Title: Getting scared is useful!
Post by: CryptocurencyKing on August 14, 2020, 02:40:51 PM
Your scared, use it!
The cryptocurrency ecosystem could be a very daring one, just like in the Hollywood movies like the Jurassic Park having it's unique ecological niche and diverse extinct animal life intended for amusement turning out to be a biological weapon that can course the most damage. So also is the cryptosphere or as most persons may view it. A coded system on a blockchain that should be exploited for various individual purpose could turn out to damage us in ways unimaginable and unexpected. So, we get scared and are often afraid to take a first step. This is not unusual, with all the menace in the cryptosphere out there to get what you've got and hope to have, it becomes really dangerous to conduct business safely on the web. This is where the concept of being scared becomes useful. Getting scared when you want to test fresh or new waters is normal. Concepts have it that, 'when you approach a new river and desires to swim it, don't go ahead and dive in. First, step on the shoreline to determine it's depth/tide and only then can you swim'. Getting scared is useful that way, it pushes you to research on that which your curious and enthusiastic about.

How to use fear
In my opinion as far as this research goes, there are basically two ways to use fear;

1. Cure your curiosity and feed your enthusiasm
Fear or being scared comes like a dare. Every major intention and success was given birth to by the womb of impossibility. The fear is always going to be there. The fear of;
* Scammers
* Phishing sites/platforms
* Hackers
* Investing in shit coins
* Using unsecured wallets

And a lot of others of these trends.
These elements exist to raise our cautiousness high and push the need for advancement in available models. Fortunately, a lot of the need to know topics on these have been treated and continues to be updated in this forum. Some of them includes;

A user in the forum says, 'The first thing you do as to validating an acquired information to ensure it's value is brought forth is to take a step' @Smartvirus. Post link;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268633.0.
This is very crucial as it validates the truth in the acquired information, builds trust in the system and encourages you to either continue or retrace your steps. Else, your just stock where you started. Of what difference is someone who can read and has refused to read and a person that doesn't know how to read. I guess they are both the same. No difference what so ever untill proven otherwise.
Don't let your fear scare you off a path, use it to shield your way through.

It's really nice of you to have seen fear or being scared in this kind of way, as a dare! At least this one has no harm in it if you adhere to speculations. For a fact, there are always signs that most persons fail to read. This could be tide up to not being prepared enough and getting scared can really get you there. Nice of you to remind us of how effective fear could be and turning it to our advantage. Good one.

This actually applies not only to cryptocurrencies but to your entire life: overcome your fears by finding what causes the fear in the first place.

But this stuff doesn't really fit everyone. I guess this could be put in an equality relationship with being open-minded, especially because some people would rather just not know what they're doing wrong at all than learn and fix the issues.

Like, instead of quitting trading because you've always done it wrong, maybe it's time to study more about trading and chart analysis. If you think you can handle more info while maintaining your interest, then just find out the cause of your fear and fix it.

I think my greatest fear in cryptocurrency is holding coins that might get into trouble if market will crash. For now, I need money and just saving it in crypto to get chances to earn or if not just to get to use of it in doing transaction since I have the app that uses crypto to pay bills or literally serves as an e wallet. Anyway, for now I was able to see that my savings increases and I made a line where I need to sell it right away if the coin market price drop to the line or in the line of price I wanted to sell. Just to be more safe just in case another market crash will going to happen.

Why? In the first place you should know by now that crypto is very volatile and if you are going to be a holder, you should have that mental toughness not to be afraid if the price crashes and portfolio going down as well. I think scared is not the term, but paranoid, as once Andy Grove of Intel said, "only the paranoid survive".

One of my scariest experiences was dealing with emotion and how to accept loss. I was so discouraged and disappointed at every drop in price especially when you bought some coins during bear trend. I was waiting and depressed, plans were out of road map but all paid well at the end
The sweet thing about crypto is patient, learn to control emotion. Be ready to accept whatever comes after and lastly avoid being greedy.

It makes sense since you should be scared about spending your bitcoins since if you lose it it's like losing real money and you'll feel the burn of a scam but this time there are no chargebacks

Bitcoin is real money the difference is just it's area of operation, being on the web. So applies to every other Altcoins, the way you choose to handle it is strictly up to you but then, no need to be scared. Life is a risk, risk takers get to go through life quite well but, you don't take risk cheapishly.

I agree with you, the only main factor that yield result is patient, so many disappointment and frustration comes as a result of bear trends on the a particular coin you purchased, it gives a deep sense of anger in investors. The keynote to this euphoria is hodl, despite the fact that the market is against your expectation, be ready to accept it and move on. It just a simple rule to understand.

Yeap bro I really in love with your excellent researched work because researching is the basic criteria of development in bitcointalk community, this post really make sense to the readers most especially I.with this mighty illustrations an average observing students or beginners can be able to understand the concept of fear in all ramifications of cryptoccurrency. Fear of scamming through emails, fears of scammers through ponzi scheme investment.
Fears makes people not buy bitcoin and ETH as investment.

Well yeah, if we can manage our fear, it can be good for us. Moreover in order to avoid being scammed, phished, failed, and more. however, ensure that we can really manage the fear. for, if we cannot, the fear may also limit our ideas, acts, efforts, chance, and also our expectations. In this case, actually we need to balance the emotional management not only the fear but also others likely panic, wise, careful, patient, and more.

Yes, there should always be balance. It's okay to be afraid sometimes. It's human nature. But being afraid too much to the point that you don't want to take risks at all won't give you fun that the life can give or lessons you may learn.

It's okay to be afraid, but it's also okay to take risks for risks make life worth living. It's just a matter of when — when you should be afraid and take a step back, and when to take that leap of faith. This is not just about cryptocurrency but about life in general.

Your fear should not eat your confidence in manipulating your coins because it might bring a negativities to your mindset.

Try to deal with that and become optimistic and confident. You should start with your privacy and security, after that, you should seek more information about how coins will make you grow.

Here in this forum, like what the OP have listed, you can visit and spend time reading some information there. That will help you to become aware about those scammers and how they more and work. In order to avoid that, there are wallets that are guaranteed to be safe and keep you out of scams. Just be patient and spend some time doing a lot of research because that will be your foundation in cryptocurrency industry.

In my understanding, fear is sometimes really useful. Once we are afraid of something, we become more experienced. The main thing is that fear does not get stuck in our mind for long enough. Experiencing something, we know what to expect next time and in some sense be ready for it.
If we talk about Crypto, then we need to learn from those who are more experienced. When investing somewhere in your funds, you always need to understand that you can lose it all. A cool head and a sober mind, these are the things that will protect you from the fear of loss.

In some cases it is better to be afraid as it can save you from the danger ahead. Because online, lots of scams and phishing websites are constantly created by scammers to trap people. In this case, if there is fear, such scams can be avoided.

But don't lose all your confidence because of fear. Be smart along with the fear. Because if you are not smart, your confidence level will decrease depending on the extra fear. It affects not only the crypto world, but also real life.

Scared is a very useful action let's take relate into the world of trading first, some people are getting afraid with the FOMO and because of too much greedy they cannot make a good profit but with the use of the fearsome of the traders makes a play a safe move which you can earn profit without risking too much but the life is full of risk.

Sometimes curiosity gives us a lot of lesson like the OP given sometimes scared and fear is one of the effective ways if you are into the internet world today there are a lot of click bait, phishing and scamming other people it's better to become aware of the things we are having right now. And now because of the curiosity of OP, conducted a list of a good opportunities to make awareness about the possible risk and lessen the fear and scared about your safety because you are now finally conscious.

So, to summarise these, it means scare Is also being carful or cautious of every step you take which will eventually bring success at the very end.. You are right.. But at times, we need to get rid of fear to avoid a lot of shits.

This is true, but we must always be careful to balance our sense of fear with courage. Caution is a duty when dealing with any deal to reduce or avoid losing money, but sometimes we must be courageous in order to start profitable business

I love how to see people change their mindset from doubtful to believing, from fear to courage? It is everything we need to change in order to change our life as well. I know not all of us are have that courage to interact with fear in many things but we should have to make it otherwise, it could be a hindrance to our success.

If we keep ourselves being ignorant to the things around because we are fear enough to know and try it, not only scammers will attack us, it could be our self-esteem as well. And it for sure, we can't move our life status if we keep things like this. Crypto investment could be of high-risk but in the other way, it could also a learning experience.

Indeed. As you mature, you will realize that staying on your comfort zone forever is not healthy. You know, the feeling of emptiness because you already mastered the thing that you do. It no longer brings fun since you feel that it became just like a routine for you. So we ought to step up and explore the vast sea of knowledge.

If mankind is advancing naturally over hundreds of centuries then so do you :D. That's what I realized as I grow older. I realized that being an engineer alone is not enough. I want to become a succesful crypto investor too (a farmer as well). The concept of cryptocurrency really amazed me since day one that's why I'm eager to learn about it until now. Though I already lost hundreds of dollars in here, I'm not totally bothered because I understand that failure is part of of the process and not the opposite of success. I know all the sacrifices will be worth it someday :).

You should fear the unknown, not the known. Scams, lies and the like are easily recognizable when you know how they work, but if you don't then that's the time that you should stop. The saying that information is power is not a lie, trust in the information you obtained and make judgements based on that. Like the posts you quoted here, information got them to where they are, and by honing that knowledge, they're basically aware of what to do and what not to do. Never be afraid of doing something, be afraid of doing something that you thought you wanted, but wasn't.

PS: Don't YOLO, like seriously. Especially if you're on the edge and would want to go YOLO on something you don't really know. Successful stories of people doing YOLO moments aren't really YOLO, they had substantial information beforehand that helped them such as experience and knowledge, it's basically a calculated risk or something similar.

You need to satisfy your curiosity to understand how things work. Sometimes you need to engage with the things that you are scared of, or the things that you have no idea about. You will not learn without facing your ignorance and fear about something specifically in cryptocurrency investments.

You need to deal with the reality that scammers and hackers are existing so you need to be aware of it to protect yourselves becoming their victim.

It is easy to determine a scams, their schemes are very sketchy and suspicious if you found them existing randomly in a form of ads or links that are doubtful.

Indeed. Sometimes it's much better to take the risk and engage in the things that scare you because being confident and not having hesitations on what will be the outcome might help you develop and build your skills. It is much easier to know illegal activities like scam or fraud because if you are protecting and avoiding things that will harm you, you will not be a victim of it.

Taking risk is always part of someone's caliber when it comes to dealing with such situation. I dont know but I learned to risk everything and loss something. Most of the newbies are totally not scared to get scammed or just say they never learned.

Scam and fraud will not stop so we must ready ourselves to adopt with these kind of fraudulent activities. Before I was so confident with the airdrop and bounty and even invest on ICOs without even understanding the project but I managed to change that due to experience.

We all have that fear inside but we ain't possible not to manage it if we are willing to make a change. We can't just live that fear always as it will be a reason for our failures. We need to come out stronger and face the challenge we, therefore, need to reject that feeling. It is just our mind who can make it completely vanish and only us who can make it.

We definitely can find more interesting things around if we don't have such kind of feeling live inside.

We are all scared of something, and if you would not do anything to understand the fear, you will live your life being scared, and that doesn't help you grow. It would mean a lot if you try to understand why you are scared in the first place anyway? One example is being involved in trading, you're scared cause you might lose your money, so how can you stop yourself from being scared? Then learn a lot about trading, minimize the risk, learn from others experiences. You might not lose all the fear but at least you minimize it, you gain confidence in yourself, hoping that you can earn from trading. Its better than wanting to trade but scared, you will live a life of what if's. Kind of sucks to live with those "What if's".

Fear can be good and bad at the same time.

Fear keeps your feet on the ground and stops you from being overcondfident but at the same time it can turn into panic and turn off your thinking.

I guess it depends on how you react to a little bit of fear. Like when you approach the edge and are about to fall a litle bit of fear will keep you from killing yourself but too much will paralyze you and make you stuck there unable to move back.
