DeFi-Scams - Big All-In-One-Thread

Last Update: 26.11.2020

DeFi (Decentralized Finance) has been on everyone's lips since the beginning of 2020 and new projects are constantly being added. Even experienced users find it difficult to keep an overview here. Unfortunately, cases of fraud in DeFi projects have also been increasing recently, because similar to the ICO hype in 2017, the DeFi hype in 2020 also attracts a large number of scammers.

The purpose of this thread is to create an overview-like list in which it should be briefly displayed whether a new DeFi project is an obvious scam. Thanks to all the users who are sharing their recent finds here on the Scam-Accussation board! You are doing an awesome job in protecting the community against these scammers:

Thanks for following my suggestion and posting a copy of original thread here.

After seeing scammers recent activities with DeFi oriented money stealing projects personally i was thinking to create a list about DeFi related scam projects but suddenly got your thread today on German board. So i thought a similar thread should be in this section for increasing entire forum users awareness. Keep giving regular updates and save newbies from getting scammed. Good luck.

It's a good idea to have all of them in one place, good job @bullrun2020bro! Be ready to update that list quite often as those scams are getting on popularity each day and it doesn't look like it will pass anytime soon.

One would think that people learned something from ICO bubble, but as we can see situation is even worse as scams without whitepaper, team and any original idea are raising millions. Back then some of those ICOs at least have appearance of legitimacy while this is on a completely different level.

Good idea bullrun2020bro, but you would need many pages to list all defi scams, because they are showing up every minute and this is worse than ICO scams back in the days.
This is only hurting all healthy crypto space in the long run, but people are greedy and don't care as long as they make profit.

Yes, please do try to keep it updated--and it's unfortunate that it's a list that's going to keep on growing, but I think we all know that's a fact.  How long the list will eventually get will depend on how the DeFi space develops.  I'm really hoping that it doesn't follow the course of the ICO boom and bust and that there's actually something of substance to DeFi.  As of this moment I'm not convinced there's anything of real value to it, and there's certainly a lot of hype.

One would think that people learned something from ICO bubble, but as we can see situation is even worse as scams without whitepaper, team and any original idea are raising millions.
Scammers only learn how to scam better, and the suckers....well, they never seem to learn, no matter how many times they've been scammed.  All the hype surrounding DeFi--that's why those projects can raise millions.  Everyone wants in on the new thing that's going to make them rich.  That part of the story is the same no matter what thing we're talking about, and people don't seem to realize that it's nearly impossible to become wealthy without much effort.

Ah, well.  We'll see how long this list gets.  I'm going to bookmark it.

This is a very good thread to put up so I thank you for this bullrun2020bro! :)

Uniswap just put up their tokens yesterday ($UNI) and there are a few youtubers who have reported about users are eligible to receive up to $1500 in tokens from them if they have used their platform ending on September 9th.
Can you verify this and if it is a scam or not? :-\

Here are the two youtubers I have viewed about this so called airdrop far:

That sounds great! Hopefully nobody from your local community will fall for these DeFi scams. I also added the DeFi-clone of the TON project you just posted to the OP. Thanks a lot for sharing it here!

Uniswap airdrop is legit, few friends of mine claimed the tokens and sold them via Binance. Everyone that used Uniswap until September 1st is eligible for 400 UNI tokens. Some people claimed thousands of UNI tokens as you were eligible for each wallet you use, so for example if you connected 10 wallets to Uniswap until the deadline, you got 4000 UNI combined. At the moment 1 UNI=6 USD , so it's not a surprise that there are scam attempts using this occasion.

That's what scammers do, they quickly adapt and always try to exploit latest craze/hype/airdrop/giveaway. After all, that's why we have this thread now, but I'm afraid that this is just the beginning and will go on for the some time, until enough people loose the money and everything falls apart, like in the ICO time.

Title: Re: [LIST] DeFi-Scams - Big All-In-One-Thread

Another quick update (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771) for the thread. This time I added five projects to the DeFi-scam list.

Last Update: 13.10.2020

13/10/2020
  • added YYFI.Protocol (Plagiarism)
  • added SMARTSPEC (Plagiarism)
  • added Yieldly (Fake Photos)
  • added YearM.Finance (Clone of Yearn.Finance)
  • added FreeUniSwap (Clone of Uniswap)

Concerning YYFI.Protocol: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5275220.msg55179550#msg55179550) They clearly plagiarized some parts of an old whitepaper (Loligo). Thanks to @Jawhead999, who found out about this case.

I find they're doing plagiarism from a dead coin named Loligo. This is some red flags I found...

I also added two clones to the list (YearM.Finance (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280802.0) & FreeUniSwap (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5279912.0)). Both entries might not be separate projects, but both are DeFi-related scams. And since the original projects UniSwap and Yearn.Finance are currently being hyped, I thought it would be a good idea to make people aware that there are several clones/fakes out there. Always make sure you are entering the correct website - don't fall for clones and never share your private key!

Maybe you can ADD Mooswap, rug pull liquidity yesterday, website now just with blank page I see some people still buying this token today. To prevent Bitcointalk member become a victim, I wish OP considering to add $MOO on the list.

I also updated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771) the thread once again and added the following four projects to the DeFi-scam list:

Last Update: 15.10.2020

15/10/2020
  • added CBDAO (BREE) (Exit Scam)
  • added Yearn.Finance Red (Stolen Content)
  • added MOOswap (UniSwap liquidity Rug Pull)
  • added Cache (CXCHE) (Fake Team)

I also added a thread to the "additional threads" section, which I recently created on the Beginner's & Help board: Beginner's Guide: Don't fall for DeFi-Airdrop-Scams (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5281854.0)

Thanks once again to everyone, who is fighting these scams! I really appreciate your help guys!  :)

Time for another update (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771)! Thanks to the great work of our community! We found several more scam projects, which I just added to the DeFi-scam list in @OP.

Last Update: 15.10.2020

19/10/2020
  • added Thou.Finance (Exit Scam)
  • added Comet.Finance (Exit Scam)
  • added YES.finance (Stolen Content)
  • added Padthai.finance (Exit Scam)

Concerning the exit scam of Padthai.finance, please see what libert19 posted here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5281854.msg55400698#msg55400698).

I just updated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771) the thread once again and added the following three projects to the DeFi scam list:

Last Update: 27.10.2020

27/10/2020
  • added RAMP.defi (Irregularities)
  • added Yearn Finance Decentralized (Plagiarized Whitepaper)
  • added SushiSwapClassLc (Clone)

Concerning RAMP.defi I decided to add them to the list because of the thread Bthd created recently. See here for further reference:  [SCAM] Ramp Defi (1m $ seed round and 103k $ public sale) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284258.0). If RAMP.defi should succeed in disproving the allegations, I will remove them from the list.

I recently updated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771) the thread again and added the following two projects:

Last Update: 31.10.2020

31/10/2020
  • added Zelos Mining (former Yieldly) (Fake Photos, Fake Team)
  • added OfficialUniSwap (Clone)

It looks like the same scammers that created Yieldly some time ago rebranded their project and called it Zelos Mining. See this reference for more information: [SCAM] Yieldly (now Zelos)- fake team member photos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5281190.msg55486430#msg55486430)

OfficialUniSwap is another UniSwap clone. Don't fall for this. Never enter your privat key and always double-check if you're on the correct website.

It's time to update (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771) the thread again. I added the following five projects to the DeFi scam list:

Last Update: 06.11.2020

06/11/2020
  • added Curve.si (Clone)
  • added Mooniswap.app (Clone)
  • added YFPO.finance (Stock Photos)
  • added BUTTERswap (Bounty Irregularities)
  • added YFI.mobi (Fake Airdrop, Exit Scam)

If you actually trade on the various DeFi swap websites out there, it's time to be extra careful! More and more DeFi clones are popping up trying to steal your money. Always double-check, if the website you're using is accurate. Never enter your private key! Do not send ETH to untrustworthy contracts.

I guess you can add this scam project to the list too:

[ANN] Anonyme 🌟 An Autonomous Interest Rate Protocol (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288431.0)

No team, no whitepaper... just a shiny website and token sales.

Yes, very nice summary of the 2nd biggest plague that hit 2020, defi scams.
But i'm affraid you have your work cut out for you by updating the list, as there's like 5 new defi scams popping up every day.

I think the OP will update the list after many have reported on this fraud allegation, so it is fitting that every day there will be many DeFi projects that continue to scam people and I think that their way of getting money, should be eliminated completely.
But the OP job is very over priced because it provides an already scam DeFi list.

Indeed that project is fishy enough which high likely would be ended as a scam,
If you made a proper accusation of them I think OP would determine to add it to the list.

You are absolutely right. The project looks fishy as hell and is likely another DeFi scam. Unfortunately the thread was deleted by the moderators already. Did you archive it? In addition to that it would be very helpful if you create a proper scam accusation thread as a reference. If you don't know how the format looks, please check the following guide: Scam Report Format (Use it to make scam reports properly) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0)

I also updated (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771) the thread once again and added two projects to the DeFi scam list:

Don't worry. I guess everyone knows that we won't be able to add every DeFi scam out there to the list in the OP. Nevertheless I don't think that's a huge problem - in my opinion the thread briefly describes how dangerous the DeFi space is and how many scams are out there. The thread is a reminder to users to be careful and stay alert before investing in a new project.

No, unfortunately I did not archive their ANN topic but I am glad that the moderators deleted it. However, there is a google cache archive here:

There is an Anonyme bounty thread active on the forum and stupid bountyhunters still report their activity there. ;D

Anonyme thread was deleted because they were giving away tokens in exchange for ANN comments, therefore breaking the forum rules. Good riddance imho, as it was spammed by bunch of newbie accounts wanting to get few dollars worth of that shitcoin.

As @bullrun2020bro told you, if you think that Anonyme is most likely a scam, open a topic in Scam accusation (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) and if it's your first topic there, follow the format that you can find in the pinned message.

Two more DeFi scams ready to be added to the list

[SCAM] Yearn Finance Tech DeFi shitcoin  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5291327.msg55630473#msg55630473)
[SCAM] YLD Defi plagiarized website content! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5287327.msg55538354#msg55538354)

Now, indeed, every new project that appears on the market necessarily refers to the DeFi sector, even if it is not. Scammers also see the hype that accompanies these projects, and also call their scam DeFi to attract additional investor attention to their fraud. So we will still see a lot of scams around DeFi, and the OP will not be left without work.

This is a good list to watch out for. Good thing the OP is adding his last update here so we know projects which created after that have not yet seen for review. And more than likely, we will end up with only few legit DeFi platforms. Seeing all these blunders ranging from plagiarism, phishing websites to fake team members, repeating those over and over again.

Time for another update (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276012.msg55201771#msg55201771)! I added the following eleven projects to the DeFi scam list:

Last Update: 26.11.2020

26/11/2020
  • added YearnFinance.tech (Clone)
  • added YLD DeFi (Plagiarized Website Content)
  • added DeFiHold (Ponzi Scheme)
  • added UniSwap.appS (Clone)
  • added MultiSwap Protocol (Plagiarized Whitepaper
  • added iFarming.Finance (Plagiarized Website Content)
  • added BambooDefi (Plagiarized Whitepaper)
  • added YFIB DeFi (Plagiarized Website Content)
  • added unibluefinance.com (Fake Team)
  • added Ywin.Finance (Fake Team)
  • added yfiairdrop (Fake Airdrop, Clone)

The DeFi hype still continues and new DeFi scams are popping up every day. It's far from beeing over. Please stay alert and do not fall for the DeFi scammers.

[SCAM] Yearn Finance Tech DeFi shitcoin  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5291327.msg55630473#msg55630473)
[SCAM] YLD Defi plagiarized website content! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5287327.msg55538354#msg55538354)

Thanks for sharing these here, I added them to the list. Great work buddy!
