Title: BEWARE COINSWITCH WILL SCAM YOU! Post by: LR1 on August 24, 2020, 04:24:53 PM What happened::
on July 30 2020 I made a transaction with Coinswitch after reading several good trustpilot reviews. the transaction was 459770.0964 AMB for 0.1248 BTC over 1400 usd. I noticed after a while that the app still said awaiting deposit. I reached out to customer service about the issue and provided the agent with all of the information that he requested and even more order number, addresses, pictures, etc. proving that the transaction had been completed on my end. After over an hour of waiting and terrible customer service. the only thing I was told was to contact my wallet provider. This is unacceptable! especially when proof of funding is provided. After a few more hours I contacted another agent and actually told them the solution to the technical issue I was having. I was rudely told to start a ticket. I started the ticket and provided the proper information (I'm sure the information was correct because I had the exact same deposit issue with Binance and it was solved in one day) And now I have a pending status. I reached out to coinswitch once again for an update and I've gotten no response. Lots of work is needed for even a one star review. I literally did all of the work for them as far as resolving the issue and I still don't have my money. Don't do business with these guys! Update: It has been almost 30 days and i still have not gotten a refund and it appears that i have been blocked from telegram and email as well. Do not do business with these people. If they can't be converted to BTC then that's ok. Just let me know what type of address you need to send the AMB to and I'll gladly accommodate. I last spoke with this guy from support just more of the same BS Sharan Nair , [23.08.20 06:02] I still have not received my refund Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 06:04] Let me look it up laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 06:04] Ok laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 06:29] Well did you look it up? Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 06:31] Hey man i did look Up Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 06:31] Its a delay on our end Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 06:32] Our tech lead needs to pull it out and he hasn’t done it yet Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 06:32] I will get it done laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 06:32] Any idea of when he will do it? Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 06:33] I just spoke to him laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 06:33] Ok well hopefully soon laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:33] So I see no progress has been made today either. I guess we'll be doing this circle talk forever 😂 Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:33] Hey do not mind but it is a mistake on your end so kindly bear with us Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:34] Its not like we want to delay it or anythjnh but we run a pretty big exchange which requires a lot of other attention as well laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:38] I guess it would suck to be a month behind at work. Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:39] Laurence i really do understand your concern.. its been a month your money is with us laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:39] But hey I lost my job due to this virus so I have nothing but time to persue my money 😂 Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:40] And kindly understand its not like we are being lazy.. its just that.. something like taking the private key requires our CTO to do it and that is why the delay Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:40] I would be equally frustrated if i was in your place laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:41] No I don't think you're lazy at all Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:41] I will push harder to get it done faster Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:41] Btw can you tell me what was the dollar value of your coins laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:42] Brb let me check explorer Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:42] Give me a rough approx Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:42] Dont need exact laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:43] [ Photo ] laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:43] $1423 Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:43] Cool laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:44] If it was less I wouldn't care laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:45] But unfortunately that has to last me until I get a job. Or die of this stupid virus. Which is highly likely here in the US 😂 Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 11:46] To be honest, we generally look at less or more because what might be a less amount to us might be more for the customer laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:48] That's understandable laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 11:49] I went through the same thing before. I should have just left the AMB in Kucoin laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 12:41] Has anyone ever gotten a refund from failed mainnet transaction? Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 13:04] Yes a lot of people make that mistake Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 13:04] They do get a refund almost within 2-3 days Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 13:05] The delay with you has mostly been because of the CTOs unavailability laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 13:06] Oh must be bad luck I guess Sharan Nair, [23.08.20 13:06] I will try to get it done faster laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 13:07] Ok maybe he will return to do it laurence Richardson, [23.08.20 22:46] I received an email requesting my mainnet address for return. I'm not sure when they will get it so I'll give it to you too. 0xba45ee009bf7a847538b5335054f540d14b4d80e laurence Richardson, [24.08.20 09:23] Almost got me! I thought I was actually about to be getting my refund. Oh well back to square one. Additional Notes: Avoid these people at all cost!!! Title: Re: BEWARE COINSWITCH WILL SCAM YOU! Title: Re: BEWARE COINSWITCH WILL SCAM YOU! Post by: The Sceptical Chymist on August 24, 2020, 04:54:53 PM This is the second scam accusation I've seen against coinswitch in the past week or so, and my guess is that there's something fishy going on there. Does coinswitch have an account on the forum? I didn't find a link in the last thread I looked at. Tagging them probably wouldn't help anyone get their funds back, but at least it would be a warning.
I do still have a Coinomi wallet (though I don't use it anymore) and I have noticed that they're affiliated in some way with coinswitch, as there's an option for instant trades within the wallet, with Changelly and Totle Swap (whatever the hell that is) as well. Coinomi ought to think twice about offering swaps through coinswitch, because it does look like these are legitimate scams and they're not for small amounts either. Sorry for your experience with these jokers, OP. I had a problem with Changelly a while back and I know how frustrating it is trying to deal with companies that you really don't know that much about. Title: Re: BEWARE COINSWITCH WILL SCAM YOU! Post by: JeromeTash on August 24, 2020, 08:32:49 PM I remember using them last early last year. They started out well but after gaining trust from people it looks like they decided to pull of an exit scam.
They have been so many complaints about them in the forum and on trust pilot lately, and they are really a big disappointment. So sorry OP. Title: Re: BEWARE COINSWITCH WILL SCAM YOU! I did one good transaction with them a year or so ago. But i would not do business with them now. Honestly the whole country of India is blacklisted to me at this point. Honestly the whole country of India is blacklisted to me at this point. Personally i think you should take more time before select another platform for your need. Feeling really bad after hearing about your loss and i know our condolences will not gonna give you much relief in current situation. I think you forgot to add their website link on your main topic although you described everything nicely. I have seen another accusation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5269679.0) recently which is about "Coinswitch". Just checked their official account and its inactive from last April, 2019. Thanks for notifying us about their recent activity and don't forget to give update here if they make further responses from their end. |
