Title: 54.4C The highest temperature on Earth ?
Post by: Mbitr on August 17, 2020, 01:46:29 PM
The highest temperature on Earth may well have been recorded in Death Valley , California on Sunday .
54.4 degrees Celsius !!! It’s still waiting for formal recognition by experts, but is should be verified in the next few weeks.
The other previous record although higher is 56.6C , again in Death Valley in 1913, has been disputed by many experts for inaccuracy.

Why is 56.6C disputed? Wasn't it measure accurately during that time or equipment wasn't too reliable?
I guess if 56.6C is accurate, it probably means that 54.4C isn't the highest known temperature ever (accurately) recorded on earth?

I presume the equipment back in 1913 wasn’t particularly accurate back then ! It was over 100 yrs ago  :)

Its not the place for people to live, its just a desert like area and it is not possible to survive there for most of the living things other than few desert plants. In the next 100 years where we are about to hit? 100C ::)

This is a very high temperature compared to my country in my country. Sometimes the temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius, and I feel very hot. I do not know how people can tolerate all this heat. It seems that heredity has a role in tolerating all this heat.

So, has it has been recorded in thud Death Valley, means the high temperature won't make anyone last long on this Valley. Although it may Alter.
But A higher reading of 134F, or 56.6C a century earlier, also in Death Valley, is disputed. That's the highest temperature of all time. Because Its a century ago.
This means Death Valley is actually a Death Valley.

There has been an update - and it looks like even if this temp is verified it will only be the 3rd highest temperature on Earth .
Even though the top 2 temps are not fully verified the WMO - World Meteorological Organisation - will stand by these first 2 records

No 1. 1913 - Death Valley 56.7 C
No 2. 1931 Tunisia 55 C
