Title: Any Alternatives?
Post by: cabalism13 on September 11, 2020, 08:59:42 PM
From what I know this auto translate uses Google Translate right? And it sucks actually, I was reading a thread that's on the Indonesian Language because my name was mentioned there and out of my curiosity I came to visit them but after I used auto yranslate, man, I really don't know what to say.

Anyways Congrats again to the new legends.

Afaik with online translators there are 2 main problems:
Interfamily translation is hard to do
Spelling mistakes arent normally translated.

There are families like germanic languages (brittonic and nordic languages with German and Dutch are an example of one's in the same family) these are often easy to translate into the other as there isn't too much complex about the word ordering between them.

But trying to go from Indonesia to a britonnic language is going to be difficult for the translator to handle, you might be better off asking someone to translate for you.

Jesus, I can't tell what language any of that is trying to be.  This looks like a poem (albeit one I don't understand):

OP, did you send any "merit bombs" to Indonesian members?  It sounds like they're grateful for that, which I'm assuming is a large merit grant given to a member.  But damned if I can decipher what's really being said.

Edit:
I assuming it was around 20 merits such as he did recently to one of best change sign camp participant
Lol, I probably should have checked OP's merit history before asking my question.  Oops.

Maybe it is the best solution for OP, furthermore according to the language they are used is informal language. I don't think any translation tools would help OP much on it.

Well I do remember giving taufik a number of Merits so he can rank up, for I have seen his usernae on DdmrDdmr's thread. but I don't remember giving them Bombs 😂

Afaik, Google is the best tool for auto translating at the moment and also it supports more languages than others but which is even sucks and that is because of informal sentences. So we should contact someone personally and ask for there literal meaning of it if you wish.

Automatic translation from Google in any case requires corrections. Relying on it unconditionally is a bad idea. Sometimes, such a translation can distort the essence of what is said and turn it 180 degrees. This option works well for translating short phrases.

@cabalism: I can help translate some for you:

Quote
Selamat buat taufik123 sudah up Rank Legendary.
Kemarin kayaknya masih 980 merit, tapi dilihat dari history Meri yang didapat. Di bom merit sama cabalism13 dan langsung Auto Legendary.
Menyusul Ryzadit dan abhiseshakana.

Congrats to taufik123 as he's ranked up to Legendary.
I thought yesterday he still had 980 Merits, but seen from his Merit history. Merit "bombed" by cabalism13 and automatically (ranked up) to Legendary.
Followed Ryzadit and abhiseshakana (perhaps both usernames also went thru the same experience previously).

EDIT: Which auto-translate browser do you use? I've yet to use one that has it built-in.

The post above is the only alternative to get an accurate translation on other language. You can PM a Establish local member to do the translation job for you to get a neat translation and to convey properly you’re real message in there respective language. Online translation produce a very messy output in any language because the native slang language is very hard to define in other language.

True that.

But I understand some Indonesian since it shares similarities to my local language.
