Title: Data usage for an Ant
Post by: dulac97 on March 23, 2014, 02:06:11 PM
Wondering how much data an Antminer running at 180 - 200 GH/s would use in a given month.
Reason I ask is that FreedomPop wireless internet spot gives 500 mb/month of free data, though charges for everything above that.
I would be able to run an Ant at a location that doesn't have Wifi or ethernet.
Anybody have any idea of monthly data usage for an Ant?

If you run Stratum (Ants do) and set your pool difficulty at 128 or 256 it's not high at all, I'm sure well under your limits.

like the previous poster said set the difficulty of the worker somewhat high. the higher the less times it transmits and the less data usage there is. I would say 256-512 is a fair range. Do not set it higher than 512 since it will give you shares too slowly. Mining is more about consistency in your connection than data usage
