Radix partners with Ren Protocol to bring fully decentralized wrapping to the Radix DeFi ecosystem

https://www.radixdlt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/radix-ren-protocol.jpg (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/radix-partners-with-ren-protocol-to-bring-fully-decentralized-wrapping-to-the-radix-defi-ecosystem/)

Radix DLT, 18th August 2020

We are thrilled to announce that we have joined the Ren Alliance alongside other major DeFi projects such as Aave, Kyber Network, DDai and others. By joining the Alliance we further our goal towards bringing a fully decentralized wrapping solution to Radix through RenVM. Ren is already providing proven wrapping services for Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Zcash, forming a key enabling technology for the Ethereum DeFi ecosystem.

The Ren Protocol allows native assets to be locked and corresponding “wrapped” tokens to be minted automatically on other public ledgers, without centralized counterparty risk. Ren’s vision is to become the inter-ledger settlement layer that all crypto assets can move seamlessly across, removing the need to trust custodians or other centralised points of failure.

“We are thrilled to be starting the work of integrating RenVM into the Radix public network, providing another low-friction bridge into the Radix ecosystem. Today, there are over $250Bn of crypto assets, with most of them locked out of DeFi. Ren’s innovations allow us to start unlocking that value, while retaining the trustless and permissionless nature of the underlying assets. We’re very pleased to be working with them to bring these assets to the Radix ecosystem as well.” – Piers Ridyard, CEO, Radix DLT.

By integrating RenVM, the Ren Protocol helps Radix move one step closer to enabling seamless bridges between the Ethereum, and Radix DeFi ecosystems, helping to fulfil our vision of reducing fees and increasing liquidity for both.

Radix is the only real solution to DeFi’s issues – here’s why

19th August 2020

The DeFi industry is growing. It’s maturing. It currently has $6.4Bn of assets in the system (that’s up from $2.5Bn in the last 30 days).

Yet with every step forward comes more strain on the Ethereum network. Transaction fees become even more unsustainable, and with every new DeFi application, there are new security risks, audit requirements, and even higher barriers to entry for new developers.

This isn’t anyone’s fault, Etherum was just never designed to serve the needs of DeFi, and as a result, it is constraining the growth of the industry. That is the reason Radix is building a layer 1 protocol that is built specifically for DeFi – DeFi is the future of finance, and Radix will be the future of DeFi.

However, Radix isn’t the only protocol working towards this goal, there are various approaches to tackling different issues facing DeFi. While each has their merits, in this article we are going to look at how Radix compares in the two main areas that DeFi is currently experiencing the most growing pains on Ethereum; Scalability & Development Ecosystem (security).

How Radix is Building the Future of DeFi

Ethereum 2.0, Polkadot, Avalanche, Near, Cosmos break DeFi! Our latest whitepaper explains how Radix fixes it and makes it scale.

Radix is the first layer-1 protocol for Decentralized Finance, and today we’re excited to release our DeFi Whitepaper that explains what that means for Radix, and most importantly, the continued growth and mass adoption of the DeFi ecosystem.

If you’re a dApp builder, DeFi user, or just someone who is ready to see DeFi go mainstream, this is something you don’t want to miss!

The DeFi Roundtable: The Path to Decentralization Ft MakerDAO, Chainlink, Aave, Argent

Check out the DeFi Roundtable, held on July 30th with Stani Kulechov, CEO at Aave, Matthew Wright, Head of Strategy and Operations at Argent, Greg Diprisco, Head of Business Development at  Maker Foundation, Johann Eid, Product Manager at Chainlink, Piers Ridyard, CEO at Radix  and Jack Purdy, Research Analyst at Messari as Moderator.

The Roundtable tackled several DeFi topics that included:

- CeFi vs DeFi : The right balance between centralization and decentralization while keeping true to the ethos of DeFi

- Yield farming, staking and pooling: Is it a sustainable method of user growth, incentivization and token appreciation?

- Risks: Are there systemic risks within the DeFi ecosystem? Are collateralized assets and current incentive structures creating risks or providing organic growth?

- DeFi adoption: Are the current barriers to adoption limiting DeFi to a select crypto community audience?

Breakthrough in Consensus Theory: Scaling DeFi Without Breaking Composability

Radix DLT, 21st August 2020

Check out the recently published paper (https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.04450) by University of California Davis’ Prof. Sadoghi and his ExpoLab consensus experts that analyzed the inherent security and scalability of Cerberus’ braided consensus design.

With Ethereum currently peaking at over $100 a transaction, it’s clear that the world needs a better blockchain platform to take DeFi mainstream (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/defi-whitepaper-how-radix-is-building-the-future-of-defi/). That platform needs to fix the tech shortcomings holding DeFi back from broad adoption … while not breaking the stuff that has successfully taken DeFi to billions of dollars in locked assets (and counting (https://defipulse.com/)) in a shockingly short period of time.

Top of the list of shortcomings is poor scalability, but the current solutions to this problem (simple forms of sharding and layer-2 solutions) fail the second part of the DeFi litmus test: they break composability, the most important tech enabler for DeFi there is.

Avoiding the compromises of Ethereum 2.0, Cosmos, Polkadot, and other “scalable” layer-1’s, Radix and its breakthrough consensus design, Cerberus, uniquely provide the complete solution DeFi needs.

Now, the Cerberus concept has been formally proven in a groundbreaking paper written in collaboration between the Radix team and a consensus and distributed systems Professor and his team of researchers at the University of California Davis. You can read that paper here: [link (https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.04450)

On-ledger, Recurring Developer Revenue. Incentives to Buidl.

Radix DLT

Radix Pioneers self-sustaining, on-ledger distribution of Developer Revenue via Component Marketplace

The world runs on open source code. Collectively, that code represents one of humanity’s greatest accomplishments – a way in which we have self organised and done incredible feats of engineering together.

However, there has often been a conflict between contributing to open source and benefitting from the use of that open source code – especially if you are an individual developer coming up with a great idea for a library or snippet, but not wanting to build an entire commercial application.

With the birth of Radix, we saw that there was now a new path – one where the individual developer, as well as the dApp builder and company, can be incentivised to contribute to an ecosystem, but in a way that is market and community driven. One where versioning and payment is baked into the very fabric of how you can build and operate on ledger, while preserving transparency and the spirit of open source.

We are therefore pleased to announce a major feature of the Radix network – the Developer Royalties System. This unique system creates a new decentralised, on-ledger way for developers to generate on-going revenue for their contributions to the Radix ecosystem, while also accelerating the ability for others to build on top of this core functionality.

In this article, we are going to explain how the Radix developer royalty system works, what Radix “Components” are, and why they will be a revolution in building secure decentralised applications quickly and efficiently.

Scaling DeFi - Radix is a protocol for building DeFi applications

BraveNewCoin, 15 September 2020

Piers Ridyard is the CEO of Radix, a layer-one protocol built for DeFi. DeFi applications are currently built on protocols that were not designed to scale. Radix has built a scalable, secure, high-throughput protocol for building applications and tokens. Building on the successes of existing public ledgers, Radix’s protocol is a permissionless framework on which DeFi services can be developed and run. Radix claims to have solved two of the biggest challenges in DeFi - scalability, and security.

The Radix Economics – A Token for an Ecosystem

Radix DLT, 24 September 2020

Today we are pleased to publish the latest iteration of the Radix Economics paper. In this paper, we introduce a new priced-based unlocking mechanism for both the upcoming release of the E-RADIX ERC20 token, as well as the RADIX TOKEN, which is scheduled to be released in Q2 of 2021 on the RADIX LEDGER.

The paper also provides additional information about token allocations, a small change to the emission rate of the RADIX TOKEN and some more details about the total distribution of E-RADIX TOKENS vs the RADIX TOKEN.

To give context to the price based unlocking, E-RADIX tokens are priced at $0.039 per token in the token sale.

The pace of progress has only been accelerating over the summer months, and the next big milestones include the release of the ERC20 eRADIX token, due in Q4, as well as the announcement and launch of the first major Radix product, and the RPN-1 Drop 2.

Our busy schedule is happening in parallel to the “main event” and we are pleased to share that the Radix Mainnet is on track for release in Q2 2021!

Below you can find the full roadmap:

In addition to the roadmap, you can follow all of our development progress in real-time on the Radix GitHub page (https://github.com/radixdlt). Radix joins the Messari Register

Radix DLT, 29th September 2020

Radix, the first layer-1 protocol for Decentralized Finance (DeFi), is pleased to announce that it has joined forces with Messari as we continue to find ways to increase transparency around the Radix project. Transparency forms the heart of public decentralised ledger technology and we are proud to follow this core principle of decentralisation by signing up to the Messari Registry.

Radix Token Sale Timeline Update

Radix DLT, 1st October 2020

It has been a busy summer, with some amazing partnership announcements, the latest Whitepaper (http://radixdlt.com/whitepapers/defi) being released, and even had the consensus algorithm, Cerberus, mathematically proven by the University of California Davis in an academic paper (https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.04450). There was the release of the Decentralised Finance white paper (http://www.radixdlt.com/whitepapers/defi), and the second code drop (“Drop 2”) for the Radix Public Network v1 (RPN-1) is on schedule for the mainnet launch.

Alongside all of the exciting news, the team has been hard at work preparing for the ERC20 E-RADIX token launch and token sale. This update will share what you can expect over the coming weeks regarding Radix tokens.

Taking DeFi to the NEXT LEVEL ? - Radix DLT Protocol overview

BoxMining, 01/10/2020

With Decentralized Finance rapidly gaining traction and adoption, Radix is becoming a hot topic. Radix is specifically built for Defi - being able to drastically scale AND maintain composability. Composability means dapps can communicate with each other with ease - even if they are on different shards.

"Decentralized finance unbundles banking services (borrowing, lending, investing) into applications that can interoperate on a single public network and compete for users’ wealth with the best offerings. DeFi and fintech will complement the traditional system, creating new tools that wouldn’t have been possible before, while drawing in new assets in a way that requires close integration and cooperation."

Important:

1) The Radix Token Sale starts at 18:00 UTC, October 8th via the official token sale platform. This is the only place to purchase Radix tokens prior to distribution.

2) No official Radix Tokens have been created yet. Be careful of fake tokens.

But wonder why they are not getting much audience here from the forum?
It's caused by people were choosing to join in the telegram group directly rather than try to ask something related to the radix through this announcement thread and they feel more convenience to ask the dev directly regarding radix.

People are just joining those defi projects with too much hype and promise of huge airdrop?
This is not the same as another defi who has been putting so many promises but zero results. Radix is the next generation of defi.

Radix Token Sale UPDATE

Radix DLT, Piers Ridyard, 5 October 2020

Hello,

It has been a little over 72 hours since we announced the Radix token sale, happening this week on October 8th at 18:00 UTC.

As we expected, there have been a lot of responses and many questions about the sale.  We have put together a FAQ to specifically address the most common questions that have been asked. You can read that FAQ HERE (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=ccd2112180637e40a1ea744f327b8607&i=167A2677A11A2473) and view our main Token Sale Page here (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=ccd2112180637e40a1ea744f327b8607&i=167A2677A11A2468).

We have had thousands of new people sign up for our updates since the announcement.  We realize that because of the interest, the website may have a heavy load at launch. We are doing everything we can to have a robust and smooth registration process, including how we are planning to deal with traffic on the backend.  Be assured we will do everything in our power to make sure things run smoothly and fairly and that we accommodate everyone who wants to participate in the sale.

We continue to be dedicated to providing you as many resources as possible about the development and direction of the Radix project.  On Wednesday, Oct 7th at 17:00 UTC+1  we will be having a live AMA with myself and Dan Hughes, founder and lead developer of Radix, and it would be great if you could join! We will provide a link to the stream via our social channels nearer the time.

We will be able to answer most questions apart from questions about price. You can submit questions ahead of the AMA via this form (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=ccd2112180637e40a1ea744f327b8607&i=167A2677A11A2474).

Seven years of hard work have led us to this point.  We truly believe that Radix will very soon be a name brand in the crypto landscape, a game-changer in DEFI and the first crypto project to truly service the real business world.  We don’t take these assertions lightly, and we believe neither should you.

We look forward to discussing our vision with you, listening to your feedback, and creating real solutions together in the years to come.

Radix Token Sale Today! 18:00 UTC

Radix DLT, Piers Ridyard, 8 October 2020

Hello,

Today is a day seven years in the making.

In late 2013, when Dan Hughes sat down at his computer and began coding, he certainly did not envision such a long runway into launch. But his intense and constant desire to develop a true crypto platform that could handle unlimited use cases, which could scale with ease, and provide functionality and speed and that would incentivize developers to continually make it better, more active and robust, has all led up to today.

If you are interested in participating in the sale please go to the token sale page (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=169A2679A11A2484).

The sale will open at 18:00 UTC time. The sale is first come first serve.

The token sale page (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=169A2679A11A2484) also has all the details about pricing, distribution and token rewards. You can also read the FAQs (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=169A2679A11A2488) for additional information.

Whether you choose to take part in the public sale or not, there is an open invitation for you to join and follow the project into the future. If you have not, take the time to look at the roadmap (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=169A2679A11A2489). The sale is but one small page in a series of chapters that will turn over the next weeks and months to come.

It’s been a really rewarding journey for myself so far. I know from the feedback that it has already been rewarding for many of the community as well!

Here is to the future.

Onward and upward,

Piers Ridyard
CEO of Radix DLT

Radix Token Sale - Day One Complete!

Radix DLT, Piers Ridyard, 10 October 2020

Hello,

The entire Radix team wants to send our appreciation for the many hundreds of you that participated in the token sale yesterday. Thank you. It was quite a success and we are pleased to say the funds received excessed the lower target funding target - however, there is still an opportunity to participate!

If you haven’t yet done so, you can go straight to the token sale portal here: https://radixtokens.com

Due to the initial surge of registrations, there was a delay in some people receiving their registration confirmation email. If you registered to purchase but did not receive your email please try resetting your account via https://radixtokens.com (re-login) and checking your spam folder. If you are still having issues, please contact us at help@radixtokens.com and let us know and we will help you through the process.

Due to the high degree of interest in the first day and having received funds exceeding the initial targets, the token sale will now be closing earlier than planned. The Radix Token Sale will now end on October 22nd 2020 at the latest. This will allow a rapid move towards the distribution of the ERC20 token and then, in 2021, to our mainnet launch.

There are some more, exciting announcements to share with you once the token sale is officially complete.

If you have not already checked it out, you can find the token sale page information here (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=171A2683A11A2496).

Thanks again to our entire Radix community,

Piers Ridyard

With such requiments and such huge raising funds I think they don't have many willing invest in project. They should reduce min allocation to 1k usd and max should be around 20k usd. And 28 mln usd hardcap is too much.

Yesterday over $8M was raised, which means that their soft cap is already reached. I believe that Radix has the tech to be very ambitious, which befits a larger hard cap. About the minimum investment of $5000 smaller investors are indeed complaining. However buying a bit later at the exchange has its advantages because you will be buying fully unlocked tokens / coins then.

They just though that big whales invest in project but seems with such conditions big investors don't want invest. And tokens will be locked for one year or how long? Where i can see live counter how much funds raised so far?

Because Radix is aiming to become a big player in the crypto space they have partnered with Altcoinomy for a rather strict KYC/AML procedure. Because such a strict procedure is costly they have raised the minimum investment amount. If it would have been feasable to lower the minimum only insiders can tell.

There is no live counter. Those being interested can ask for an update in their Telegram chat here: https://t.me/radix_dlt (Be carefull as there are also fake Radix Telegram groups). Radix did not publish the funds destination address because then people would be able to send funds without going through the KYC / AML process.

About the lockup period: Radix designed a unique price pegged unlocking schedule. The higher the price becomes the more tokens / coins will be released. Below you find the schedule. A bit more info can be found at: https://www.radixdlt.com/post/the-radix-economics-a-token-for-an-ecosystem/

Well, but such investments available only for big players. So tokens will be controlled only by whales and there will be no mass adoption. As for unlocking system: but what if price never go to 0.43$? This means that tokens will be never unlocked?

The problem that for 100% tokens unlock there should be 11x above ICO price and this should be 1.8 bln mcap. But this may not happens never. So this means that tokens will never be unlocked, not only in 2025.

Someone investing $5000 can't be called a whale. And mass adoption doesn't occur by buying tokens / coins in an ICO but rather by technology adoption.

It is true that when the price stays down the corresponding tokens stay locked. The positive side of the vesting schedule is that initial massive dumps, and corresponding price decreases, are avoided.

People investing in Radix will be people who believe in the Radix technology and vision and who have the patience / time to watch it take shape. Short term speculators will choose other types of projects.

Radix Sale Update & Liquidity Mining Rewards

Hello

I want to give you a quick update on the Radix token sale and our plans for supporting the secondary market for the XRD token.

We now have approximately one thousand participants in the Radix sale with more joining each day. We have hit our soft internal targets and have decided to end the sale Thursday, October 22nd.

We have opted not to initially list the XRD token on traditional exchanges, although we have many exchanges interested in doing so. Instead, we wanted our community to have the chance to create markets on DEFI platforms like Uniswap. To support this effort and to help create a robust secondary market between now and launch of Radix mainnet in approximately six months, we are allocating 200 Million XRD tokens to be rewarded through liquidity mining.

This means anyone who wants to participate can earn RDX tokens simply by providing liquidity or joining a liquidity mining pool. Rewards are structured so that they compound, meaning the sooner you start mining and the longer you mine, the higher proportional % of tokens you receive.

To begin liquidity mining you have to own Radix tokens. This means that participants in the sale will be at an immediate advantage as they will own tokens prior to the market opening and will not have to buy tokens on the market to participate in mining rewards. Due to our tiered-price vesting, only 1% of all purchased tokens will be released in the first week of distribution. Supply-side economics suggests this will lead to some healthy volatility in the markets in the first weeks and months, heading into our mainnet launch.

For Radix token holders volatility is good, as tokens are only released as each price tier is met.  As each price tier is met, Radix market cap increases exponentially, in a way which may garner much attention. We would like to see a market with a stable price above the highest vested price tier by the launch of the Radix mainnet.

For more information about the mining incentives please join our community discussion on Telegram (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=173A2687A11A2510) and our new Discord channel (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=173A2687A11A2511).

It seems like they are feelling that all tokens will be not sold and now going to sell them on DEX exchanges? And the fact that tokens will be not listed on good CEX exchanges like Binance don't give them more investors. Well, now I don't want to participate for sure.

Unsold tokens flow back to the Radix Foundation but can only be sold according to the price vesting schedule, which means that they cannot be sold in bulk and first have to undergo a price increase to get unlocked.

Radix and Quantstamp Partner to Bring Mass Market Security to DeFi Applications and Assets

Radix DLT, 19th October 2020

We are pleased to announce that Radix has partnered with Quantstamp (https://quantstamp.com/) to finally let DeFi developers provide their users with the kind of confidence in the security of funds at the level of traditional finance. We are bringing together Radix’s new form of secure smart contracts, called “Components” – available as a modular add-on for any Radix developer. Components that are audited by Quantstamp will be covered by Quantstamp’s Chainproof platform for market-driven smart contract insurance.

E-RADIX Liquidity Incentives

Radix DLT, 20th October 2020

On November 17th, 2020, the first E-RADIX (eXRD) tokens will be distributed. Prior to this date, tokens can only be purchased via radixtokens.com (http://radixtokens.com/). If you see tokens for sale on UniSwap or similar prior to this date, they are not genuine!

Once the sale is complete, 200,000,000 additional eXRD tokens are planned to be distributed as community liquidity rewards. The proposed details of the program can be found below, with the Liquidity Incentives due to start on the 17th of November 2020:

Less than 24 Hours to buy Radix Tokens - Don’t miss out on Liquidity Mining!

Hello,

It’s been a busy week for the Radix Token Sale team with a lot of people contributing to the token sale prior to it closing tomorrow, Oct 22nd at 18:00 UTC!

On behalf of the Radix project, let me share our gratitude to everyone who is joining the Radix movement to build the future of DeFi! This rush to get in before the sale closes has pushed the total sale contributions to over $10 million! Well over the minimum target, and giving plenty of firepower for the coming release of the Radix mainnet and beyond.

Of course, this token sale is just one step towards the bright future of Radix. There has been a lot of hard work put into preparing for the token distribution on November 17th.

If you didn’t see, Quantstamp, one of the world's leading smart contract auditing companies, is not only auditing both the token release contract and liquidity incentives contract, but also will provide developers who build Radix Components the opportunity to be covered by Quantstamps Chainproof smart contract insurance platform. You can read more about this partnership here (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=174A2688A11A2521).

Yesterday was also an exciting day, as the plans for the E-RADIX Liquidity Incentives were published here. The community liquidity incentives program will see 200,000,000 additional eXRD tokens distributed as community liquidity rewards, starting on November 17th and running for 6 months. You can find the full details of the liquidity incentives in this post (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=174A2688A11A2522), however, the basic principle is simple:

1. Purchase eXRD
2. Add both eXRD & USDC to the relevant Uniswap pool to get LP tokens
3. Stake your LP Tokens with the Liquidity Reward program and start earning some of the 200M eXRD rewards!

The community liquidity rewards provide incentives for the Radix community, people like you, the opportunity to contribute to the successful launch of eXRD tokens, and help the long term goals of distributed stake building via eXRD token distribution.

As this is a long term goal, the liquidity incentives provide more rewards the longer you stay staked in the program, with up to 6x more rewards for those who stay staked for 90 days or longer. If that sounds confusing, just remember that to get the maximum number of reward tokens, stay staked from the start until the end of the program!

Participation in the community liquidity incentives program will require you to have eXRD. As the initial supply of eXRD is very small, it is likely that the price on secondary markets such as a Uniswap pool will be extremely volatile. Therefore, purchasing tokens via https://tokens.radixdlt.com is the most reliable way to get the tokens needed to participate in the program.

If you have not yet had the chance to participate in the sale, the good news is the sale is still open! However, with less than 24 hours left and the community liquidity incentives information live, the sales platform is likely to be busy.

To avoid disappointment, if you are wanting to purchase tokens in the sale at the fixed price of $0.039, please act quickly to ensure you don’t miss the opportunity before the sale closes at 18:00 UTC on Oct 22nd. You can find all details of the sale here: https://tokens.radixdlt.com.

After the sale has closed, there will be more exciting announcements to share with the Radix community and token holders prior to distribution on the 17th November as the journey continues towards building a bigger, brighter future for DeFi.

Thanks,

Piers Ridyard
CEO of Radix DLT

Hello,

It’s been a great two weeks, and the Radix Token Sale has sold more than $11.5m tokens.

As today is the final day of the Radix Token Sale - if you haven’t already purchased tokens, please do so before 18:00 UTC tonight at radixtokens.com (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=175A2689A8A2530)

We also have a small update - if you are an Australian, we can now accept all buyer types, not just accredited buyers. If you are an Australian, thank you very much for your patience while we sorted that out, and feel free to jump right in.

Secondly, in case you missed it, the plans for the Radix Liquidity Rewards program have also been announced - you can read more about that here: https://www.radixdlt.com/post/e-radix-liquidity-incentives/

As only 1% of the total supply will be available when the token is distributed on the 17th of November, the best way of securing Radix Tokens is via the Radix Token Sale - to find out more, please see the token sale page: tokens.radixdlt.com (https://radixdltltd.acemlna.com/lt.php?s=b136aa1fecee20cd2723e8c989724fda&i=175A2689A8A2531)

Hope to see you in the Radix community soon!

All the best,

It's not true, otherwise radix token was only available for people who can afford to invest 5k or even more. It's not available for a little shrimp. I guess the ico token will not be locked for a year and it's actually less than it.
12.5 million dollars have been raised from the crowdsale. You must understand the situation that's happening with radix correctly.
What you are saying sounds like FUD.

Radix Engine V2 - Build DeFi dApps Quickly & Securely

Radix DLT, 10 Nov. 2020

Building a cutting-edge DeFi app on Ethereum using Solidity is expensive, and getting it audited can cost even more. That leaves developers today with an impossible choice - miss a market opportunity by taking the time to ensure security, or risk losing millions in assets.

Radix Engine V2 enables DeFi developers to build dApps quickly and securely, with a git-like on-ledger library of ready-to-use code that can be added to by anyone. Good for developers, and good for the DeFi community!

Radix is the only protocol that uses sharding to deliver linear scalability and it can meet the throughput needs of any number of dApps as the network grows

there were a lot projects with sharding (for example the 1st one was Zilliqa, than Quarkchain etc). But who need this TPS without usecase? There are hundreds blockchains with enough TPS but without usecase and adoption.

It's better if you are seeing more article about which platforms that used the sharding.
There are bunch of platforms that used sharding but i think that this is not your main case. I see that if you are also bumping another thread by creating more and more non sense post.

Decentralized finance, DeFi, needs more than only scalability (lots of TPS). It also needs composability. Other projects that have been using sharding to increase scalability have done so at the cost of composability. Thus the lack of usecases and adoption. The Radix approach increases scalability without breaking composability. With a decentralized ledger technology that enables both, Radix provides the infrastructure for usecases and adoption that before was lacking.

eXRD Tokens Distribution & Liquidity Incentives

Hello,

It is an exciting week as the E-RADIX (eXRD) token distribution is due to occur on November 17th. This is a major milestone for all involved, and therefore this email contains links to some useful information that will help prepare you for the eXRD distribution event.

The eXRD token distribution is due to occur between 14:00-18:00 GMT on November 17th. Official channels will be updated when the token is live.

Due to the decentralized nature of tokens, you may find other tokens that are designed to look like E-RADIX that are not authentic. Please only interact with the eXRD token linked to on official channels.

Radix Tokens (Jersey) Ltd, 17th November 2020

The E-RADIX (eXRD) token distribution is now complete! For everyone involved, this is an exciting milestone and wouldn’t be possible without the support of people like you. Thank you!

Now that there is eXRD in circulating supply, there are a few things you may find helpful:

- The eXRD contract address is: 0x6468e79a80c0eab0f9a2b574c8d5bc374af59414 (https://etherscan.io/address/0x6468e79a80c0eab0f9a2b574c8d5bc374af59414)
- Please be aware that there may be other tokens that look similar. Always ensure the above contract address.
- Some wallets will require you to add eXRD as a custom token before it will be displayed. This guide explains how to make eXRD visible in MetaMask, but a similar process can be used for other wallets.
- If you purchased tokens in the eXRD Token Sale, you will need to withdraw your unlocked tokens. Please follow the instructions here explaining how to use the unlocking vault (https://radixtokens.helpscoutdocs.com/article/50-exrd-in-metamask) (for token sale participants with price-locked tokens)
- You can swap eXRD on Uniswap. If you are new to using Uniswap, please read this guide that explains how to use Uniswap (https://radixtokens.helpscoutdocs.com/article/53-how-to-uniswap).
- You can find all pairs for eXRD on Uniswap here: https://info.uniswap.org/token/0x6468e79a80c0eab0f9a2b574c8d5bc374af59414
- The eXRD Community Liquidity Incentives program (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/e-radix-liquidity-incentives/) has started to distribute rewards. If you would like to participate in this program, where 200M eXRD are being distributed, please follow the guide here: eXRD Liquidity Mining Guide (https://radixtokens.helpscoutdocs.com/article/52-exrd-community-liquidity-incentives-guide)

With the token distribution now complete, the main telegram discussion channel (https://t.me/radix_dlt) and the Radix Discord server (https://discord.gg/WkB2USt) are fantastic places to discuss Radix with others in the community. Needless to say, there is a lot of activity there right now, so it is a great time to say hi if you haven’t done so already!

For technical support, you can also email help@radixtokens.com. Please be aware that response times may be lower than normal due to high demand in the next week.

While the token distribution is an important milestone, this is just the next step on the journey. Everyone involved with Radix is working hard on the next steps, including exciting updates on the mainnet, Radix Engine V2, and more.

ATH on Hotbit was 0.9 usd while ICO price was 0.039$. Does it means that all tokens were unlocked? As i remember they should unlock 100% of tokens when price will be 0.45$ per token, right?

At this very moment only 1% of the eXRD is unlocked. With current prices it shall be coming tuesday that the next 4% shall be unlocked (aggragating 5% in total). Next tranches are only unlocked when the price stays one week in average above the regarded threshhold.

I shall include the price vesting schedule again. As you can see we have still quite some weeks and also price increases to go before 100% will be unlocked.

Radix DeFi Developer Ecosystem - Recurring On-Ledger Incentives

Radix DLT, 25 November 2020

To build a successful DeFi developer ecosystem for the Radix Public Network, there needs to be recurring incentives to build. With Radix components, any developers can contribute to Radix's on-ledge DeFi component library and earn a direct royalty fee when a project uses their component.

Successful components build successful projects which build a successful community: that's how Radix will incentivise the next generation of DeFi!

Learn more about Radix, the first layer 1 protocol built for DeFi here: https://www.radixdlt.com

Radix provides the decentralized finance industry with a scalable, secure-by-design, composable platform with a DeFi specific build environment to make it easy to build and launch scalable DeFi products.

What is Radix?

Radix is a new decentralised platform which holds the world record in transaction speed. After 7 years of R&D it demonstrated a performance of 1.4 million transactions per second (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/scaling-dlt-to-over-1m-tps-on-google-cloud/), breaking the world record in 2019. This makes Radix...

● 17 times faster than Visa
● 35 times faster than Google
● 1,000 times faster than PayPal
● 93,000 times faster than Ethereum

With each transaction being confirmed within 1-2 seconds. Radix is the only platform to solve the 4 fundamental challenges (https://www.radixdlt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/DeFi-Whitepaper-v1.0-3.pdf) of decentralized ledgers: to achieve global scalability while maintaining security, decentralization (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/why-decentralised-public-networks-matter/) and communication across the entire platform. As such, Radix is poised to become the leading decentralized platform (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/defi-whitepaper-how-radix-is-building-the-future-of-defi/) for the global financial markets.

Reducing DeFi Hacks, Exploits & Failures on Radix

Radix DLT, 4th December 2020

DeFi applications are rapidly innovating new ways of providing more efficient, transparent, and democratic financial services. But they have also suffered an unfortunate sequence of high-profile losses of funds. Simple programming errors and programming language quirks that normally would only cause annoyance in a general application have instead created documented openings for exploits and system failures (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1908.04507.pdf). Even where there are no bugs in smart contract logic, connections between multiple complex DeFi have made it nearly impossible to design smart contract code to cover all edge cases that could be manipulated by an adversary (https://www.palkeo.com/en/projets/ethereum/bzx.html).

A more purpose-built alternative to typical smart contracts is needed before DeFi is ready for mainstream adoption. The Radix Engine and its “Component” model of development finally provides this solution for DeFi developers.

The unsold tokens were getting reverted to the foundation and it was getting locked again. It will be unlocked at the same time with the pre-mined coin that owned by the foundation. The team didn't burn the unsold token.

So far 10% of the tokens are unlocked.

And like shinratensei_ says: unsold tokens were not burned but returned to the foundation and locked.

If you think that the current price is too high it is best to leave the buying of eXRD to traders that are fine with the current price. Opinions differ on this matter.

In short: modular apps, catalogued for modular reuse, and fee per usage programmed.

2. The quoted data is based upon the Radix Tempo test in 2019 when 1.4 million transactions per second were counted. In the meantime Radix took lessons from the Tempo protocol and based upon their findings the more secure Cerberus consensus protocol was built.

The best read about the test is here:

RPN-1 Development Update: Drop 2 Complete

Radix DLT, 17th December 2020

Today the Radix team is very excited to announce the completion of a significant milestone in our open source development of the first Radix public network (code named RPN-1).

RPN-1 development is broken up into four milestones that we call “drops” (more on this in a previous post (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/sharing-our-public-network-roadmap/)). At the completion of each drop, we have a new level of functional test network that is closer to what we need for a complete and secure RPN-1 release. We’ve just completed Drop 2 of 4 – and it’s a biggie.

In this post we’d like to tell you more about what we’ve accomplished, and we will be coming back with a demo video for you very soon in January!

Okay, deep breath, let’s dive in.

Wow, Radix has really important development update - Drop 2 Complete. Also Drop 3 and 4 are planned already as I see. Drop 3 will be test also, but Drop 4 really interesting to me as after it everything should be ready for mainnet launch, so it will be final testings, right?

I wouldn't call Drop 4 a final testing but it is indeed the last milestone before mainnet.

The Radix CEO Piers Ridyard was featured in a Forbes article looking at how London could evolve from a fintech hub into a DeFi hub.

How Brexit Could Help London Evolve From A Fintech Center Into A DeFi Hub

Forbes, Billy Bambrough

London has built a reputation as a global fintech center over the last decade.

Neobanks including Monzo and Revolut have raised millions at billion dollar valuations. Transferwise and WorldRemit built world-leading cross-border payments systems.

Now, as the U.K. grapples with the realities of Brexit, its long-drawn-out and uncertain departure from the European Union, cryptocurrency developers want to help London's financial center evolve to serve a decentralized finance (DeFi) future.

Why Transferwise’s Co-Founder Backed This Blockchain Company

NewsBTC, Thomas Delahunty, 01/01/2020

[...].

How Radix Improves DeFi

DeFi has been catapulted into the mainstream this year, with decentralized exchanges like Uniswap generating some of the highest transaction fees of any blockchain platform. Decentralized finance offers an array of financial services that previously had to be regulated and run by a third party, such as exchanging financial assets, insurance, loans, and borrowing. Offering immediate transactions and services to anyone who requires them, decentralized applications have started to revolutionize the financial industry, taking power away from third parties that have traditionally acted as gatekeepers.

3 ETHEREUM ALTERNATIVES THAT BANKS SHOULD BE MONITORING

BITCOINIST, JAN 07, 2021

RADIX

A public decentralized ledger that demonstrated processing an impressive 1.4 million transactions per second, Radix is a leading contender for Ethereum’s DeFi crown. Reinforced by a next-generation consensus mechanism called Cerberus and powered by the developer-friendly Radix Engine, the layer-1 protocol is the brainchild of autodidact Dan Hughes, a British blockchain evangelist and genius coder who first experimented with Bitcoin in 2011. Indeed, Hughes was inspired by the original Bitcoin code when he started developing Radix, which recently raised $12.7 million from its first-ever token sale and exceeded its funding goal.

Solidity/EVM Compatibility for Radix?

Radix DLT, 6th January 2021

As you know if you’ve read our DeFi Whitepaper (https://www.radixdlt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/DeFi-Whitepaper-v1.0-3.pdf), Radix is taking a unique approach to smart contracts, with Components and Scrypto. These developer tools offer the same kind of power and flexibility that Ethereum does to create DeFi and other dApps, but work very differently (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/reducing-defi-hacks-exploits-failures-on-radix/) from Solidity and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).

A member of our community recently asked, “why not offer Solidity compatibility on Radix? Wouldn’t this attract developers and dApps to Radix faster than something new?” It’s a reasonable question; in fact, most of the recent Ethereum competitors are playing the compatibility game, often using not only Solidity, but more importantly the fundamental EVM-style computing model that underpins it on Ethereum.

Can Radix Propel DeFi Into the Mainstream?Angela Scott-Briggs

TechBullion, Angela Scott-Briggs, January 18, 2021

DeFi, short for decentralized finance, is a breakthrough technology that allows users around the world to access financial services without the need for oversight or involvement from a third party. DeFi applications allow users to retain the value previously absorbed by a company, government, or regulating body, such as by redistributing transaction fees back to the end user that were previously taken as third party profits. The total value locked in DeFi has risen dramatically in the last 12 months, going from less than $1 billion to almost $23 billion, but there are still problems inherent to DeFi that prevent broader adoption, not least in terms of scalability and security. This is where Radix comes in.

How Radix Is Bringing Interoperability to DeFi

The Drum, Stephen Young, 18 January 2021

Twitter Linkedin Email Facebook Facebook Messenger Whatsapp Reddit Flipboard Google Plus

twitter share button facebook share button pinterest share button
A new era of financial innovation and inclusion is upon us. While the value of bitcoin soars and institutional capital floods into the market, numerous projects have emerged offering alternatives to the walled gardens of traditional banking. These open finance protocols – variously concerned with borrowing, lending, saving, staking and trading – witnessed stupendous growth in 2020, finishing the year with over $15 billion locked into their smart contracts.

While the first phase of DeFi was a resounding success, the potential for further growth is enormous. After all, if DeFi can make good on its promises, it could deliver accessible financial services to users all over the world, transforming itself from a niche technological tool into a genuinely global industry. The number of unbanked adults currently stands at 1.7 billion. As well as having a simpler onboarding process, DeFi, as it stands, gives users far higher yields than they can expect from regular bank accounts. This will essentially unlock billions of dollars of idle capital in low-interest bank accounts and provide full ownership over the custody and utilization of funds.

What is DeFi Composability and Why Does it Matter?

Matthew Hine, 19th January 2021

We often talk about how mainstream DeFi needs a DLT platform that not only provides high scalability, but also doesn’t ruin composability (or more specifically “atomic composability”). Providing both limitless scalability and frictionless atomic composability at the same time is one of Radix’s biggest technology breakthroughs (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/breakthrough-in-consensus-theory-scaling-defi-without-breaking-composability/) that is designed to work with our unique form of secure DeFi smart contracts (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/reducing-defi-hacks-exploits-failures-on-radix/).

The importance of scalability is pretty easy to understand; it’s the ability to handle more transactions and process them quickly and cheaply. But what exactly is composability and why is it so necessary for DeFi?

A Radix Review of 2020

Radix DLT, 19th January 2021

The DeFI space grew substantially over 2020 and made history by seeing the year out with a bang by recording a colossal US$15.442 Billion in Total Locked Value. And this phenomenal amount continues to grow as we speak (https://defipulse.com/), making it a fascinating time to be in DeFi. 2020 was also an incredibly busy year for Radix with a range of new strategic partnerships secured and great strides taken to develop our ecosystem. We look back at some of the year’s highlights and if you want more information, remember there is also a great deal of information on our blog (https://www.radixdlt.com/blog), YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfF05wBFbtY), and in the three whitepapers published (https://www.radixdlt.com/#white_papers) on our website.

eXRD is now trading on Bitfinex

Radix Tokens (Jersey) Ltd, 21st January 2021

Today marks another milestone in the Radix journey, as the eXRD token has been listed on Bitfinex with USD/eXRD and BTC/eXRD trading pairs.

Trading on Bitfinex opened at 12:00 UTC on January 21st, 2021.

Click here (https://trading.bitfinex.com/t/EXRD:USD) to go directly to the eXRD pairs on Bitfinex.

Since launching the eXRD token back in November, there has been a great deal of support for the token on Uniswap (https://info.uniswap.org/pair/0x684b00a5773679f88598a19976fbeb25a68e9a5f), with over $20m of liquidity and $12m of volume in the last 7 days. The growth in market size has also been accompanied by the eXRD market cap and token price increasing, resulting in a series of supply unlocks as per the price-based unlocking mechanism (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/the-radix-economics-a-token-for-an-ecosystem/). The most recent unlock occurred on January 19th, 2021, when the 7-day simple moving average price of eXRD exceeded $0.13.

It has been fantastic to see eXRD do well on Uniswap and DeFi as a whole reaching an all-time high with over $25Bn of total value locked in the industry. However, there is still an important role played by centralised exchanges such as Bitfinex in supporting the long term health of the Radix token economy.

Bitfinex is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, consistently reaching over $1Bn in 24hr trading volume with a wide range of markets and pairs. For Radix, the BTC/eXRD pair also opens up a large new market that is not directly accessible on Ethereum only platforms like Uniswap.

As a centralised exchange, Bitfinex has a different fee structure compared to Uniswap that has benefits such as not requiring an Ethereum gas fee when making trades. As part of the Bitfinex listing, new Bitfinex accounts created using this link (https://www.bitfinex.com/?refcode=88vRidhaZ) will benefit from a 6% rebate on trading fees over the next 30 days.

The new markets and trading options provided by the Bitfinex listing is an important step forward for eXRD, and there are more discussions on-going to provide additional markets for eXRD token holders that will facilitate further token distribution ahead of the Radix Public Network launch in Q2-2021.

Thank you for your continued support of Radix, and our mission to power the future global mass adoption of decentralised financed.

Radix Report – 21st Jan

Piers Ridyard, 21st January 2021

OVERVIEW

Welcome to the first fortnightly Radix Report – a quick rundown on what has happened in the world of Radix in the last two weeks and a great way of staying up to date with the work the Radix DLT team is doing on getting the decentralised finance protocol up and running!

January is always an interesting time of year – a month where everyone starts to pick up the bits of their brain that were resting over Christmas and starts revving the engines again to get back into the race.

Radix ended 2020 with Drop 2 of the Radix Public Network (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/rpn-1-development-update-drop-2-complete/) development code, one of the single biggest deliveries of the first version of the public ledger and a key milestone in hitting our Q2 2021 mainnet target.

The first half of January has seen the development start to ramp up on Drop 3, with the dev team transitioning from just development of the core functionality to testing and hardening of the code. That doesn’t mean there isn’t still a lot to build, but it is a key point in the maturing of the codebase and moving towards a functional public network.

On the non-tech side, January has seen a lot of the groundwork covered for our first major listing, covered by Adam in the strategy section, as well as a lot of great coverage that the Radix community has been generating for the project.

We’ve also had a few great new hires since coming back after the holiday season, and so it is great to see the team back both refreshed and enlarged to take on the challenges ahead for 2021!

Development Update
From Russell Harvey, CTO & Matthew Hine, Head of Product at Radix DLT.

A few points of interest taken from the team’s resolved items list:

- We continue to refine mempool management, such as having nodes automatically reject (before consensus) atoms that are clearly invalid or are known to conflict with existing committed state.
- Node-runner clients are now able to query the delegator status of the node (is it accepting delegated stake or not) and the total stake currently delegated to it.
- Since we carried much code over from the previous Tempo-based network, we did some clean-up of the atom structure design to better reflect the way we expect REv2 to use atoms in the future.
- We continue to add to our test and monitoring infrastructure, with our internal dashboard now including monitoring of Jenkins, our faucets, and metrics exporters.

Radix Engine v2: Exploring Components and the Radix Finite State Machine

Radix DLT

Matthew Hine, Head of Product at Radix DLT, gives an overview of the Radix Engine v2 and how it is a key component in Radix’s mission to build the first Layer 1 protocol specifically designed for DeFi.

Find out how Components and the Radix Engine v2 allow developers to create a more secure, intuitive form of smart contracts for DeFi and how the Component Catalog delivers significant improvements compared to using the Ethereum solution stack.

How does the Radix Engine V2 Work

Radix DLT

In part two, Matt takes a look under the hood of the Radix Engine v2 to explore the Radix Finite State Machine and how Components built on Radix are more intuitive and easier to define in contrast to those adopting an Ethereum style approach.

Matt demonstrates precisely how intuitive this is by showing how Components can be reused, built-on to add new functionality and deployed to construct a gumball machine to serve wrestling superstar, Rowdy Roddy Piper.

DeFi is the future of finance, and Radix is the future of DeFi!

Radix launches GoodFi Alliance with Chainlink, Aave, Messari, mStable & More

Radix DLT

Radix today announced that they are launching GoodFi, a non-profit initiative alongside Aave, Chainlink, Messari, mStable & more. These members have already committed to further education, research, and best practices for the decentralised finance (DeFi) industry, helping accelerate the adoption of DeFi.

GoodFi was created with a clear mission: get 100m people to put at least $1 into DeFi by 2025. In the last year, the total value of assets in the DeFi industry increased from around $1Bn to nearly $30Bn – yet this only represents a tiny fraction of the $111Tn that is in the global financial industry.

In this episode of the DeFi Download, Piers Ridyard interviews Edan Yago and Ororo Munroe. Ororo and Edan are contributors to the Sovryn.app, a decentralised Bitcoin trading and lending platform bringing DeFi to the Bitcoin. The objective behind Sovryn’s creation was to extend the decentralised ethos of Bitcoin beyond the monetary aspect to services such as exchange.

Radix Technical AMA with Founder Dan Hughes – 2nd February 2021

Regarding the Cerberus implementation: Will contracts (state machines) have access to the quorum certificate of a command?

All state transitions require a quorum of agreement or rejection. A Quorum Certificate will be available at all validators that execute any state transitions within the atom, for all state transitions within the atom. A contract will be executing and invoking state transitions, so yes, it stands to reason that it will have access to the output certificates from those transitions.

Radix Technical AMA with Founder Dan Hughes – 2nd February 2021

A cross-shard transaction must be processed by multiple nodes at the same time. Is there a risk of starvation for a transaction involving busy shards? How are transactions in the same shard prioritized?

This is possible if there is no mechanism to provide some guard against it. The solution will likely be validators that weakly sync their mempools with other validators on shared events and use a priority queue to ensure that all validator sets process any atom in question at around the same time. This is something I’ve recently developed and is implemented in the Cassandra research platform, and it works wonderfully in situations where there is an uneven load or high latencies 😊.

Radix Report – February 18th 2021

Adam Simmons 18th February 2021

Overview

Piers Ridyard, CEO – Radix DLT

The last two weeks continue to be solidly on the bull for the crypto market, with Bitcoin sailing past the $50k mark, and more rumours about increasingly large corporates looking to follow Tesla’s lead and moving to put Bitcoin on their balance sheet.

With the increased economic stimulus via printing money both in the US and globally, the stability of fiat money continues to cause worries for corporations with large amounts of cash on their balance sheet (looking at you Apple) – and more and more evidence is emerging that the non-crypto world is starting to understand why a supra-national store of value is meaningful and important.

Closer to home, at Radix we have started the process of interviewing experienced Solidity and DeFi developers about their experiences with writing and deploying dApps. From these interviews, the Solidity security tax is hard to overstate. It is not uncommon for a team to spend around 10% of their development time writing functionality, and 90% of their time working out all the ways that functionality could have bugs, break or be attacked.

Despite this, we are still seeing the results of more and more sophisticated attacks of the type that the Yearn crew have just had to deal with across many interconnected DeFi applications.

These are not trivial problems, and writing financial applications is complex and careful work. It is precisely interviews of this nature that make me so excited about what is coming down the line for Radix over the next 12 months.

Radix DLT, 1st March 2021

The Radix DLT team is pleased to announce that we will be launching our “betanet” network on April 28th, 2021. This will mark the end of our “drop 3” internal milestone (more on our drops here), and the completion of the bulk of core Radix development intended for the first public network release by end of Q2.

Betanet is going to be an exciting and intense period of testing with the community’s help, so let’s get right into the nuts and bolts.

As developers said, betanet network will be launch 28 April 2021 year.. This is will be very big announcement... Maybe, we will see 1$ soon? I hope on it.
It's still in the beta and I don't expect this will bring a very big impact to the radix but I do believe when it comes to the main network that will be launched by radix in the future. The price is growing steadily but it's not yet getting pumped by the whales.
I have some radix token and I hope that will become a true story. Betanetwork is a good news bu that's not enough to catch the hype

I got a bad recommendation on the project today from a group
Try to see all-time chart, the price was always stagnant even there was a bunch of big updates that happened. Even the launch of radix protocol gave nothing to the price. There might be something wrong with this. Some parties consider this as a bad project as there's no volatility in this project. I would not be surprised to see people will be seeing this as bad rating investment.

I know is the result of the bad price movement over the months, since the adjustment in the tokenomics am confident the project will have good turn around.
It didn't give a lot of impacts as well. It needs more than just adjusting the tokenomic.

I strong believe accumulation is taking place in the market although they need a little few pumps before the major, this will precede a giant altseason pull that could make 20x.
Im not sure about this. There are two tokens EXRD and XRD. Both were having the same chart at this moment. I didn't even see any big signal for accumulation.

How Radix Engine is Designed to Scale dApps

In an earlier article (https://www.radixdlt.com/post/radix-engine-v2-an-asset-oriented-smart-contract-environment), I described how Scrypto is only possible with the Radix Engine’s specialized application environment and its asset-oriented features. But Radix’s roadmap to unlimited scalability is also only possible through a tight integration between Radix Engine and Cerberus (https://learn.radixdlt.com/article/what-is-cerberus), Radix’s unique massively-sharded consensus system. That tight integration is what will make Radix not just scalable in special cases, but also finally allow a world of DeFi dApps to scale without limit.

Why DeFi is the future of payments

Global payment revenues are estimated to be around $2 trillion dollars a year.

We think a large portion of this can be passed back to end users in the form of fewer fees, better service, and faster access to capital.

Radix Desktop Wallet v1.3 has been released!

Get the latest at https://wallet.radixdlt.com/ - or accept the automatic update if you're on the latest v1.2.6.

This is an important update that we strongly recommend everyone take. Details below.

This release is mostly about migrating to the new API and Gateway service under the hood. That's important because once everyone has moved to this version, we will be able to obsolete our old Archive nodes that were severely limiting our ability to scale to peak demand, causing periodic problems with not being able to connect. Use of the Gateway service also resolves some spotty issues a few people were having with balances being shown incorrectly or inconsistently.

Features:

* Seed phrases can now be 12, 18, or 24 words. For the more security-conscious, you may wish to create a new wallet using a longer seed phrase. (It is not possible to upgrade an existing address to one using a different seed phrase.)

* You can now hide tokens you aren't interested in. These tokens will no longer appear on your balances screen and shall upset you no further. If you change your mind, you can unhide a token in the wallet's settings.

* A warning is now presented whenever sending or staking of XRD would drop your balance below 10 XRD. This is to help prevent the "oops" situation of not having sufficient XRD to pay for further transactions.

Fixes:
* Error messages are much improved overall. This is a direct consequence of the new API and hopefully should provide a more clear idea why a transaction wasn't possible.

* When connecting to a custom Gateway node, the wallet now offers a clear warning that you must trust the Gateway to not present you with bogus transactions. This is a very important bit of information that we communicated socially when we first added custom archive node capability to the wallet, but we overlooked adding a clear warning in the wallet itself. Thanks to community member @devmannic for pointing out the lack of this warning message.

* More information about staking and unstaking status is shown in your list of validators. In particular, we now show "pending stake" for stake that is awaiting the end of the epoch to take effect - and thus cannot yet be requested to be unstaked.

* A validator that is not currently in the top-100 now presents a visible warning, indicating that it is not currently producing emissions XRD for you.

* Password fields now show if you're typing a password with caps lock set.

* Improved handling when a hardware wallet is disconnected during usage.

* Wallet now remembers the last account that you had selected when you last quit.
