, you can earn and lose money on an instant. The safest method is the Warren Buffet, buyung and holding for long term. Sometime we dont know we already have fortune with it. Its just a matter of perspective and proper due diligence. Buy a coin, and trust it for long term. Bitcoin ia a great example.

Yes, I do. When i converted my hold coins into fiat just like now because we are in a bull market right now. Then I will just wait for the dump and rebuy coins. That's how I make my portfolio grow. Half profits will be spent off to buy again crypto coins.

or you'd rather jump from project to project..?

We have different views regarding project thing. But I sticked only to those projects that I've been proven to be beneficial for me. Jumping projects to projects isn't  good approach sometimes.

for the long term I only invest in top altcoins whereas for the short term I only invest in a few projects that have good news, because news will create a new pump project in a short time

my experience shows that people who hold their coins, in the long run, get more profit. People who do not know how to trade should not choose anything other than the long-term investment

In my case, in relation to cryptocurrencies it's an interplay of different income streams.

Here are the most important ones for me:

1.
From a small part of my monthly income of my job, I buy new cryptos every month. (30€-100€/month)

2.
Signature campaigns here in the forum:
Whereby here the income is not always predictable for a long time, because it depends on the lifetime of the respective campaign.
Above all, this is not generally valid, since it depends on such things as the forum rank and posting quality. (very variable between 30€-300€/month, possibly even more)
Currently I am at 0.0035BTCTC/week, converted at the current rate about 130€/month.

3.
Staking (Baking):
For example Tezos and TRON... (3%-10%)

4.
Referrals:
For example at FreeBTCitco.in* (https://freebitco.in/?r=1044880)...

5.
Diversification:
In my opinion, it is important, not to invest your capital in a single project or activity, but to invest around 5-7 different areas of the cryptocurrency's world!

I am in the long term. I don't get into projects to projects to expand my portfolio. I'm not productive with that strategy and that's why I've stayed to the traditional and conventional method of "buying low, sell high". That strategy works perfectly for me and it has lessened the stress and risk that I am taking. If you have a hard time getting a strategy that works for you, try them and see in what strategy fits your activity in trading. You can be an active daily trader or be simply a holder, and only trade if you are about to sell.

For me I don't stick to a particular pattern of trading, I do long term, midterm and day trading. The best strategy that works for me is midterm trading, even though quick gains come with day trading especially if there is an FA backing my TA for scalping. In trading, we keep learning from experience and with time, you will know what works best for you.

I think long term hodling has not profited after the late bull run 3years ago. Maybe now that bull is expected in crypto, longtime can be profitable. I don't really wait for long or have any particular trade pattern so long is profitable to sell.

I don't know what the token chasers or bounty hunters do but me as an investor of old coins, I find long term hodling working effectively for me. Well, maybe that's because the assets (particularly eth and bch) I hold already have a good foundation :D. I do not worry if many dump today because I know that it will bounce back unlike to new sprouting tokens which became useless the moment whales dump their coins.
or you'd rather jump from project to project..?
I am not on the right position to say this but do you think it was really effective? I mean, it seems like a trial and error set up.

I also prefer long term in some of my alt coins especially those projects that are still developing, however those projects way back 2018 some mostly failed that I need to stop loss. It is a lesson learned to still keep monitoring projects may they be popular this time or not since they may no longer profitable in the long run. There are different strategies and it will only depend  on what will work well with us or better create one that will suit to our trading style.

Trading, not always but only when I see an opportunity, I used to buy top coins when they lose value and wait for them to recover and sell again, meaning I hold stable coins like USDT alot than others

For me it is like just buying more and more with savings every month especially during the bear market, sometimes i do cashout when i need urgent funds but the main idea is to accumulate as many good coins as possible to take advantage of the bull season.

divided by 2, first put in one coin for the long term, here I choose etherum. then the next one, to jump from project to project as a daily reward if it really makes a profit. but it will keep spinning because sometimes there are projects that fail too.

I tried both the strategy of short and long term holding but I prefer the latter due to less risk and not necessary to monitor the market often. What you need to do is to choose a good coin that is ideal for long term because some coins are meant for long term holding e.g bitcoin and eth. However it still depends on your patience, in my case I have other job to focus on, so I forget for a while that I have crypto investment. Now that btc is increasing I do take profit then wait for another price increase.

I do both.  I hold those that I think have a great future and I day trade those that are highly volatile but have decent buy support.  There is no restriction in trading so why refrain from day trading different project's coin.  Often times we may stumble on a project that will give us more profit than the one we are hodling.

Great question and people should consider both when looking at their investment. I don't consider short term to be bad but long term is where I try to focus. I used to enjoy short term too but it lost its sparkle and I don't see anything wrong with it for those who like it.

a long-term strategy might be good. but I don't like this method, because I have limited funds and I don't want the same mistakes to be repeated. I prefer the short-term strategy. buy coins that have the possibility of going up and sell them immediately when you get a profit. My portfolio only contains 2 or 3 coins, I have never bought more coins. because it's too difficult and takes a lot of time to monitor the latest information.

and I will never again invest in new projects, even though the project was very convincing though.

I do not use only a long-term strategy because the choice of a strategy should also include diversification. some assets hold on my wallet for a long time and some of my assets I am ready to sell with short-term growth

Most projects from 2018 didn't pushthrough. Some failed on their way and only few left that we might be seeing still up today. Find yourself in which trading course you are good at. If there's a strategy that you are very effective, keep on doing it until you finally master it and formulate another one if you think that strategy starts to dry. You can always retry if you are not giving up but for those who are giving up, they have the option to get out and rethink again how they should trade or grow their portfolios.

YES.

I am more comfortable in long term hold, less stress for me as long as I can find a good project I trust for long term.
There's a lot of FUD in the market especially if you are holding for long term, but as long as you do your research, no matter what will happen, you will also follow the popular word in crypto which is "HODL"... simple strategy but it's working for me.

I use both a long-term strategy and short-term strategy because both approaches are work for me. I don't jump from one project to another because I think it will be too risky for me. If I make a profit from trading, I will split the profit to three parts, which is to use to buy the other coins after I analyze, I will save the amount in bitcoin, and if bitcoin price increase higher, I will sell it in usdt, and for the other part, I will withdraw to my bank account.

I jump project to project because I don't trust these new projects that are coming now a days and whenever I see a good opportunity I just go and grab it. I feel like these new projects are not gonna last that much long and with the bitcoin price reaching $11k today I don't think people will feel confident to diversify their money by investing in these projects for the long term when you can make more money with bitcoin margin trading or just have your money parked in bitcoin rather than going in other projects long term.

Yes, I prefer long term strategy rather than short term. Because long term is simple, just hold it. We don't need to monitor prices every day, low risk also suitable for people who are less skilled in trading. suitable for everyone. But short term strategy is only for a few people and also so risky.

Jump from project to project, this is also good strategy but make sure to choose big exchanges. Exchanges is no1 and project no2 for IEO

Yeah I agree, it depends on the project.

For coins such as $BAND $EDI $KAI $TOMO, over the last few weeks we set initial targets and raised them as prices increased, we had a trailing stop loss to mitigate risk at each of our targets.

1. I buy low and sell high through trading
2. I promote new projects to get tokens I can sell for Bitcoin or top altcoins
3. I still mine coins that are profitable using nicehash
4. I join IEO launchpad from binance when available

Actually i using long and short both term strategy for percentage profit. It depends on total circulation of tokens in market of my targeted project, roadmap, policy and their updates. I can say here CUR token where only 2million token on market and team also very well and their roadmap also very well. So i can go here for long term investment so that i can earn more money. But there are also some short term coins where i will go for short term. Basically one should for for both type investment for profit so that there will be romance in trading and investment.

thanks.

I now invest in cryptocurrency projects that conduct IEOs on top exchanges like Binance and then immediately after listing I sell my tokens and I repeat this constantly. It also happens that I buy various altcoins at low prices when the cryptocurrency market falls and I wait for the growth of the cryptocurrency market and the same altcoins to fix the profit.

Crypto is the most volatile market out there so I don’t agree with you here. It is not a market of slow growth, it is quite the opposite. You could get significant profit if you play your cards right in absolutely no time.

Well-established projects are good for holding in long term as they are consistent in delivering the profits sooner or later whereas the other projects that seem to appear much more volatile and are being manipulated by the whales must be traded carefully considering only the short term aspect as staying for too long will probably bring losses when the hype and manipulation is over.

It better to study the pattern and technical chats on a project before deciding whether to invest for long term or short term.

Lately, I am looking at micro-cap projects with good fundamentals and they are giving me good profits so far. My usual hold time is 1-3 months.

Since DeFi projects are the current market trend I am investing in them as well but with a 10-15% stop loss below my average buying price.

Don't make it too complicated simple strategy of crypto currency is buy when the market is low and sell if the goes up well this is how big Investors plan.

Yes there are many people who do day trading and make profit, also many of them plan for short term Investment but it is very risky in my opinion, analyse the coin and plan for long-term only then you will be in a safe zone always think about tomorrow for better future.

A well researched investment is enough to help you build your portfolio and make profit as time goes on, for as long as you can Hodl. When investing I research properly to know what’s right for me, I find out the best cryptocurrencies that would work out for me, then I invest in them and hold for a long time till the price grows.

It is just like what I have been doing since last year that price went down, and even early this year when the market dropped, all these things are good opportunities for some of us. The price of assets that I have invested in are bullish right now. Another way can be through CFD trading, this is for those that knows how it works.

A while ago I had a personal system of strategies for various types and models of investment and this certainly until a period with the evolution of the market. However after a while this system was no longer effective and all my strategies were not working. So the only strategy I use at the moment is daily strategy buying and selling with daily quotes.

That doesn't mean if you can double your money instantly. I should remind you that sometimes the trader can even get a huge loses too. It's better to bet into a new coin that has already launched on some launchpad platforms.

I don't believe in the long term because I have lost a lot of money, for now I only trade trades for profit. other than that I also do as you say jump from project to project.

for the long term I have never tried it at all, usually I fill the bag by utilizing certain moments. this year I only rely on news from the project that will make an upgrade event or move to their own mainnet and results that i obtained are pretty good it's just that it seems this way only applies to projects that have a volume and rank <500 because I think if ones holding mainnet are bad projects this won't give any hype.

I am the long term investor who pitches upon upcoming developments of projects and buy into  them whiles they are cheap. I sell for my profits once i see the price increase at least x50 but if i see that the coin is worth much holding for a while then i hold on some portion of it and sell part of it as well.

Depending on the coins we are going to buy, there are several coins like Ethereum, Litecoin and Binance Coin which
are very good hold for long-term. But new projects that are newly listed on popular exchanges, we can use the short-term
strategy, because new projects often occur hype. We can use this to make a profit, most importantly for short-term strategies,
don't be greedy for big profits. Can later buy at the price of the shoot or lose the moment to take profit.

First, you need to choose good projects to invest, if you choose small or shady projects, I believe your plan will go bankrupt. I often use a short-term investment strategy to invest, and often sell when 5-10% of the profits from it

Categorically speaking as a trader; i believe the best strategy to make profits from the crypto currency market is for you to see what the market hodls in the nearest day ahead, could be 1 day or 10 days or 30 days. The skill to see where a market movement will end ($) will bring you to an idea of when to get in trade, or get out of trade to pick up massive profits.

Strategies would depend and vary to different individual, depending on how you utilize it. Some prefer to cause fud, to provide them an avenue to force the weak hands and buy low; while some would rather, monitor market charts with TA/FA inclusive while waiting for a low value to come on in. The best way to make profits or grow your portfolio is to continously and always do your own researcgh.

I use both long-term holding strategic and short-term trades. It totally depends on the type of coin in am pouring my capital into. If it’s a well-established coin with a little less volatility, I would prefer holding it for long term to see some exponential growth in my portfolio and if it’s a new project or a highly volatile coin, I prefer trading in short term as it provides quick and significant profits.

Although short trading in such coins is often risky and there is a possibility that you can lose your complete or most of the initial capital. Most of the times, I don’t jump from project to project. I just continue buying low and selling high in order to increase the number of same coins and my overall portfolio.

Most of the time long term investors are probably not ones that prioritise expects in trading, anybody can be an investor as long as s(he) buys coins creating portfolios. There is no strategy in that, but to a daily traders, it simply on kind of volatility some projects has and somewhat the circulating supply, mere watch on these gives traders a good sense of humor about some certain coin for easy trading earning profits. Some coin rises and fall within 24hrs of trades on a daily basis, take time to study such coin and hit on buy button when it falls.

I learn a lot by reading this thread about strategies to make profits. Mine is just a short term holder, jump from a new altcoin project to the other that has a bounty on going to catch a good price when bounty hunter dumping after the distribution. Very risky since some new altcoin very over hype but never come back after that price dump so I have to be careful.

But of course, we must doing research about the project before pick them into our portfolio.

Well, there are not strategies to make profits; instead there is a way and pattern. To make profits trading or investing in crypto currencies you need to do it the right way. Find a worthy token; do your own research; pick your entry point, and also determine the profits you are expecting. There is no other short cut.

I would agree on this one because for me, what I believe is that there is really no fool proof plan that one can create when it comes to trading and investing in the cryptocurrency market, also on other markets as well. Though there is no fool proof plan, creating a basic and simple plan can be a good start for one to be able to have a concrete action plan on what to do and what to invest with. Of course, I go long term with the known cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and ethereum, and other projects that have a potential to be successful. But of course, do not put all your eggs in one basket as they say right.

I do not have a specific or well defined strategy, i usually buy coins at low price and also keep good coins and tokens from bounties for longterm especially if i have confidence in them and them wait for price to surge well over 100 to 200 percent from ico prices and then i take profit but this strategy can take long times so patience is key.

This depends on market conditions, because at the moment the market situation has recovered and is improving again. The price of BTC as well as some of the top altcoins have experienced significant price changes, I personally started making real profits with BTC trading and the occasional profit I made from trading, I reused them to buy some bags of my chosen altcoins, for the long term.

I prefer short/mid term investments (trading/gambling...etc); and when it comes to trading (which is my favorite activity) I tend to use these strategies:
1) Diversify my portfolio using strong cryptocurrencies (BTC, Eth, LTC...)
2) I do not use more than 30% in orders
3) setting up entry points, targets, and stop loss points
And of course keep learning because the more you learn the more you earn (and the less you lose, I guess)

In this space, the key is to be flexible. I grow my portfolio from airdrops, bounties, and trading cryptocurrency. I spend most of my time carrying out bounties for different projects, I hope would be profitable in the future and I trade on middle to short term because I don't have the skills and expertise needed for daily trades, so I set my buy and sell orders and walk away hoping for them to be executed.

Long term strategies are the better if you want to grow your portfolio value, because when we jump from project to project either we make a profit or the capital will be lost in that case we are going to lose big part of our capital so it is always better to choose slow and steady process to become profitable.

Or else you can split your capital as well and try to invest on a project with less capital and try to grow from it and never touch the capital of long term assets.

You need to research before you jump to the other project because that will be too risky if you don't know which project can increase later. Besides that, you will be difficult to know when the coin price will increase because the market can change anytime. But if you are in the right project, you will make a lot of money, and your waiting time will get paid. Trading will be a good strategy to increase our portfolio because that can give us a chance to make a profit.
I do not participate in projects anymore because the profitability is now too low, before I keep patronizing projects and many became successful but now all of the projects are most likely the same because they are focusing to earn profit than to focus on the products and services that they are offering. I also prefer to trade rather than investing in the current project nowadays because I can handle the risk very well on it. I do not have any long term strategies because I'm a scalper trader where I use minutes and hourly time frame when I trade altcoins.

A few years ago, I also held this point when the top altcoins and bitcoin were always safe investment places to provide more profit for me but they are really kids who never grow up, I mean was, their development has been slower than the trend of crypto every year, the returns we expect will take a long time to be activated. And I started to give up this thought, focus more on the trend of the market, people can look at IEOs, that can also be called a trend, profit is a lot when we join early, the trend is my strategy right now

that depends on the project and if something is good I usually stick with it rather than jumping from one to another. Some people do jump from one coin to another but that only hurts them in the long term. I used to jump from one to another as a beginner but I learned pretty quickly the drawbacks of that strategy.

I'm not too reliant on trading to make a profit, so I don't opt for trading daily. I only try to buy when the prices are cheap for me and hold them for the long term, on my portfolio there are dozens of altcoins I have bought since the end of 2019 and now I still hold them
it seems to me that trading cryptocurrency on a daily basis is very risky. The volatility is so high that you can regularly lose your money due to stop losses

I just hold the coin for long and once the price reach the highest peak or at least around 50% then that's the time that I want to sell my coins to make profit and wait the dump event to buy it again.  ;D
I have been doing the same thing too but in this case I always trey to put some into my reserved funds to anticipate the bearish trend that will be happening with another coin. I could buy at the dip and then I will try to sell that again at the tpeak price.

Thats why its not for everyone.
Daily trading is profitable but risky and those who have experience doing it is really making profit. However it doesnt suits for everyone specially to those who cant manage their time. Its best to try other strategy if you're having hard a time to trade in a daily basis. Perhaps long term holding can work for you.

My strategy of making profit is to buy low and sell high. I appreciate those that are holding for long but I do not belong to that set, I make sure I jump in when the price is low and take my profit immediately the price is reasonable to me.

This is a common tactic, which in the mouth of John Rockefeller sounded somewhat different: "Buy when blood is running in the streets". The problem is that in practice it is almost impossible to do this, but using technical analysis, we can buy and sell at closer values to the minimum and maximum.

I always like to go with the trend when investing in crypto and, right now that is with DeFi projects they are easily doing x2-x10 upon listing.

News based coins are doing pretty great too so you can look into them too.

Many people who trade can get good results, so if you say trading doesn't help you much, then you need to learn more about trading so that you can be helped when trading, because the bounties at this point are not that much good or not. can help all bounty participants.

I am actually doing both strategies. For projects that have long term potential, I hold my coins and hope that its price will pump later on. For a project that is hyping, I normally short my asset and seek better timing to buy and sell the coin. I think being flexible with your portfolio is a good thing.

for all the time that I am on the market, I have not seen any project, except bitcoin, in which I would be ready to invest money for a really long time. I prefer medium-term investments. One time in half a year I change my portfolio

i just want to share this well known strategy to your portfolio growth, Buying and holding investments is perhaps the simplest strategy for achieving growth, and over time it can also be one of the most effective.
Those investors who simply buy stocks or other growth investments and keep them in their portfolios with only minor monitoring are often pleasantly surprised with the results. An investor who uses a buy-and-hold strategy is typically not concerned with short-term price movements and technical indicators.

i shared my invest pocket between short-term (speculative) and long-term. in longterm pool i have btc, eth and some alts, in short-term - defi and credible dex projects
That's called as a diversification strategy, im also using this strategy to spread my money to the various legit coins. The percentage to get the profit will be less but it will be also less risky compared when you are putting your money into the one basket.
The majority of traders are using this strategy

My first rule is let the money makes the money for you. As soon as you have the profit from the previous trade or investment, use the profit to cycle-invest in the new portfolio. Remember to do research before making any investment. Arbitrarily putting your money around the internet might result in losing all of them. Therefore, be careful while doing so

There is another rule of mine: I would withdraw 50% of my profit in order to protect the money. Also, I think it is necessary to keep those money safe. Nothing ensures that I will not lose all of my investment. I need something to backup my plan

nice choice, i'd rather invest in alts and defi tokens since they are hyping a lot. trying to find some new dex with good rewards for liquidity providers

It's not that difficult to create your own strategy. You just need to adhere to the basic rules of trading and monitor the market situation. The most important thing is to determine for yourself the priorities and goals for which you are tuned. Trying to keep abreast of the events of the fundamental plan, events in the world greatly influence the changes in the crypto space.

Long-term strategy is always the way to go. I haven't done short term jumping from altcoin to altcoin for many years. It's a waste of time unless you have very little money and think that you'll do better gambling a few hundred dollars away than buying BTC or ETH.

Some of you think that DEFI might be the way to go but it's probably going to be no different from ICOs. A big hype at first and then a clash of expectations and reality.

It is extraordinary if you are able to share your investment in two terms, namely the long term and the short term, because each option has been analyzed very well, but you also do not forget one thing, which is to keep it well, so that your profit can be maximized.

The new Dex won't be any better than the already popular Alts tokens, so instead of spending your time on the new Dex, I think you are more suited to choosing the old Dex at this point.

1. I do day trading and when I make a good profit like 10$ I wait for the next day, I don't trade all around the clock because it's more risky

2. I promote projects that I feel are good enough and sometimes I get lucky if the project became successful and the pay rewards too

3. I mine cryptocurrency most especially Ethereum
