Hello,

I registered on 21, Nov 2019. I registered since I got aware that such a forum exists and i wanted to be a part of the community, also I had a question or two to ask ;) at that time which without registering wouldn't be possible to do. I was viewing as a guest for a long time.

Like everyone, I started as a newbie, managed to get a merit or two here and there and eventually rank up to junior member. As time passed by and as my activity and merit increased I made it to the member rank where I am currently sitting now. It was hell of a roller coaster ride.

Not everyone has same skill sets or knowledge to provide useful information or feedback when requested by users in different scenarios, I know many of the new members might feel the same.

What I learnt was, in order to contribute, you first have to be able to know about the subject, if you do, everything else is a cakewalk.

Have you been on the forum for a long time ? But haven't been able to manage to get any merits or rank up? Don't be discouraged. There is always time to grow and room to learn new things.

Many people have helped me in ranking up, getting merit is not dependent of chance but choice. If someone finds you or your posts interesting and appealing, they will reward you regardless, the community is very good hearted and welcomes everything that others offer to them.

If you feel left out, feel that you have made some good posts but haven't been appreciated, feel there is something that you have contributed and haven't been able to get attention, don't worry. Post here if you meet the below criteria I will see to my best that you recieve a reward for it.

Man, you just have earned 38 merits which mean you have 19 smerit at maximum if you haven't spent any yet. If you don't have enough time to share this smerit, I recommend you to check this thread and spent your smerit on couple of high quality posts shared there- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5093271.0

Make that 19 minus 10 which is 9 smerit according to the OP not worth starting a merit giveaway thread, although I appreciate the effort/intention. I suggest OP check the thread on the reply above and see who deserves his merit, and/or can self search for posts where the 9smerits or more can be spent .

I think it would be much more beneficial for you to pick your own post that you think deserves merit . You can’t expect the OP to go through all your posts ! The OP is trying to help some members and you are coming across a little bit lazy, please read the OPs rules.  My 2 sats anyway.

In fact, no merit limit should be given only for ranking option like the OP did. Merit should be awarded to a quality post regardless of who did it and what rank it has. But I am not saying the OP is guilty of this because you have the right to issue sMerit to whomever you want as you say in the thread.

It is highly recommended to help both newbie and low ranking member get merit because if they have good quality post then they deserve the ranking. Newbie and low ranking member should be welcomed and directed so that they can set their own path to reach the goal. Hopefully you can distribute in a proper post.

Conrats to creator of OP for having the mindset of boosting others. It's very helpful that you think this way for it is when you give, that you receive but then, it's based on the bases of quality posts, either as contents or comments.
You know, the forum is quite easy to coexist with it's rules while aiming and reaching your goals at with every step you take. That's why I agree with you that, for one to be clearly contributive to the forum, youve got to have some knowledge of the topic you intend to comment under. As a unique individual, so is your comments unique to you. Just say it the way you know it. Don't be discouraged by other users views so long as your sure to be in line with the topic of discussion.

Can't say I'm not doing well any way and this is more like a comment in contrast to content posts but, I still want to drop it.

Did some post make to your qualifications? I was not seeing merits actually being given to the participants.

Anyway, I will bump your thread so that it will be visible and perhaps more users will join this merit give away. I do hope you can help and select the best posts you want to give merits. This is my little way of helping you OP and hope it will reach to other users that somehow want to change posting habits by getting some motivations.

You were so kind OP starting a giveaway threads knowing that you too had only few merits in your account. Anyway I wish you thes best and good luck in looking for users to be merited with your merit giveaway thread.

It's a welcomed development to giveaway smerit to newbies, it will encourage beginners who wants to slid back to keep adding more efforts in the community,
