Title: Automated Trading Challenge - Profit at $1,188.91 - Profit 36.5715% - 2 Months
Post by: crwth on September 14, 2020, 03:28:13 PM
It has been a while that I have done this again. This is my old topic about Trading Challenge (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210265). I believe that it's the strategy that I'm using for the exchange, BitMex, is not effective during that time. So now I'm going to try this again with a different exchange with a different strategy.

Now, for this challenge, I'm trading now in Binance Futures I started with $2000

I am now using a different trading strategy from before and it is Market Maker Strategy with Gunbot Ultimate (https://gunbot.ph)

I started a week ago and I made sure that everything is air-tight with the settings.

As of February 10, 2021

Start Date: December 10, 2020
Start Capital: $2000.7
Days of running: 60 Days
Total Invested Capital: $2,509.364164
Current Balance: $3,325.737460
Profit: 1,188.91 USDT
Profit %:+36.5715%

This is possible because of Gunthar and https://gunthy.org. If you guys are interested in this type of tool for trading, don't hesitate to message me for more information. I would be willing to help you guys out.

*Disclaimer: Futures trading is dangerous and you could get rekt easily if you have done it incorrectly. Make sure to strategize and know how you are going to trade and make sure you implement it.

Good start!

Few questions:
1. May I ask what your target profit is here?
2. Are you planning to set up a pool for community trading too?
3. Will you be sticking to Binance for this particular trading challenge?

A couple of months back, I saw a trader's story (not here) turn it's $1,000 into $100,000 in 3 months, if I remember correctly, from playing in crypto and in stocks. It could be true of just made up because the strategy and the account/s wasn't made public.

I saw some stuff like that before as well, they normally end up getting rekt.. I saw a guy who, using Robinhood, went from $5 to $700k and then went back down to $40... Futures trading is risky.

@crwth I've always considered gunboat but never managed to work out how reliable it was for a good trading strategy. Licences seem quite cheap though but even the best trading strategy can liquidate everything in futures trading with a big crash(l (normally because ethe exchange can't process stuff in time). Are you able to set a risk tolerance so it only trades 25% of funds at a max of 25x for example?

#ProofofTrade or it didnt happen. Using API keys allows us to broadcast trades directly from the exchange, in real-time, using messaging apps. tokenbot.com

I'm planning to make it until I don't get rekt. I'm thinking of it as a compounding balance, and every profit is reinvested. As long as I can.

2. Are you planning to set up a pool for community trading too?
I would want to but probably not right away. I want to be sure that funds are safe as well. It's going to be quite tricky. Trading Futures is risky, and you could get liquidated.

3. Will you be sticking to Binance for this particular trading challenge?
Yes. I would be sticking to Binance Futures for the foreseeable "future" (get it? Lol)

That's a fantastic story, though. I hope that could happen to me. Let's see my progress in the future.

It's a good investment, especially if you have a trading strategy that you want to automate. With all the various indicators and capabilities of Gunbot, it can surely accommodate whatever you need when it comes to trading. The community is open to suggestions as well if you need a specific indicator or feature that would improve trading.

You could set 25% of your capital as your TRADING_LIMIT. So for every trade, it would use 25%. For the leverage side, it's on the exchange side, so you set it manually. For other exchanges like Bitmex, you would include Leverage as a function. Almost everything can be automated like the addition of pairs with a specific volume etc. It can be done. I would be happy to assist you if ever you are interested.

Updated First post

As of September 16, 2020, these are my current positions shown in Gunbot GUI

https://i.imgur.com/LDIhkrr.png

https://i.imgur.com/Vf1uthM.png

USDT-VET

-121.02% ROE
Leverage 20x

USDT-ADA

-73.66%
Leverage 25x

This would be DCA'd soon once it reached a certain point automatically and the position is far away from the liquidation price. Gunbot is controlling the amount of invested in the certain pair and is considering all the pairs that you have included.

I have updated the OP and the second post with a summarized table for the balances that were added. This is to take advantage of the compounding interest that would be beneficial if you continue to profit.

Great profits from past days. Hopefully it continues.

What do you mean share? Like in Telegram groups or something? I'm not interested right now with that.

I have updated the OP. The market has stalled and it seems that the positions that I have right now is not ideal. But still, there's stop-loss in place when a certain amount of capital is reached. Hopefully, it pumps in the coming days. When Resistance 2 breaks, I believe we will be in bullish form again. Hoping to get out of this position soon.

Last time you did it, it didn't turn out well for gunbot itself, you are a known reseller so we all know you are doing this to make money obviously but also to sell bots as well when people ask you where they can get it but are you sure this is the way?

Also we should see the market maker price as well, as far as I know there are different stuff in gunbot, like gunbot regular and arbitrage bot and now this market maker, we all need to know the prices of these. Plus we should know about the gunthy token given out to these people as well, to see the bottom.

Long story short, bot is good because it is doing what you tell it to do but if you are an idiot who doesn't know how trading works, you are going to use bot the wrong way and lose money, if you are smart and know how to trade, you are going to use the bot and make a big profit, it all depends on the user of the bot.

Why didn't it turn out well for Gunbot? The strategy itself didn't work with the market, so adjustments have been made and a different method. Sure this is the way of what? Selling? I'm not in the Services section and this is not the thread to sell. It's for discussion, that's it. If someone is interested then good for him, I will help him understand what he can do with Gunbot but that's just a bonus. The purpose of this thread is to share results, it it doesn't turn out good, fine. But if it did, it's better but no one is forcing anyone to do here.

This is not a marketplace board and this topic is not for selling. That's why there are no prices. If you are interested, you could PM me. You could check it on the site as well. https://gunbot.ph

It is good that you know that. It all boils down to the user and the market situation.

Good luck to you. I keep telling people also that trading bots are not guaranteed profit, all that trading bots are is scripts that execute what the trader tells it to,,, automatically. If the bot can do it well and fast, it is a good bot. Profit does not say what the bot does. So has gunbot executed well on Binance Futures?

Have never used any automated tool for trading purpose. I always have considered such automared tool as risky. How do it really work? What's the exact risk with such automated bot?
It seems your ROI is very promisable this time although you couldn't make profit last time. Inresting.

There shouldn't be a guarantee in any bot because it makes false promises. It's all about the timing of the trades and making sure that you have the optimal settings. For the execution of trades of Gunbot, it's doing its job.

It could be an ideal asset, especially if you trade a lot. I don't know how it could make yourself risky because it depends on what you instruct with it. There are many trading strategies that you could input on it, and depending on the market you are entering, spot market, futures, margins, etc., it varies that risk. It's always based on what you set on it, not the bot itself. So if you get rekt, it's your fault as well.

The bot breaks down and will not execute trades that it has been instructed to do. crwth didn't mention that maybe because gunbot is reputable.

The bot breaks down how? What do you mean? Do you think it stops by itself? It has been tested continuously, and if there are bugs to report, it's relatively easy, and it will be fixed right away, and you could easily update it. If there are configuration errors, you could always reinstall it. Besides, there's an automatic backup for your configuration on your setup. I didn't think to mention it because I didn't experience it with this setup.

Bots go down all the time. It doesnt even have to be the bots fault. Exchange websockets have gone done before, or even intermittent. How did you keep your bot trading when that happened?

I didn't say that the exchanges websockets and API access don't go down. Of course the bot cannot continue to process orders if the connection to the exchange is down but it still cycles, meaning it could connect again once the connections are up again. No need to do anything on it.

The word that he used is "breaks" down, indicating that the bot is broken. That's why I'm asking "how"

I don't know man as I said above I have never tried eith such bots. To be honest I'm not a kind of regular traders because for a number of reasons, I don't depend on TA at all in case of cryptocurrency trading although they are quite profitable. Anyway, would love to test it soon. Will PM you once I plan on that.

First of all I would like to say I like gunbot, it is not a bad bot compared to others, so I am not here to say anything bad about the bot. But to be perfectly honest with you, this is a marketing move and you are here to sell and that is the truth. You can keep calling it "experiment" and whatever and say "nobody forces anyone to buy anything" but the "idea" is selling more.

The main idea is, you will publish results, it will be awesome, everyone will see how much you made, they will want one too, and since you are an official reseller you are going to sell them gunthars bot and make a ton of money. That is the "dream" for this topic, it is not to just show your results and that is it.

If you are so honest about it being just an experiment and showing results, at least be honest and not share your own website and share gunthars OG website, it is gunthy.org and not something else.

Apologies, I didn't see this until now.

Thanks for the response, is there any chance you could pm me how much licensing normally costs if you know? I'll probably have a look in a few weeks once I can determine if my current strategy would work with automation.

I have manual bots trading moving patterns, I'd like something to trade the continuation gaps in between (and potentially breakouts missed by the manual traders too).

I took Pffrt's question as referring to trading bots in general and not specifically Gunbot. I don't think all trading bots are tested as rigorously as others so there's always that risk of bugs and other errors from the developers end. Not all trading bots have the same level of support when issues occur. The risk may be minimal but it's still there.

I'm following this thread since you are creating this and now I'm starting curious how does trading automated bot will work.

I guess this is good if you cant focus the market well, the whole thing I know with the bot is to execute your command with perfect timing, therefore, it is all matters to you how will you set up the bot. If you're lack TA the bot will I guess will not work properly and gain profit as you were expected.

I'd say, good luck with this. I'm still watching your update and I hope I saw progress before I will be using a bot and as what you've said, don't be shy to approach you.

Sorry that it took quite a while to update this but I stopped the bot and withdrew the funds because of an unforeseen event IRL. I really needed the money for personal reasons. I thank you all for the support but for now I stopped it because of funding reasons. I will continue this again when I have enough capital again.

I understand and there are still a lot to cover but it's all in the traders hands as well on how they will let the bot handle their trading.

This is my current position with my Gunbot. Check the image below.

https://i.imgur.com/zsWKEeP.png

I'm using 8 pairs, and all the trading limit is a small position, so pretty far away from the liquidation price.

Can anyone suggest pairs that might be profitable? I'm going to change pairs in the coming days if the results are not that great.

So what was the final result of the earlier experiment before you withdrew? It would be great if you make a chart of monthly results so people can also judge the max drawdown vs your expected and realized profits...

As for this current version, the first 3 pairs you picked are more suitable to high frequency algorithmic trading than Polka Dot (actually this might be ok, it needs more time) and Monero, good luck

It was around $1430. Unfortunately, I cannot create a monthly result if it was short in time. Maybe I would get it with the experiment now, knowing that this is for the long run now. This has funds to be spent.

I guess, the bag that I have right now is with XMR. What pairs do you think are better?

I'm really quite concerned with my position on XMR, hopefully, there would be a big dump with that pair. It's quite far with the liquidation price and my cost averaging is put to a hault due to the max DCA that I had. Let's see in the following days.

The result so far is quite good with a couple of dollars in gain. We are keeping it in a safe and conservative way of trading.

After a couple of days, 1.7662% of change is better than rekt for sure. It's definitely not bad for a conservative approach to a strategy.

The average trading limit (invested amount per trade) is around $10 per pair. Depending on my current position, the amount of trading limit is varied for the DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) strategy to make sure you don't go out too much on a certain pair.

The position for XMR is getting closer to the average price that I bought; maybe in a couple of days, it could go down in price even further. Hopefully, we could get out of this position soon, and I will probably change this pair for a more profitable one. I'm still currently looking into that.

Below are my positions at this moment.

Currently running at a great state. Hopefully, this continues overtime and longer. This feels like the right strategy to profit and stay in trading for a long time. We will never know.

With the recent ATH by BTC, it has caused altcoins to be affected in a way, and there are still no bears winning the price action. Hoping in the next coming weeks, some of the altcoins, *ahem* XMR, to make a bearish trend so that I could remove that pair and change it for another, lol.

My current bag - XMR

My bot stopped DCA'ing the pair because the pair actually hit the liquidation limit that I set in the bot. I could just HODL that bag for a while and hope that it goes down to my average entry price. Essentially, still profitable but with this bag.

I have this feeling that I want to rush the process. I want to be greedy and make more possible profits but once I felt that, I know I shouldn't be. I don't want to let my emotion of greed get the best of me. The current setup is working, an average of $8/day is really not that bad. Hopefully, in the long run, it continues. I just can't wait for what the outcome could be.

I still have the XMR bag, I hope the price would go down soon. I have the necessary settings in the bot already so I don't have to worry so much.

Below is XMR chart in 5 min. Hopefully, it goes down continuously.

Here is a breakdown of how many profits I had with the different pairs that I have in my account in Binance Futures. It is showed below in the right chart.

The lowest profit that I have is XMR, so I hope it goes down and let me change that pair to get a more profitable one.

https://i.imgur.com/5lUACqP.png

USDT-COMP, USDT-ADA, and USDT-VET are the best-winning pairs currently. Maybe the criteria that I have there are replicated in other pairs. Any ideas anyone?

I have updated the OP and the current cumulative PNL% is 4.7186%

A little more dump, please. The current position of my bag, XMR, is at -54%. It was previously -200%. Look at the chart of XMR at a 5 minute timeframe. I'm feeling a little hopeful with it. ~2% price difference. Hoping for a little more dump.

Average Entry Price: 141.67017
Current Price of XMR: 145.38

But let's not be emotional and let Gunbot do its thing continuously. No interventions whatsoever.

It reached -36% ROE with XMR around 10 hours ago but it rose in price again. It didn't reach my average entry price and the position wasn't closed. I still have that bag. Let's see what the price action would be today.

Additionally, I deposited some USDT towards the account. I would be trying to take advantage of the compounding interest. Let's see in a couple of months what the result is. The summarized table is in the second post on how much deposited etc.

Added a couple of dollars towards the account again. I had a couple of cash vouchers won from Binance so, thrilled to have that. Currently participating in the Gunbot Tournament as well.

An update, the current positions that I have during this time of posting.

Now I have 3 bags with my current setup. I will wait till the market recovers. I have some hard reduction setup, so if ever needed to kill the position, it will. Let's see in the following days.

So the other bags that I had were removed, and the XMR bag remains. As long as we're using the conservative strategy, it's okay. It's pretty far away from the liquidation limit.

I have updated the OP for my recent gains. I'm happy with the current results that we have. 5.83% gain in half a month is excellent, IMO.

Great profit during Christmas day. 15.676 USDT in a day. This is not bad considering the previous days that we had. Still averaging around 8.305 USDT per day on 16 Days, which is really not bad considering the only cost to have continuously is the VPS monthly. Otherwise, the license is a one-time payment only, and you don't need to pay for anything else.

Updated the OP and if some of you got questions, post em up.

This is the best performing day yet with the bot. Had around 38 USDT profit in a single day. This puts us at an 8.93% cumulative profit and loss percentage.

I had deposited 427 USDT for additional capital to make more room to DCA the XMR bag. The average entry price is around 143.79. This puts us close to the lowest low in the last weeks. Maybe it will reach that support line of 142 soon.

Updated the OP with the current stats.

Currently, the trading range is around 166.473 and 156.63, which are my support and Resistance. In my chart, the current prices are below the EMA (22) that is plotted. That's just the first range, but the second support I want the price to break is around 152. So it would possibly continue to go in a downtrend. The chart is for the USDT-XMR pair in Binance Futures. My current bag, lol.

I have updated the OP with the following positions and profits. We have reached a profit of 200 USDT after 19 days! This is a great start. Hopefully, we could see the fruition of this experiment.

I'm into future trading on Binance too but for me it's really hard to understand at first and my balance was wrecked in just a matter of minutes.
Are you giving your positions for free? This is really great I think I should be following you for a while those gain of yours are pretty decent amount.
I'm not familiar with Gunbot was that a free Bot or we need to pay in order to use it?

I'm really sorry for your loss. You shouldn't dwell immediately when dealing with Futures trading because it's a risky market when you have limited tools to use with.

Are you giving your positions for free? This is really great I think I should be following you for a while those gain of yours are pretty decent amount.
I don't hold positions because my strategy is with market making. So I produce a lot of volume in a matter of minutes in trading. I cannot share any position because it's not a swing trade. I could give you a list of my profitable pairs if you like. It's profitable in a sideways market and even more profitable if you are in the right position (Long/Short).

I'm not familiar with Gunbot was that a free Bot or we need to pay in order to use it?
Gunbot is not free. It's a trading tool with a one-time payment fee. It's not a subscription and it's not a cloud service. You install it on your computer and you run it at your own pace. I would help you if you want to set it up.

I have noticed that once I had deposited a larger amount of money (for the compounding balance effect), it had started to become steeper and my average daily profit now is 11 USDT per day. This is the average since the start of this experiment. You could see the start of the steeper line after the red markings in the graph. Look at the image below.

https://i.imgur.com/lNJOK7u.png

This is somewhat expected, but at least there's definite proof of the compounding effect. And the initial goal right now is to reach $5000 and then $10000.

Happy! Happy new year everyone! Great start for the year. As we have started this challenge, it was a long time position but now, the XMR has finally been removed and it provided a good profit. Not bad for the start of the year, hopefully, continuous throughout 2021. Let's see how the market will turn the tides. If Gunbot can continuously make a profit in this volatile market.

I withdrew 25 USDT for the expense cost for the VPS. This will be a monthly plan so I will withdraw monthly as well for the expense. At the end of this month, I will make sure to withdraw something for myself as well. Lol.

Current positions are

If you have noticed, I have kept updating this thread without posting, and there's nothing significant to share before. With the recent volatile market of BTC, we have closed a couple of trades, and we have profited 12.624 USDT per day for 26 days. I'm thrilled with the result and the position that we have right now. As long as we keep our positions safe and away from the liquidation points, we can continue for a long time. This is still the main objective of this experiment to stay alive in any market condition.

After 30 days these are the stats below! I'm going to set it in stone for others to see.

Average Profit (USDT): 13.37601807

Profit (USDT): 401.280542
Days: 30
Profit %: 17.8132

Any ideas guys on what could this more interesting? Especially to others who are trading as well and might have a collaboration with it or something? I'm thinking of different ways that could be useful for others to see other than these results. Just post here guys!

Additional data for those who are curious. Below are the pairs that I have running and their corresponding profit. Check the info below.

https://i.imgur.com/wRRUU29.png

I noticed that even if you have the best win rate, it doesn't necessarily mean that you would get the same results. Looking at XLM, it has the best winning days, but the average daily profit is lower compared to COMP. What I'm thinking right now is that are there better pairs that could generate better profit? Upon arriving at these terms, I think I'm going to continue to let it run for two months. This will be 60 days, and then the one with the lowest result would be eliminated. I think this would be a great game show. Lol.

These are all after 32 Days of being traded. The data has been collected using the Binance GUI. It's basically an overview of each coin that was traded over the past 32 days.

Title: Re: Automated Trading Challenge - Start with $2000 - In-Depth Analysis of USDT Pairs

It has been a while since I've posted, I will just give some brief updates.

The balance right now is at $3062.710434
The total invested balance is $2509.364164

Right now, the current position that I have is USDT-DOT. The bot got caught in a short and led to that multiple highs.

Currently, the average entry of the position is 9.6853. The price right now is 17.40. I'm thinking of adding additional balance for further averaging out of the position. Hopefully we can get out of this alive and I hope no more pump will happen.

I will show the results on multiple day bases. So currently we are at an incredible pace with the profits. I am currently averaging 14.49 USD. Definitely not bad.

I still have the current DOT bag that I want to hopefully get rid of soon.  It's like the XMR bag. Hopefully, it would dump soon. I haven't had any capital left to safely DCA it. Right now, I'm currently hoping that it would dump close enough to be closed in profit. Let's see the results.

I have updated the OP.

Hello ! How are you ?

Interesting strategy, I'll take a look at this, I do spot trading normally, recently I have been experimenting with Binance Future, very good gain but little as quickly brought losses if we do not manage well.

Reached 60 days and still kicking! The only position left is still DOTUSDT. Been holding this for a while now and I hope we can get rid of this bag sooner or later.

https://i.imgur.com/PM6wziD.png

The Average USDT per day is: 17.68517985

An increase from 13.37601807 to 17.68517985

A 32.22% increase from last month. Hopefully this continues until a year. And then we can have a more conclusive result to see if it's the real deal.

You would really need to take a good look with your strategy when it comes to futures market. It can really be brutal and you can get rekt a lot if you don't do proper cutting of losses, etc. Maybe you can utilize Gunbot in your trading. Let me know if you are interested.

I have transferred the funds to the spot market making sure that I can just leave it and choose coins that I want to HODL. Not using the same strategy though. Just using the spot grid strategy and just automate continuously.

Sorry for replying to this old topic but I'm curious to see if there was any results to share for 2022 and 2023?
So, any updates with the grid strategy? Do you still use it or did you adjust it?
Thanks!

No worries. I'm planning to post a new one for this. I'm just trying to find the right time to set it up. Would you want Grid Strategy to be the main one? I'm looking for multiple strategies that could probably be helpful in the long run. That's my target. Set and forget type.
