Title: [Scam]: Swerve Finance phishing sites
Post by: TravelMug on September 17, 2020, 01:52:55 AM
What happened: Apparently, there are phishing sites of Swerve.

Archived: https://archive.is/IifEN
                https://archive.is/16ORY

First case: Thorough Google Ads:

Code:
https://swerve.money/

Second case: Phishing link:

Code:
https://swerve-finance.com/

There's not much any difference visually and noobs can fall for this kind of trick. The phishing site is fairly new:

https://whois.domaintools.com/swerve-finance.com

The official and legit website is: https://swerve.fi/

We all know that we are in the Defi hype so scammers and criminals are mimicking these kind of websites, be careful.

I'm still getting that phishing site through Google Ads, I reported it to Google, maybe they can take it down very quick. And nice comparison of the fake and legit, really shows how criminals are operating, taking every detail of the sites that they are going to copy.

Just now I had tried to search and seem till now phishing website is appearing on Google. This is an advertisement and that's the reason why we shouldn't trust Google ads anymore especially if it's crypto-related. I heard Google stopped crypto-related ads but how are these ads appearing on Google? Or am I missing something? Scammers are become more active nowadays due to the DeFi hype. They are taking advantage of the DeFi scheme. Anyway, I have reported this ad, don't know when Google will review that and take down the phishing site.

Ever since Google started giving $45 for free, scammers have also started using AdSense services. :D
These brainless scammers always take advantage of free services and rob innocent people.

However, this website has only been 7 days, hope that after our reports, google will take action.

I don't see the phishing websites anymore, so it's good that Google has taken action for several members who have reported it. Scary though if it someone has fallen for this fake websites because it is up by a week already.

I tried to search if there are reports, fortunately, there's none so good efforts from the OP to report it here and then members reporting it in unison to Google to bring it down.

The first site that the OP find has been taken by down by Google. However, if you are going to search using the keyword again "Swerve finance", you will find this site on top, another phishing site:

Code:
https://swerve-finance.eu/

So again, we need to report this ASAP, I have done my part.
