Title: Deleted Thread Archived ?
Post by: FIFA worldcup on August 30, 2020, 02:01:40 AM
Sometimes the whole thread is deleted and all our posts in it are also deleted in it. We get no message in our inbox that our posts are deleted but we can see that our post count gets reduced.
Is there any archive for the deleted thread or are we able to see our posts which we made in those threads ?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: you can see the last 100 posts you either posted or previewed by going to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts.

You'll need to have some idea of what you posted, or if you quoted someone then the thread number might be handy to use a browsers but in "find" function.

LoyceV has a tool for deleted or archive posts/thread/topic you can check it here  LoyceV's Topic Details: highlight deleted and edited posts (forum wide) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5256854.0)

Quote
Get a topicID you want to see, for instance 5145594.
Insert the topicID into the following link and post it on any public board on Bitcointalk: https://loyce.club/archive/details/topic_5145594.html
Wait a bit, then click the link!

If you use Telegram, you can use my bot: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248878.0)

You can choose to get notified when a topic you posted on gets thrased (shows up on the forum modlog). Just /start, do the initial setup, go to Notifications and "enable modlogs".

Example:

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/05/14/blob58d1115ab8b678ef.png

Then, you can look for it on Loyce's archive or use my post archive (http://posts.ninjastic.space/) (you can search for posts made by you in X topic). The new version of the website will be released soon. :)

For example, my posts made in this thread: https://posts.ninjastic.space/?author=TryNinja&topic=5272326

Only admins and staffs have access to deleted posts and threads (they have Trash Can). You have three approaches to find out your deleted posts or threads:
  • Officially on the forum: By creating a thread in Meta board and ask for help from admins or staffs. Mostly your posts or threads are deleted because they are zero- or low-valued. From such reasons, the odds for you to get answers from admins or staffs are too low. The odds for mistakes when admins/  staffs solve reports are extremely low.
  • Draft page (on the forum): it is limited to last 100 saved posts in the draft page for your account. Your posts/ threads will be saved in draft page after you clicked on Post or Preview. Therefore it means the page saves your last 100 posted- or previewed-posts. Then it can be a data for your last 100 posts or only 50 posts with 2 versions for each of your last 50 posts. Depends on how you click on Post and/ or Preview button.
  • Use third-party tools: from loyce.club or TryNinja's bot. You have to dig and find out your data but this way you won't have to rely on admin/ staff's responses.

Thanks everyone for the detail explanations.   :)
Actually sometimes we post in a thread or there is some useful information by other members too in the thread but the since starter of the thread (OP Post) is not up to certain standard and is deleted and hence all the posts in the thread get deleted.

Thats a real unfortunate actually. However no matter quality the response on a certain thread, its a practice that once an OP thread is deleted due to lack of substantial important post then it goes directly to the trashcan, which include all the post of other users. So its a good practice before any user to respond to the topic, is think if the idea or subject is already redundant or low one, if its then dont reply at all cause chance that the thread could be deleted is high.

Always scout a new post that are pretty interesting and worth giving a shot to comment on.
