Title: Request for Altcoin Gambling Child Board
Post by: Coin_trader on July 29, 2020, 03:08:36 AM
I want to propose a Child Board dedicated for gambling in altcoin section. Altcoin Services Section is too crowded by many random altcoin services which result to gambling thread was easily being flooded and can't notice by possible player. Only few gamblers are visiting Altcoin Section since there is no gambling board there.

It's a bit unfair that decentralized casino that can't do cross chain to BTC can't be post on Gambling Section on Marketplace which technically speaking, they are classified as gambling. So I believe it will be balance to create a separate Gambling Child Board in Altcoin Section if posting an ANN thread of an Altcoin Casino in Marketplace>Gambling is prohibited.

I hope that theymos will consider my humble request.

Thank and regards.

I have been thinking the same thing for a while now. why not just allow altcoin gambling site to be able to post on gambling board since I don't really see much of altcoin gambling site being made(or I am not just visiting altcoin board that much). or just like you suggested create an altcoin gambling board for an altcoin gambling site. I've seen some good or latest decent altcoin gambling site that is being quickly buried in altcoin board and ending up not getting much of traffic to their thread because of it.

Why do we need a child board for altcoin gambling?

AFAIK, crypto casinos nowadays are multiple coin accepted casinos. They usually accept some very basic coins: sure Bitcoin is their first priority. Next ones can be counted as Ethereum, DASH, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Tron, USDT, etc. How do you will classify those casinos? Should they be called as bitcoin-accepted casinos or altcoin-accepted casinos or more generally crypto-accepted casinos?

Any casino that allows altcoins as a deposit option but not Bitcoin as a deposit option is certainly a weird one. And casinos with bitcoin deposit options can post in the regular Gambling board. I personally don't like catering to the altcoin boards more than I have to since there is a constant stream of drivel and inanity from the users that plague the replies.

Or maybe there is not enough interest for altcoin gambling?

I remember reading that there has to be a number of topics before a childboard is warranted. I checked the altcoin service announcement and there are about 3 pages about gambling or gaming. Is that enough?

I think Coin_trader is also aware of this fact.

He did say "decentralized casino" and he is probably talking about gambling dapps https://dappradar.com/rankings/category/gambling

That is more than enough. The minimum requirement is about one page worth of topics, IIRC. It might even be half a page worth of content on the first page.

I'm pointing out Dapps(Decentralized Application) which all games are based on a specific blockchain like EOS or Tron. I'm very aware on what you are talking about because I'm playing in multiple casino platform including Dapps with a significant amount. You can check my history to verify that I'm not chitchatting here about my gambling experience.

Dapps crosschain to BTC is very hard to implement tho. The casino that we all know like sportsbet and FJ are not decentralized. This is a simple request to theymos. No one harm during the process.  :P

There's no need to add altcoin gambling section as Gambling section itself already accepts any kind of thread as long as it is about gambling (lol of course). Is there any thread makers whom want to post altcoins on gambling? Or there are even casino projects that only focuses on altcoins? I don't think so. Such threads can fit on both atlcoin discussion and gambling. if you were still aren't satisfied, better consider the descriptions of such boards and what those really are for. Nothing is prohibited as long as the ANN thread fits where it was posted.

And I think this would fit on Meta section. But moving this would be unnecessary as the suggestion wouldn't also be considered nor be agreed by most of the users in the forum, even for the administrators.

Somehow I agree with you, some gambling casino now are relying too on altcoins  to increase base users of those platform, It will be good if they have the same section in the altcoin boards.

Unless Gambling section will allowed those altcoin casino ann thread to be posted then there is no need at all.

Bitcoin is totally decentralized but the gambling casinos we all used aren't. I supported the idea of separate gambling board on altcoin section. Plenty of dApps related to casino are increasing and its a waste to put them (some really good dApps) on Altcoin service/discussion board.

This is Meta section and also you can refer to my previous post above you to give you enlightenment about what I'm discussing here. Please.

FYI, I already requested this to Mprep and he suggest me to request it to theymos since he can't create child board.  :)

But still they also have Bitcoins right? they just had these altcoins as an alternatives so I think it should stay where it is (Gambling Section) besides that Board wasn't meant only for Bitcoin/Fiat, it refers as a whole/generally.

There are, for example just-dice.com, the first investable crypto casino, has been alt-only for years now:

Looking at the Marketplace (Altcoins) boards I see only a handful of alt-only casinos though. Are you sure there's enough of them to warrant a dedicated section? As mentioned by many posters above most casinos offer BTC as well anyway and thus fall into the regular Gambling section.

Not really. This thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5256013.0) was moved from Gambling to Service Discussion (Altcoins) because it's ethereum gambling.

Is there any thread makers whom want to post altcoins on gambling? Or there are even casino projects that only focuses on altcoins? I don't think so.
Other than the example above and what @HeRetiK said, here are the others:

There are more if you search on that board.

OP is pointing to gambling dapps (decentralized applications) which don't have bitcoin options at the moment because its hard to implement.

Dapps crosschain to BTC is very hard to implement tho.
