Title: Non-custodial LTC lending? Do they exist?
Post by: kwando on August 03, 2020, 01:43:03 AM
Hi guys, new here.

Are there any non-custodial (Aave, Compound etc) lending platforms where I can lend my LTC?

I know there are centralised options like Cred, Blockfi etc which require KYC and are not decentralised platforms. It's also unclear how they generate the returns.

Is there are a wBTC equivalent for LTC?

TIA

I haven't come across any.

Most popular and successful DeFi (https://defipulse.com/) platforms are running on the Ethereum Blockchain. Why don't you just exchange the LTC for any of the ETH based DeFi tokens?  ;)

I don't trust eth for defi as it looks to have already had quite a run. I can't yet find a defi version of ltc but I'd suggest usdc or dai if you want to lend and wbtc only if you have to...

Alternatively binance don't need kyc and you could lend on there for a few %.

The only option for LTC on ethereum is with ptokens (http://ptokens.io), on the home page it says pLTC proposed. But in fact its already live on the mainnet.
With that being said I'm not aware of any defi lending platforms which actually accepts pLTC. I guess its still a bit early.

I'm really not aware of any non-custodial lending platform that uses LTC. Wrapped litecoin isn't a thing for now. Maybe in the future.
