Title: what is the current status of the user?
Post by: examplens on August 25, 2020, 09:42:31 AM
One user bumped ANN thread of Las Vegas coin, so I noticed something that confused me.
User vegasguy (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=344765) (actuator of this coin) seems like inactive about a few months, but he did not write a single post for more than a year.
When I check his profile, he is inactive.

But when I check on Loyce's stats (https://loyce.club/trust/2020-08-22_Sat_05.07h/344765.html), it seems he is banned

So, what is correct here? If he is banned, where I can find a reason why it's happened?
Also if this user is banned, what is the procedure to lock his ANN thread, which now serves only to spammers shill for his other projects. He has abandoned this coin (as far as I know he is the only one from devs side), I don't think they will come back to recover it. even if he comes, let him start from the beginning.

That's not an official forum notification, it's probably coming from the BPIP Extension (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224821.0).

Both BPIP and loyce.club have to do with the data we can find. I wish there was an official dump of banned profiles.
I've had this user marked as Autobanned on July 20, 2019. I don't have older records, so I can't find back when he got banned. If he isn't banned, all he has to do is make a post, and I'll remove him from my list.

Most of the time the reason isn't public.

You can just report the topic, explain that OP is banned and the thread is only used by spammers.

Update:
The account isn't currently banned.
Thanks, I've removed him from my list (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5092983.0). My Trust list viewer will be updated on Saturday.

Makes you wonder if it would be useful to actually have that information on the persons profile page without needed the BPIP extension or anything else.
Sometimes people just go offline or leave the forum for a while. Knowing if they are banned or just inactive might help now and then.

Even if it's not to waste time PMing them and waiting for a reply that will never come.

This feature is only available for users with extended privileges. So Staff + Admin.
I think this will not change in the future.
If there are any questions about a specific user like here in the thread, I'm sure you'll find someone who will be willing to answer them quickly.
A general change probably won't happen that fast. So this only as an offer from my side :)
