Title: Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps Post by: dothebeats on September 05, 2020, 09:57:25 AM It's always best to check documentation and the sources kung totoo bang legitimate ang isang link o hindi. Madalas kasi sa mga mobile wallet applications e nakakadali lamang pag outside Playstore or Appstore yung download source. Meron ding mga gumagaya ng ibang legitimate websites para makakuha ng downloads and the next thing you know, hindi na pala sayo yung funds mo dahil na-sweep na yung private key. This has been going on for years pero it's good to bring this topic up every now and then para na rin sa kaalaman ng iba pa nating mga kababayan na nagsisimula o bago-bago pa lang sa mundo ng cryptocurrency.
Title: Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps Post by: blockman on September 05, 2020, 11:01:14 AM I-verify lagi ang sources.
Title: Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps Post by: Rosilito on September 05, 2020, 11:08:37 AM - Nah, it doesn't guarantee the entirety ng legitimacy ng isang wallet. Well good factor na rin sa mga dapat tingnan pero there is something more into it pa. Just so you know, rating and reviews can be manipulated by them rin. So don't even dare to download an app merely basing with these categories. Since 'bout wallet rin naman then try to look na lang or ask na lang for opinion/reviews dito sa forum, mas transparent pa.Good Practice To Avoid Installing Fake Wallet Apps (as mentioned in the link below)

No need na makita mo pa yung # of downloads ng app or ratings nito.

By the looks of it, mukhang madaling ipeke ang installs at ratings ng mga apps sa Google PlayStore, dahil marami rami ring phishing apps ang meron sa PlayStore na may maraming downloads at positive ratings. Better check sa official website ng apps. So far yung mga nasa listahan mo ang masasabi ko lang na pwedeng gamitin ng mga users ay ang pagbabasa ng reviews kasi kahit ang number of downloads as well as user rating can easily be padded by fake numbers and fake ratings, sometimes high ratings aren't even achieved by official apps Coinbase for example only has 3.7 stars (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinbase.android&hl=en) for their app. Even reviews can be faked by these scammers just to fool people pero ang kagandahan sa reviews ay makikita mo yung mga reklamo ng mga nai-scam na tao sa pag-download nito. When it comes to downloading apps in either apps store I recommend you to always look the name of the developer or either go to the website of that app/service and look for their app store links through their para mas segurado kayo na official app nga ang inyong ida-download. Title: Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps Post by: maxreish on September 10, 2020, 04:50:10 AM Doon lang tayo mag download sa mga licensed and legit downloading stores or websites.
Stay safe kabayans.

Title: Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps Post by: plvbob0070 on September 14, 2020, 09:56:56 AM Maraming apps sa Play Store ang nagcontain ng malicious software, kung kaya’t dapat natin alamin kung ano yung dapat nating isaalang-alang bago mag-download ng isang app.

First things first, bakit nakakalampas ito sa google? I really don't know. Isa pa yung mga advertisement, hindi lahat ng inaadvertise nila is legit may mga nakakalusot din na scams and even websites. From time to time ako nag checheck ng application permission especially pag may bagong download ako na app, I always make sure na above the surface lang sila through my phone or pc. Isa itong malware app na once downloaded sa phone mo ay hindi mo na sya madedelete (now it can be deleted with this method (https://www.zdnet.com/article/theres-finally-a-way-to-remove-xhelper-the-unremovable-android-malware/)).
