Title: Preparing database (with bitcoin dir in another hard disk) Post by: josebyte on September 15, 2020, 09:09:13 AM I have Bitcoin core installed and synced.
Bitcoin qt software is in c:\program files\bitcoin The bitcoin folder data is d:\bitcoin. The bitcoin blocks data is in d:\bitcoin\blocks I try changing in the armory settings the "Bitcoin home dir" to "d:\bitcoin" but in logs is still trying to access c:\users\roaming\bitcoin why?? How can I fix it? (TIP: use pastebin.com rather than just copy/pasting it all into a comment directly!)
While the error you have shown would tend to indicate that the "pathing" (https://btcarmory.com/docs/pathing) has not been picked up correctly and it is using the wrong "Bitcoin Home Dir" value... there might be something else that isn't set quite right. Did you simply modify the settings.txt, or did you use the "File -> Settings..." option within the Armory GUI itself? ??? I use the "File -> Settings..." option within the Armory GUI https://ibb.co/RhBY0hd and check the configuration in AppData/Roaming/Armory/ArmorySettings.txt, alredy send in the previous post. My complete log is: https://pastebin.com/iyuDmpdu Title: Re: Preparing database (with bitcoin dir in another hard disk) Post by: HCP on September 15, 2020, 10:39:59 PM I use the "File -> Settings..." option within the Armory GUI I'd suggest that you remove the "C:\Program Files\Bitcoin" from the "Bitcoin Install Dir" box in the settings, just leave it blank... and then shut down Armory (and shutdown Bitcoin Core if it is running), making sure that ALL Armory and Bitcoin Core processes have stopped (double check "Task Manager" or restart your computer to be sure they're stopped). After that, manually run the Bitcoin Core GUI, wait for it to finish syncing up, then start Armory.https://ibb.co/RhBY0hd If that still doesn't help, then you might need to use the "Help -> Factory Reset" option in Armory. Quote My complete log is: It's a strange one, it seems that it is definitely trying to start bitcoind using a datadir of "D:\Bitcoin", but then Armory goes looking for blocks in the AppData\Roaming directory??!? I do not think I have seen that happen before. ??? :-\ https://pastebin.com/iyuDmpdu Title: Re: Preparing database (with bitcoin dir in another hard disk) Post by: goatpig on September 16, 2020, 06:13:38 AM Thanks for the reply :) I use the "File -> Settings..." option within the Armory GUI https://ibb.co/RhBY0hd and check the configuration in AppData/Roaming/Armory/ArmorySettings.txt, alredy send in the previous post.
